Well, the DLC I would love to see the most would be something like ME3s Citadel DLC to be honest. A DLC where we can spend lots of time with our crew. Definitely would like to see more story driven DLC with lots of cutscenes and dialogue options. A new planet with open eras and many minor sidequests (like Hakkon DLC for DAI) would be okay too, but more story driven DLC is prefered. I would this if it adds new gameplay mechanics to the core game. I felt like MEA's tone was very similar to the Citadel DLC which is probably why many people dont like the writing. I loved it. Especially how the game turned the intensity and stakes up to 11 towards the end without making it feel out of place. Now that it's basically vacation time for the crew, Citadel DLC would work. I would want it to be focused on the "new home" with an open hub world map but also focus on the colonies. They can add a Mass Effect Mini game like gwent or Mass Effect battleship to play crew mates on the tempest or random colonists at outposts. They can do the story around the remaining Kett or possibly around an new enemy type. It would be cool to have an exiled scientist go mad and work with a rogue angara unit to create a mech/robot army out of salvaged kett parts on kadara.

What cliffhanger did Trespasser have? It teased the next location for a future game. Other than that, the ending was rather definitive and complete. It's not as if the final moments of the game were happening and the screen just went black, not letting us know if someone lived or died. Um, the cliffhanger of not knowing if your Inquisitor will be in the next game, hand or no? Plus Solas and his story arc, makes Cory sort of Junior league. The Inquisitor's story is definitely on hold, not knowing how they will resolve things with Solas. That's a cliffhanger to me and lots of ways they can go with that story. I hope they won't handle it like they did with the Warden.

I want a DLC that can challenge a developed character. I'm not even level 40 and nothing in the base game can touch me.
I'm hoping the DLC can offer up some truly challenging encounters and that they develop some mobs that counter sniper and apply a lot of pressure (because I like watching snipers die)

I'd be for something like Jaws of Hakkon; for two reasons.
1. Already mentioned this in another thread, but what I really want out of DLC is a new human female romance option for male Ryder; one who is a lot more colourfull than Cora. There is little point adding that in a story continuation, as romances will have been sorted out by then already.
2. I really feel that depending so completely on poorly understood artifacts made by a race of uncertain status and temperament is too much of a gamble. The Initiative must realize that they need to keep looking until they find at least one world that is naturally habitable; otherwise they could end up in real trouble down they line.

I hope they won't handle it like they did with the Warden. That's not a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger would have been Solas taking the Inquisitor's forearm and the screen fading to black during that scene with the credits rolling. Not only was the location for the next game teased (not a cliffhanger), but we even received an epilogue and witnessed what the Inquisitor, as well as everybody else, was up to. Just because Solas' story is not finished doesn't make it a cliffhanger. As far as the Inquisitor is concerned, he/she makes it rather clear his/her fighting days are over. That being said, the Inquisitor is going to Tevinter with the rest of the inner circle. At the very least, the Inquisitor will have a cameo in DA4, much like Hawke had a cameo in DAI.

1 and 3, preferably. 2, unless utterly phenomenal, won't be all that impressive given the gear we already have.
Ideally, we see something that moves the plot along (#3), while adding new planets to explore (#1). Done right, they could even throw in a new boss to change things up from the Architect fights. Maybe you have to destroy a colony of some sort of critter, and kill the brood queen (or something) in order to make the planet safe and reach the point of viability so you can drop the outpost.
New weapons and armor just don't seem like they'd be much more than cosmetic at this point.

I'd be inclined to say story based DLC, but I'm always wary of saying it should move the main plot forward because it ultimately risks making the main story of the base game feel incomplete without the additional DLC. and I don't like the idea of paying extra to get the full ending. I'd rather see something like Lair of the Shadow Broker which is story heavy but isn't necessarily about the main story. Good point. Shadow Broker remains one of my favorites because of how well it was done. If they could do DLC like that one, you could expand the hell out of the story, without messing with the story. It'd feel like it fit in, despite not being essential to the core game. Citadel was another one that worked really well, and I think a similar DLC would be welcomed by a lot of folks.

Has Bioware revealed how many dlc packs we are going to receive? My guess is three or four going by the more recent games, but plans change from time to time.

Well we'll be doing the Quarian Ark thing just about definitely. There's also hints that the mysterious benefactor is up to something. So that's at least two.

Has Bioware revealed how many dlc packs we are going to receive? My guess is three or four going by the more recent games, but plans change from time to time. We don't know about single player DLC. Multiplayer DLC, on the other hand, seems to be having three phases which will provide numerous additions to the map list. How much DLC BioWare does will depend on the budget and the amount of effort that goes into that DLC. If BioWare decides to do a variety pack again, then I wouldn't expect more than three over a period of a year or so. I could probably envision something along the lines of ME2, where we get two decently-sized, story-driven DLCs.

As much as I like DLC's that preferably extend on a main story - I'm also a huge fan of more aesthetic types DLC's such as outfits and hairstyles. So either type would be fine with me. Oh, any chance of a Kimono casual wear for my lovely Japanese character? It'll be a nice cultural reference for the character.

What I want is very clear and simple.
I want the remaining Milky Way races introduced into the game. Mass Effect isn't the same without Hanar, Quarians, Batarians, Elcor, Drell, Volus and Vorcha.
At the very least, a 'missing Quarian Ark' DLC might be as good a place to start as any. From what I can recall of dialogue early in the game, there was also a Hanar/Drell ark set off, but not arrived yet - or have I remembered that incorrectly?
In any case, that's the kind of thing I'd like to see.
