In ME3 we received 20 points of Galactic Readiness for doing this, but in ME:A resetting lvl 20 character seems to only allow us to train that character from lvl 1 in different skills, or is there any other point in doing this?
When you max out given character card to ried X, I guess you get so many points for that character, that you can max all of its skills anyway, so that makes resetting lvl 20 tier X character back to lvl 1 even more pointless.

You get 25 Apex points. That's all. So, there is no point in doing it.

No, there is no point. Not even eDong, because as far as I know it doesn't give you a boost to Apex Rating or challenge points.

Apec rating can also be bought. I friend bought the currency worth 100 dollars and opened boxes. He went from 5k to 8k apex. So yea it doesnt even show skill or experience when it can be bought.

Unlocking and upgrading stuff increases your Apex rating, so every weapon/character/mod card that he pulled would have boosted his Apex.

I think it wasn't a comparison but more about how N7 rating was bad but APEX seems far worse, especially since you couldn't buy N7 rating. Neither is a valid indicator of skill.

You certainly could buy N7. Chararcter cards were repeatable and gave character levels. Levels allowed you to reset very quickly. Something this game doesn't offer once you've maxed each character out.

Something this game doesn't offer once you've maxed each character out. While character cards did reward experience they were random and took a very long time to get a class to 20. This is coming from someone who had a 6,000 N7 when I finally decided to stop promoting. If anyone spent money to get a high N7, they wasted a ton of money and were not even guaranteed to earn any N7 rating. Keep in mind that duplicate character cards were eventually removed as well so you would have hoped that Bioware learned a lesson from this. Sadly, APEX is far, far worse as every item you unlock boosts your score so there is no difference at all between someone who plays a lot and someone who spends a lot.

My experience is coming from being rated N7 7 in the world and 2 in my country. c: Leveling from bought cards was easier and infinite, whilst unlocks can only take you so far in this game before you cap out. I get what you're saying, but, in the end, it is only just a number and there's nothing to really 'learn' from this. There's no e-sports for Mass Effect, nor is there a competitive scene outside of a few players challenging each other. Someone that plays a lot will "soon" unlock everything, someone that pays a lot will freeze their rating and not be able to rush forward much more because they don't play.

I suppose it's a free respec. You get Apex points just for playing even with it maxed, right?
Is there a challenge that tracks how many levels you gain in a class, even?

There is no point. Well, not really. Still, if you are bored, if you have this character card at Level X and if you are likely to be using this character for Gold farming over and over, I guess promoting doesn't really hurt.
I promoted my Human Infiltrator today and after some Zero/Outlaws/Gold farming she was back to Level 15 already and the core of her build pretty much completed.
