There has been some confusion lately on whether Throw can prime targets for biotic explosions, whether you need rank 5A evolution (Duration) to do so and whether 1.05 update had something to do with all this. It's time to put an end to all the rumours and misinformation.
Throw primes unshielded, unarmoured targets (i.e. "red health") for biotic explosions regardless of how many ranks you put into it or which evolutions you choose. This has been the case from day 1, and the patch didn't affect this in any way.
However, without rank 5A evolution the priming window is extremely short. (How short? I'm not sure. Less than a second, I'd say.) This, combined with the fact that most detonators are not actually instant, makes taking advantage of the priming somewhat tricky. Yet, with some practise, BEs can be pulled off quite consistently when you learn the timing. (Whether or not it's worth the trouble is another thing entirely.)
Here's a video both as proof for the disbelievers and as an example for those who wish to replicate the feat:

Good to know. Ive primed with it before, but couldn't figure out how to replicate it. My best guess was that it was when the target was mid air or whatever.. before they smashed into the wall and took damage.

Overload is just the same by the way; it's first second or two where the enemy is shocked is also a primer, even though the game only states detonator.

Cool. Seems pointless for me to use it on any of the ED/Throw kits though. If I've got ED off cooldown, I'm using it first.

I sometimes ask myself "What enemy would be stupid enough to walk into a puddle of electricity, or a Trip Mine with a big red lazer sticking out of it?" Then I remember that Outlaws are pugs, because they don't use Gels or Rockets either, and it all makes perfect sense.

they need to extend the timing window, from 1 second to 3 seconds to allow for latency to bad hosts they also need ot decrease cooldown times for skills, being forced to wait between combo's is seriously annoying, performing one should grant instant cooldown on rank 6 imho

Yeah, also energy drain has longer base cooldown (15s) than throw, and I think is still slightly longer cooldown than throw after taking all the recharge speed perks too. So that means there's even less incentive to go beyond rank 1 throw for tech bursts since throw already has a decently fast base cooldown of 10s. All my sentinels have been rocking 1 throw and 6 in everything else and going for tech bursts all match long.

Absolutely. they need to extend the timing window, from 1 second to 3 seconds to allow for latency to bad hosts they also need ot decrease cooldown times for skills, being forced to wait between combo's is seriously annoying, performing one should grant instant cooldown on rank 6 imho I don't quite agree... powers and combos are in need of a buff (or, rather, enemy hit points need to be nerfed), but if given the choice, I'd rather have stronger powers you can use less often than weaker powers you can use more often. I quite like what the cooldown times are right now. Cool. Seems pointless for me to use it on any of the ED/Throw kits though. If I've got ED off cooldown, I'm using it first. Yeah, also energy drain has longer base cooldown (15s) than throw, and I think is still slightly longer cooldown than throw after taking all the recharge speed perks too. All my sentinels have been rocking 1 throw and 6 in everything else and going for tech bursts all match long. Getting cooldowns as low as possible matters, because Barricade is the primary source of tech bursts in bigger engagements. Personally I just feel all the other rank 6's are worth their points, so I leave Throw at rank 1.

A Waifu, in contrast to a harem, is the love between one man and his one and only Waifu. Previously you need to take this rank for it to prime at all.

I just tried it with the asari huntress. Throw then lance right after. Did not work. Did atleast 20 times. Visually they look primed but it doesn't detonate.
Edit: I played another match and I managed to pull it off 4 times. I press lb then rb immediatly. It is not consistent.

Yeah, the timing is very tricky, which is a pity, as Huntress could certainly use a reliable primer for Lance.

He's probably with Female Human Infiltrator Skank Face Race, that anorexic little Millennial homewrecker. She thinks she's all that because she's legal now. Well that works both ways, and she better pray that I don't catch her skinny ass at Wal-Mart.

(Whether or not it's worth the trouble is another thing entirely.) Here's a video both as proof for the disbelievers and as an example for those who wish to replicate the feat: your not my reel dad

Indeed. Tech Bursts are just way too good to pass up. ED does not prime for tech bursts, does it? Or does it work same as Overload in that regard? I've played quite a few games with HSent and never noticed setting up any combos on my own.
