Do the romances in Divinity: Original Sin 2 have non-sexual routes, or do you have to have sex or the romance ends? As I said, I'm not far into the game yet, but I doubt the scope of the romances will be anywhere near a Bioware game, both in length and options, so probably not. When I wrote "accidentally romanced a skeleton", it was more like being dragged behind a screen after I answered the question if I was flirting with him with something like "Uhm, maybe.", though I'm not completely sure they actually had sex. Fane (said skeleton) seemed a bit dissapointed and admitted he lacked the necessary... experience (he notably did not say parts after the pause). He was also taking notes on the mating behaviour of mortals right after that, so I wouldn't expect any Disney-kind of romance if the general tone of the game stays like that, which is very likely. Baculum or no baculum, that is the question...

The original Divinity is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I just need to accustom myself to the turn-based combat and goofiness to really get into this one.

I'm at the end of the first area. It's very fun so far. I cheesed the final battle. When the sandworm from Dune showed up, I left the area and let the baddies fight it. The sandworm killed Alexandar and some of his minions, so I only had two left to fight. Good times!

I doubt it's Bioware's style though; probably something mentioned, a bit of dialogue and then forgotten. There wasn't any in the first one or there is but you're just romancing yourself. I never finished the first one; found it a bit dreary. The second is a bit more lively and I find it more interesting. I'm playing an elf (origins) and I've to munch *gag* on dead flesh to know people's origins / thoughts. I'm playing on Explorer because turn-base is not really my thing, I just want the story and chars. I didn't know Alix Wilton Regan voiced the female elf so I went ??? when I heard her voice. Oh that's familiar. Who? Ah! The Inquisitor!

I played and liked both games as well, I was merely pointing out that the Witcher and DOS are two very different types of game, despite both being called RPGs. It's just a bit annoying that the witcher is treated like the current holy grail of gaming and everything is compared to it. I'm not far into DOS 2 yet, but it seems to have improved in the storytelling department, not as aimless as the first game's story imo. I also accidentally romanced a skeleton, not sure if that in itself counts as improvement, but the game has romance options now. I haven't looked at the co-op/multiplayer/whatever features of the game at all and am not going to because I actually enjoy playing alone, but you can create custom characters in the SP campaign just as well, they just come without a backstory in that case. It is obnoxious when people won't stop comparing everything to the last big thing, regardless of how tenuous the connection may be. In that we agree. I'm also not generally a multiplayer guy, and I still want to play at least one game solo. But then, I've always wanted a co-op RPG campaign; it might be fun with the right people. And yes, I know you can create custom characters in regular mode, though so far the pre-set ones sound more intriguing. I meant handcrafting builds in arena mode, rather than having to settle for pre-determined abilities. I enjoy a good love story as much as the next guy, so it ultimately depends on how they're written. On the point of your skeleton, would you say you have been (no, no, no, I mustn't say it, it's too bad) boned? (Cringe.)

You get to pick flirty answers (or just friendly ones) through out of the game and eventually gets a more raunchy scene with one of your romance options toward the end of the game (which friendzone the rest). There are already youtube videos of that (it's pretty late game so beware of spoilers). It's also a more elaborate than picking "lets go to bed" and getting a cutscene. I've been hitting on Lohse since the start of the game and we are currently in the "I like you and you like me" phase (Lohse loves to whisper in my ear that "she likes me too", happened like 3 time already). I'm just early in Act 2 though, but I'm really liking it so far. I'm also super bro with Ifan, hopefully he's not taking that the wrong way. I'm playing as Sebille by the way.

Romance wasn't in the book when I picked those three up; I didn't think DV2 would have it since there was none in the first which was one of the factors against it. I just made it past the fort, about to head out. Is Lohse in the fort?

You can also have a romance with the NPC Butter in Fort Joy (she even update her journal accordingly) and you can meet her later in act 2 apparently (I read about it). By the way, talks to everyone, including the animals. The game is packed with quests and hints.

Alix Wilton also did some voice acting for the first game. I can still hear "She bit me in the face... IN THE FACE!" because the NPCs kept saying their lines over and over again. That still seems to be an issue, but it's less obvious because I didn't need to stayed long in one place so far (the market in Cyseal was really annoying because of this). Is it just me or did Matt Mercer voice about every second character in the game? Could be wrong, but since I found found out that he voiced both Aloth and Eder in PoE, I keep suspecting every character to have Mercer's voice. I got the whispered "I like you, too." from Lohse several times now as well. I was just trying to be friendly to her, I just hope she doesn't pull a Liara on me. Sebille was my first choice as main char, too, but I don't really like her personality. Sure, you don't have to pick one of her personal lines during dialogues, but it still bothered me to against the way the character was meant to be, so I started all over again with a custom char. Now I can do what I want, but miss some content. There is no good solution this custom against pre-made character problem, guess I will have to try one of the backstories in the next playthrough... in a few hundred hours or so . Pet Pal is the first talent I take. It's not been terribly useful so far, just some hints I could have figured out myself, but the animals have the most fun dialogues in the game. I just had a conversation with a bunch of chickens whose eggs were stolen. Kudos to the voice actors, it certainly wasn't easy to deliver the lines "chicken-style".

Play the start of the game as Lohse and let Sebille take a memory taste of you... edit: Also, playing Sebille isn't that crazy. She's stubborn, smug and has a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Lizard and slavery. By mid-act 2, most players will probably want to see the world burn anyway, especially magisters.

That cannibalism ability the elves have is so cool I may have to roll an elf at some point (not Sebille, though, she's CRAZY!) First I thought it's rather disgusting (still do), but once I learned you can occasionally get skills for free and not just some story snippets and healing, I started to like it. And it works with an undead + elven mask, too, so in my game Fane is frequently getting some... additional nutrients. Needs some meat on his bones, the poor guy. I got the whispered "I like you, too." from Lohse several times now as well. I was just trying to be friendly to her, I just hope she doesn't pull a Liara on me. Play the start of the game (the boat) as Lohse and let Sebille take a memory taste of you... Let me guess, Lohse (or her guest) didn't taste well? I'm curently playing a lizard and had this strange lick/bite thing with Malady before I left Fort Joy. The narrator said she bit my earlobe. I still wonder where a lizard is supposed to have earlobes.

Well, so much for Butter. I didn't take up the offer to meet somewhere so when what's-his'name got mad when Sabille refused to reveal who stole ABC, he picked a fight and everyone of his group in that area pitched in.

The lizard goddess Zorl-Stissa sounds a lot like Kate Mulgrew. Would be fitting, another godlike being with occasionally reptile, i. e. dragon-, form like Flemeth was. While I was looking for a full list with DOS 2 VAs (just found one for the main chars), I saw that Ifan is voiced by Chris Finney, who is listed under MEA's "additional voices". He certainly sounds familiar, but I have no idea which characters he voiced in Andromeda.

While I was looking for a full list with DOS 2 VAs (just found one for the main chars), I saw that Ifan is voiced by Chris Finney, who is listed under MEA's "additional voices". He certainly sounds familiar, but I have no idea which characters he voiced in Andromeda. That's cool; Kate Mulgrew. I love her role as Flemeth. No idea who's Chris Finney. Andro leaves no impression on me; no interest in the chars in there bar one or two. They're not the main chars but NPCs who throw side missions. * I restarted so now the group has no lizard or a dwarf. Events are also turning out differently from that initial start. For one, I completely missed the boat and found it this time. So now I'm torn between taking it and not. I guess there's no difference really. I can take the boat and then come back to drop that drawbridge.. I'm finding animal mob porting ridiculous (very cheesy). Beetles can 'port' because they have wings, it's logical. But crocodiles???! I would have taken it better if they were shown charging at the party; crocodiles for all their size and gait on land, are dangerous when they're in attack mode. Batting balls of substance with their tails to whack and slow the party? Are they baseball batters now? I'm also getting annoyed with the environmental dmg pools. That is the one thing the mobs always starts off with. It's like a squirt gun battle every time; how far can I piss a pool? How many can I hit with the piss?

Was reading an article today on Gamespot (CNET? whatever) where they estimate 500K copies sold via Steam so far. Sounds like it's pretty fun but I'm still going to wait for a sale.

For some reason, Lohse's bottomless bag went missing. I'm pretty sure I didn't toss it. Is it possible to get another one?
Also ran into a shriek pole. I didn't know what it was until two of the party died. How do I kill a shriek pole?

Unless you missed it, one of the crocodile (aren't they salamanders actually?) had gloves that grant the teleport skill on him... For some reason, Lohse's bottomless bag went missing. I'm pretty sure I didn't toss it. Is it possible to get another one? There are plenty of bags and purse laying around for the picking. You can actually put any containers and put them in your bag (crate, coffers, even the barrels). It's just that the bags weight less.

I didn't know what it was until two of the party died. How do I kill a shriek pole? Nothing terribly spoilery, just in case. The Shriekers are part of the main quest to get off the island. There are several ways to obtain a "purging wand", which grants you a skill that instantly kills the shriekers. The complete set of Braccus' armour should do the trick as well, haven't tried though. You can get further instructions on how to get a wand in the Seekers' camp or you can try your luck with the witch in the cave near the frost dragon (the witch is a nasty piece of work, also ). And what boat? Was there one on the dungeon where you can get Fane's face ripping tool? I saw a pier with NPCs standing around, thought I would come back later and when I did, no people and no boat. Maybe I missed something there.

Maybe I missed something there. If you encountered the magisters torturing a prisoner and save him, he'll tell you about the boat. I killed him (collateral dmg) in the initial opening PT but didn't bother to reload. The boat is on the next level, before you go up the staircase that takes you to the magister with the face ripper. Thanks for the tip about the Shrieker. Guess I have to wait a while to explore that little bit of area blocked by the shrieker pole. Ok, thanks @ azarhal . I'll grab one of the bags I see recently for her. Yeah, I did get the teleport gloves. I hope Sebille doesn't wear it permanent because the stats are not good.

What is the difference between the skill telekinesis and teleport gloves? One can move items, the other can move items plus people?
I trained up the former on Sebille, thinking she could not be using that pair of gloves forever but it seems telekinesis is useless? I can't find the skill nor even move anything.
