Bound By Flame
My laceration is all healed up, but my first day back at work saw me pulling a muscle in my forearm (probably due to lower threshold activity). It's been about a week and a half, and today it feels like I can try some gaming without pain. I took a couple of tries to get the strategy, but Vulcan just defeated Lord Blackfrost. I figured out that the fight is dramatically easier once I rid the field of his caster and archer clones, especially since they like to charm and enslave my own companions.
A quick check on armor and consumables, and Vulcan stepped into the Worldheart. After being taunted by some spirits, she stepped onto the plateau and was quickly killed. Ouch! I had Vulcan lay a field of traps at the ledge, crafted a couple dozen more, and generated a new hard save. After a few more deaths, I realized the dodge can be used at the last second to avoid the demon's fan of white flame orb projectiles without actively needing to run out of the way. I managed to get through the first dragon stage, but got hit in the crossfire on the next stage. Then proceeded to die about five or six times in less than ten minutes during the first stage again. One of the tries almost got me to the dragon again, but Vulcan dodged at the wrong moment, got stuck against the environment, and proceeded to be one-shotted by a dagger combo.
For the moment, I am taking a break.
If I get stuck there for a little while, in between attempts, I will either play more of my Inquisition alt run, or start this other game I had wanted to finish before Veilguard releases.

So played a bit of Baldurs Gate 3 didn't do much but did learn that clicking an item in the inventory, holding down shift and clicking another item lets you move them and all the items between them. And like. It's really nice when unloading my trash unto unlucky vendors for sweet sweet gold. Only if it worked in the save menu as well. Anyways, caved in and went to Calvard. Awww yiss. Trails into Daybreak.Seems like I need two runs for all the achivos which is fine. Playing on nightmare because I hate myself and if I can do it I'll be done with it. Done with the Prologue so far and it's looking pretty neat. Could've really used Field Battles in Trails into Reveries because those two second intro and end scenes do build up if you're doing many fights in a row. Really enjoying the look of the game. It's pretty. They've cutdown the amount of background npc dialog. Now only 5 out of 20 in an area have something to say. Which I'm fine with since it sometimes felt like my eyes were melting trying to absorb all the lines in the other games. Also the Chat bubble grays out when the dialog is actually done so it's not sneakily hiding some non important casual gossip from me. So far, promising and good and looking forwards where it goes.

Morrowind
Finished all quests for the Balmora Mages Guild. Last quest I had to go kill a "necromancer" in Maar Gan. Turns out the necromancer was actually a healer and well liked by the community. I agree to let her leave Vvaredenfel and go to the mainland. I returned to the leader of the Mages Guild in Balmora and told her the necromancer was dead. Advanced two ranks and now am a Magician. Went to the Ald'ruhn Mages guild and did quests for their leader Edwinna a fellow Breton. One quest had me steal a book from a fellow mage in Vivec. Stealing is usually a crime in all of the factions except House Telvanni. Telvanni don't care if you steal something from a fellow member and got away with it then you deserved the item. Anyway did a quest where I had to find a not so rare Dwememr book. Had to get a potion from the leader of the Sadrith Mora Mages Guild. Had to do a quest where I had to investigate a commotion in one the fellow guild members house. Turn's out her inexperienced apprentice summoned a scamp and lost control of it. Lastly had to return the book I previously stole back to it's owner without her knowing. Next stop is a finding a Dwemer tube in one of their citadels near Ald Velothi.

Morrowind, my favorite of the franchise It is my first and favorite Elder Scrolls game. The game oozes with atmosphere. I also love the Dunmer and aside from slavery I love their culture. House Telvanni and House Redoran are my favorite native Dunmer factions. Don't like House Hlaalu they're Imperial sympathizers. Also Morrowind has my favorite and most charismatic antagonist in the series Dagoth Ur. I am using the OpenMW engine along with collection of vanilla+ mods I downloaded from Nexus. I also added the two Rise of House Telvanni mods, and the Taskmaster of House Telvanni mod. With the OpenMW engine I have had no crashes. Also the mod limit has been increased from 255 to 2147483646! That is overkill and unlike Oblivion and Skyrim I only use mods that mainly improve textures and add things that Bethesda never implemented but that concept art still exists on the web.

GoW Ragnarok So, ignoring the one idiot stupid flaw that the devs need not make, the rest of the game is enjoyable. At the moment, I've Freya as the sidekick and I definitely prefer her company to Atreus in this sequel because he gets me very annoyed sometimes because if I could, I would tell him; don't hem and haw lad. Speak up! When you're asked a question. Stand straight! Answer properly and clearly, instead of sullenly with shifty eyes. Not that I don't understand his attitude towards Kratos. The most stern cold parent ever. No give. Can't even tell what's his mood, his feelings when being told something Atreus is very very very sure would get his gander cooked. I did a lot of map exploration, trying to get everything but inevitably, I'm held back by the lack of a weapon that Kratos will only get in story progression. So some areas and stuff cannot be accessed. The dialogues are very good that I'm enjoying all the exchanges between Kratos, Freya and Mirmir. Freya will sometimes asks Karatos for stories of his homeland and she'll tell or clarified stories or some tales Mirmir had heard. If they sat down at the campfire, doing nothing but chat, I'm very willing to just sit down with them and listen. It'll make my day!

Borderlands 3So I got Avengers Flashbacks tonight because we had to quit 'mid mission' So lets see how that goes and it might be awhile before we even have our answer. But do sometimes have limited playing time. Story took an interesting turn. May not have fully paid attention to establish exactly why we were doing this but after roughly I think just two chapters on Promethea we were off to our next planet...Athenus or something along those lines. I find this interesting because obviously we weould be going back to Promethea but its still kind of fun because Promethea we barely knew ye. I must say though that this game is a bit on the impressive side on how its differentiated the planets and the story. Granted since we didn't really see any side quests on the way think this is going to be a very short 'dungeon' type bit. But we had to go out and help on a mountain side monastary where Maya, the Siren from the last game, was hiding. And well in addition to helping out the monks or what not we had to help out a vaguely Sera esque Teenager who was into grave robbing which is what we needed to do to advance our own purposes. Anyways after all this went off to get the first Key fragment thus back to Promethea. Where we actually had a nice little action set piece where Maliwan has set up a super laser in orbit and is using it to try and nuke Atlas into submission...question why does he not just wipe out the corporate head quarters with Lorelei in it? I think he is borrowing from the Shadow and Vorlon school of war fighting. Anyways though the laser is on an asteroid so after we hijack a shuttle we go up to try and shut it down...and after fighting through a lot of security we basically had to quit early. The thing to the PS5 says we are only 40 % through the mission. Side bar though this game is one of those with in lore respawning tech. So everyone is like 'kill the Vault Hunter kill the Vault Hunter'...why is hat a big deal when we will just respawn? Well then I realized the same thing applies to the guards. That the reason they keep on respawning is maybe they do have access to the tech. Combat in this game is really growing on me. I don't think it just jived with me the first time with BL 2 but there is just something, really engaging on it. Maybe playing the PS5. But I got through it and well have found a couple of neat weapons. Dahl in general is becoming pretty high on my favorite list. First Dahl had variable zoom sniper with that 'scope on top of a scope' thing. And second one zoom scope, with alternative fire modes for each, non explosive. And I made use of the lost weapons cache from last time which gave me access to the best new weaon that will be so hard to move on from. Atlas weapons 'thing' seems to be they have tracking tech. This one has darts. Makes it a lot easier to actually tag enemies. And I discovered half way through the monestary it actually has a pretty good fire rate, near fully automatic. I used it a lot of times to just carpet bomb fools without aiming. Almost makes the sniper redundant. Almost.

GoW Ragnarok Ah well, I got the teen back (I'd rather have Freya. ), after a nice candid chat between him and Kratos, both admitting what they did wrong. It always bodes well, when parent and child are honest with each other and understand their actions are motivated by concern for the other. Got into a very annoying fight. How can one not be when the aggressor taunts because he foresees every move Kratos make? The spear is the key to getting him down. To inflict damage, Kratos has to throw three spears and then detonate. The spear is special because it can replicate five times. The goon is extremely arrogant so it's very satisfying when Kratos killed him. Of course not before the dork head refused to accept Kratos's mercy. I, for one, don't see the point of letting him go. He's rotten, arrogant and I'm surprised Odin could even control him. In any case, Kratos's added another God to his killing count. Presently on a rather big map. I was rather dismayed when I realised how big it is because I keep getting side tracked off the the main path, picking up side quests which I know will eventually build up the whole picture of what happened to the place along with an interesting history revelation of Faye, Kratos's wife. Can't wait.
