The Ultra Rare Grind is Real:
Total Credits Needed to Max Rare = 19,465,000
Gold: 390
Silver: 780
Bronze: 1,950
Total Credits Needed to Max Ultra Rare = 109,465,500
Gold: 2,190
Silver: 4,380
Bronze: 10,950
Total Common: 233
108 Character Cards = (12 * 10) - 12 45 Weapon Cards = (5 * 10) -5 80 Weapon Mods = (8 * 10) - 0
Total Uncommon: 240
60 Character Cards = (6 * 10) 100 Weapon Cards = (10 * 10) 80 Weapon Mod Cards = (8 * 10)
Total Rare: 270
40 Character Cards = (4 * 10) 190 Weapon Cards = (19 * 10) 40 Weapon Mod Cards = (4 * 10)
Total Ultra Rare: 180
50 Character Cards = (5 * 10) 13 Weapon Cards = (13 * 10) 0 Weapon Mod Cards
Conservative assumptions: Worst Case Scenario
5,000 Credits = 1 Common per Basic Pack 20,000 Credits = 1 Uncommon per Advanced Pack 50,000 Credits = 1 Rare per Expert Pack 100,000 Credits = 0.20 Ultra Rare per Premium Pack
Credits Needed to Max Common: 1,165,000
1,165,000 = 233 * 5,000
Credits Needed to Max Uncommon: 4,800,000
4,800,000 = 240 * 20,000
Credits Needed to Max Rare: 13,500,000
13,500,000 = 270 * 50,000
Credits Needed to Max Ultra Rare: 90,000,000
90,000,000 = (180 * 100,000) / 0.20
Credits Per Extraction:
Gold = 50,000 Silver = 20,000 Bronze = 10,000
Required Extractions to Max Common = (5,000 * 233) / Credits Per Extraction
Gold: 23 Silver: 46 Bronze: 115
Required Extractions to Max Uncommon = (20,000 * 240) / Credits Per Extraction
Gold: 96 Silver: 192 Bronze: 480
Required Extractions to Max Rare = (50,000 * 270) / Credits Per Extraction
Gold: 270 Silver: 540 Bronze: 1,350
Required Extractions to Max Ultra Rare = (100,000 * 180 * 5) / Credits Per Extraction
Gold: 1,800 Silver: 3,600 Bronze: 9,000

So about 450 to 500 hours to max ultra rares. Assuming just over 15 minutes a game.

The ultra rare grind is insane. If an average game is 15 minutes that's 550 hours. And that's no including time between games and time spent searching.... Inlcuding that you're looking at around 30 days of playtime to max out ur's probably. ME3 only had 7 ultra rares at launch so that was a lot easier to max out. So glad they added level x characters and trash guns like ushior and n7 eagle so we have more to play for.......
These numbers are depressing. So many of the current guns and characters don't deserve to be ultra rare. If every ultra rare was at least good it wouldn't be so bad. But right now only 4 guns are decent and the rest are garbage, and they truly are garbage. Getting n7 cards and them turning into stuff like eagle, valkyrie and ushior feels like a slap in the face. Or kineticist.

This so called "grind" is literally the game. These 500h IS the game. The real game is not what comes after (hint: nothing happens after). If you do not enjoy playing the game, getting credits and opening pack the for Gods sake stop!

This so called "grind" is literally the game. These 500h IS the game. yes, no one should care about unlocking the black widow x, it's all about the journey using your weak ass indra /s when i maxed out my "manifest" in DAIMP I then spent a few hundred hours writing guides, testing out new builds and group setups for the heartbreaker difficulty, and just generally enjoying playing kits to their full potential. there's more to it than just grinding man. in fact, id prefer no grind at all and just a bunch of harder difficulties/content to blow through.

If you do not enjoy playing the game, getting credits and opening pack the for Gods sake stop! I disagree - the combat/gameplay is what keeps me coming back, not the prospect of random unlocking of new things. If the gameplay is good enough then as in ME3 I enjoyed and played for more hours after maxing the manifest than before. Being a repetitive multiplayer horde mode, there is no "end" to the game when you finish unlocking everything. The game ends when you stop enjoying the gameplay.

If you do not enjoy playing the game, getting credits and opening pack the for Gods sake stop! For me "the game" is having fun with all the characters and all the guns in the game at their full potential and not playing with subpar stuff for 550h before that happens (which means never in my case, cause I won't spend that much time with the game). So no, that's not literally the game, even though Bioware might like to think so...

There are games like that. Its not this one. Much like ME3MP, it _is_ about the journey. Besides, a BW X does like 20% more damage than the BW 1. The difference does not impact your ability to write guides or test group setups.

That's about how long it took me in ME3 on PC - of course that was with every DLC present when I started... and I only played Silver twice before going to Gold...

I'm afraid I don't care about the manifest. Also, I'm afraid that I might stop playing after I max all characters to level 20 and run a few games with each of them. At least in ME3, most of UR guns were actually good. But agree, the gameplay has to be enjoyable. Manifest is meaningless. We'll see how it goes here with MEA.

I already spent 300 on the MP, so that cut a lot of the grind down. To get all the UR though, I don't even want to imagine the odds of that.

... If you do not enjoy playing the game, getting credits and opening pack the for Gods sake stop! This. I'd even go a step further. If you don't like playing MP, then stop. You can beat the SP without even touching MP. I always was puzzled when some people announced tp stop playing MP when they finally got that Harrier 10 / BW 10. Why the grind when you not intend to play the Harrier 10?

Marauder Shields save us all... I know the feels xD I have my complaints but I play on sticking around for a while; I find the combat too enjoyable. I'm taking my time with the single player, but like ME3, it's the MP that's gonna keep me around, and I'm glad to realize it's the same this time around.

Keep in mind the data is for worst case scenario. I often get multiple or a tier higher than what I am supposed to when opening boxes. I have friends who have gotten two Ultra Rares in one Premium box.
The credits needed to get a max gold manifest seems extremely reasonable and fair. Great progression curve.
The Ultra Rare max manifest will be frustrating for those who get bad RNG and don't unlock something they really want until they already have Rank 10 of all the fodder.
I think Bioware did a decent job. All they need to do to make everyone and themselves happy, microtransactions, is make it so you unlock all Rank 1's of a specific tier before moving on to Rank 2's.

If you do not enjoy playing the game, getting credits and opening pack the for Gods sake stop! Yes, absolutely. It took me 800 hours to first max my UR in ME3 and around 1000 hours to max out the latest UR that were added at the end of the game. After that, I played for an additional 500 hours In fact the challenges where one of the reasons I kept playing.
