You might have noticed that I was very specific in saying "I've yet to meet", which means that that particular argument was completely anecdotal. My arguments are fact-based, and have little to do with personal preferences or opinions. The Ai needs to make optimal use of any and all resources available to provide the best possible chance of survival, period. How does bringing a lifetime supply of hormones for transsexuals fits into your idea of optimal use of resources? You're assuming that trans people would need additional hormone therapies. With the scientific, medical, genetic advancements in MEU, I'm not making any such assumption. This has already been covered. We know that they brought additional genetic material with them. The genetic contribution of any one individual is not necessary; if it was, they would have screened out anyone unwilling to contribute. Again, already covered. Breeding is but one role they need filled, and orientation is not related to fertility or desire to procreate. You might have noticed that although there are 20K individuals on each Ark, plus some of each species on the Nexus, they brought only 1200 (IIRC) krogan along. They apparently wanted to include krogan, but had reasons for limiting their numbers.

Ok, I am sorry that I continued conversation with you after I said that I will not, because I clearly should not have. Seeing how you readily invalidate anything that not fits into your view with "the scientific, medical, genetic advancements in MEU" is a no way to have a discussion. Because otherwise anyone can come up with any bullshit however illogical, unlikely or out of context it is, claim that "With the scientific, medical, genetic advancements in MEU" it will be done, and declare himself a victor of discussion. I might as well say that "With the scientific, medical, genetic advancements in MEU" most gays and trans will be healed and become straight, but that would be no less bullshit than what you say that in MEU everyone has perfect body. Again,in that case there should be no ugly or even plain women, because "With the scientific, medical, genetic advancements in MEU" cosmetic surgery would be trivial, yet somehow Andromeda excels in having a largest number of unattractive women in Mass Effect game to date. Sorry, that's not how people discuss things. I think you really need to brush up on your social as well as logical skills. This time I am done talking to you for good.

Maybe, but he is not wrong. If we are going to have ugly people in the game why not fat people too? Then we have fat, ugly people... Great!

My arguments are based on what I've seen in the game. I haven't seen any overweight individuals ever in ME, but have seen characters who are not straight. Plus an entire species that is mono-gendered, so it's pretty apparent that MEU does not consider uniform heterosexuality a worthwhile goal. Also: I did not say that everyone in MEU has a perfect body. I did suggest that obesity would be a thing of the past. Taste is subjective, and styles change. I started an NG+ last night and decided to customize Scott this time - if you think the females are unattractive, take a look at the males. Noted.

No more obesity in the future due to healthier nutrition and technology. So BW hates fat people so much they canonically removed them from the entire universe. Not a single overweight person in all of the Milky Way or Andromeda. Can you imagine what would happen if they did that to any other minority group? Holy cow, I thought we were just gonna need an apology, its starting to look like a protest or a march or something is in order.

Holy cow, I thought we were just gonna need an apology, its starting to look like a protest or a march or something is in order. It's comparable to curing cancer or alzheimers. There is nothing wrong with fat people. They're just regular people. But things like obesity and diabetes has killed people. In the Mass Effect universe it appears that healthier living has become more commonplace. Are you saying it's bad to promote healthier living? Is is so wrong in the futuristic setting of mass effect? I don't mean to offend anyone who's overweight. I'm simply saying that due to technological advances, things like obesity would become rare, if not gone.

They wouldn't have taken overweight people with them to Andromeda. Overweight People may not have fit in cryo pods - Problem. Overweight People would have to eat more - Problem. Overweight People may need more medical attention and resources - Problem. Overweight People would not be ideal sexual partners for reproduction - Problem. So they left them all behind for the Reapers. That's pretty damn arrogant.

Reasons why you want me (a fatty) on your Pathfinder team:
1. I'm slower, if something is chasing us they are going to catch me first
2. I have trouble finding adequate cover so I'm an easier target
3. I always make sure to carry extra snacks
4. I know all the good places to eat, especially for dessert
5. I make an excellent wing man and don't mind talking with the less attractive friend on those nights out on the Nexus

You seriously expect fat characters in the game when they couldn't even make different muscle scales for male bodies and the only body variation is Cora and the other females (Cora has body dimensions exclusive to ehr compared to other females)?
They couldn't even make different faces for asari or angara or Salarians, what makes you think they'd do the animation work and art assets to include a fat person?
More importantly, how many fat astronauts do you see in space? We don't even know the full consequences of space on human physiology, which is why we send healthy people only up to space stations to minimize potential harm.

In MEU you don't have to be a trained astronaut to fly in space. Space travel there is trivialized, so anyone from farmers to presidents can make interstellar travel without needing any training. You don't need to have special training to be a passenger on board of airplane. And space stations there are not like what we have nowadays - with cramped space and lack of gravitation. Space stations in MEU are more akin to nowadays oil rigs, for example.

Huh this thread... smh
Fat is essential to our organism, at cellular level as a form of energy, metabolic and other crucial functions; to maintain body temperature, hell, even to protect the body from trauma. Having a reserve of it was a biological advantage to our survival as a species. So this lore ME argument is pathetic, as it makes no sense.
People can be overweight due to their organism (sickness [hypothyroidism; diabetes mellitus, etc]; natural slower metabolism); unhealthy lifestyle (overeating, a diet of processed food, sedentarism); or a combo.
Note that: our modern society writes anyone with some small fat in their belly, ass and thighs as unhealthy; which isn't necessary true. Someone being skinny doesn't make them automatically healthy; someone have a small/moderate reserve of fat doesn't mean they'll drop dead any minute; i.e. they can perform their daily activities with no problem, yes, even physical.
