I got a character to level 20, finally, but it seems to be missing some points.
Krogan Gladiator
Pull 1
Ann 6
Nova 1
Off Biotics 5
Rage 6
I have 3 points left over, which are only enough to buy one 2nd rank skill. I thought we were supposed to be able to max four skills if we leave one skill at rank 1. I can't even max out 3.

The rest come from character cards. Until you get the same character to 'X', you will ALWAYS be missing points.
Ultra Rare characters are basically infinitely gimped because of this. Douchey decision is douchey.

You will need to unlock her to Krogan Gladiator X. You get skill points with most of the cards you unlock. I know that there was one somewhere in the middle that gave only pattern and pattern color.

Douchey decision is douchey. Oh yeah, I remember reading that now. I wasn't sure how that worked. Yeah, that's pretty douchy. There's not much reason to level to 20 then until you get the cards, and somehow I really doubt I am going to get 9 of these ultra rares any time soon. That rather kills my desire to keep playing. I had had a hard enough time getting ultra rares in ME3, even after over a thousand hours I only had a couple ultra rares at 10. This is a massive grind. |

I just posted in Bug section about missing points,but my kit was rank X (Krogan Mercenary).
I am able to make only 6 6 6 5 1 build.
It feels gimped compared to others.

After that I reset kit to level 1,thinking maybe that will help,but no avail. Now my Krogan Mercenary at lv 1 has 21 available points,instead of 25.  |

When you reset them from level 20 they went up a tier... naaaaahhh too generous of Massi-I mean Bioware (almost forgot for a second that this isn't The Division, another bug ridden poorly balanced mess) How ever I love the idea, would diffidently give a reason to promote a character, reset to 1 and you are awarded 1 of that character card, and lets spit ball for a second. Then if the character is already at X and you promote you will be awarded a special pack that will consist of 10 cards, like a 50K pack that also includes 3-5 of each consumable and 1 booster. |

The whole rank system was one of the worst design decisions in this game. It used to be exciting when you unlocked a new character - now there's not much point to even try them out before you've unlocked them 5+ more times as you just won't get access to their powers.  |

Same sentiment, I unlock a new character and am I just like "Great, only have to get him 9 more times before he as good as he can get...." Reminds me of back when you could get Duplicates of characters in ME3 after you already unlocked all the cosmetics, and all you got was 20K experience for it.(which if memory serves me was like lvl 1 to 3 only if you happened to not have a class at level 20, which took all of 3-4 Gold matches) Now if the reward for getting a character to rank X gave you the 20 extra points to have a legitimate 6/6/6/6/6 build then sure but as is, this system is complete garbage and I feel sorry for anyone who's fallen in love with any of the Ultra Rare characters. |
