I'm rattling through Half Life at considerable speed - actually faster than I imagined, and I'm not trying to play quickly, I'm playing it as I play all games - slowly, taking my time and exploring everywhere. Nonetheless I'm already up to 'Power Up'. Seeing those two marines at the beginning being kerbstomped by the big Gargantua never gets old. I think the main reason for the speed is that I'm so familiar with the game. Played it so many times, and I know where everything is, and can mostly remember the location of every enemy, and all the tactics to beat every scenario. So the tentacle monster in 'Blast' Pit died last night. Creeping around those furious, loud, bashing, crashing tentacles that pound upon the floor (too close for comfort) is still tense and creepy as hell; even after all these years, and even though I know how to avoid them. One hit and I'm dead. The ominous groaning sounds that the monster makes doesn't help matters either. I play in a dark room with headphones which adds to the immersion. Getting past them and into the other sections of the rocket propulsion chamber feels like a reprieve and a gap in the storm. I wonder about the sanity of the chambers' engineers. Is it really the case that the only way to turn on the main fan is to run under it, press a button to activate it, and then rush up a ladder between the blades as fast as possible, hoping the blades don't hit you? Way to go guys - here's your gold star in workplace safety!

Picked up Swery's "the missing" and I have a hard time enjoying it. Movement is very sluggish and the puzzles time consuming because of the sluggishness. I think I had the most fun reading collectible text messages so far.

I didn't want to start DOOM II, but the great level design and nostalgia got me into it. This level is where the game gets difficult. I probably prefer to play Unreal 1 expansion instead...

See, any sensible person would be covering up their boobs just in case a Daedric arrow smacks them in the back.
Open Cities is amusing for all the Dragon fights that happen in the cities.
"And the woman on the door is a Forsworn Agent! You're not getting out of here alive!" "....."
Prisoner chic.
Don't mind me, I'll just wait for you all to kill each other then loot the bodies for any keys or gold. Carry on.

So two funny things happened in FO 4 last night.
First off Preston Garvey photobombed a cutscene I was playing when I was in Pickman's gallery I think. When I was talking to Pickman. The guy gave me a little bit of a 'this character is the devil' like Gaunter O'Dimm from the Witcher but I left him to his own devices.
Then in entrance to Vault 81 I tried to jump the line more or ess, tried to jump across the bridge before it closed and I didn't make it and fell right through the floor. So I basically then hopped back up off to the side and then back into the bridge as the final gate was opening all like 'ta da!'
Haven't done much in the Vault so far just talked to the kids about how Preston was scared. Also not sure I wanna do the Ashes quest. I mean the bitch insulted me (I guess I might've been mean to her?) and then on top of it it just reaks of pure fetch quest itus. But then I almost suspect I have to go out and get Ashes in order to progress and get the kid bit and then investigate the other Vault.

Gotta love Skyrim. I don't not anymore at least in my latest PT i could not finish the Thieves guild questline because of Karliah ( not the first time though ) she does not pull the chain she just leaves the cave and disappears. And there are soooooo many more bugs glitches ^ still in the game that for me the fun is over. The Dragonborn questline the Dawnguard questline even the main questline i sometimes cannot finish.

Allods. Contiuned my leveling through zones I never experienced. Got my Priden girl to lvl 70, which meant I finally got second permanent mount, this time way, way faster than previous one. Up till now leveling chests were rewarding temporary mounts, so yay, right? Well... today, when I wanted to start the game, it wanted to verify files. Not the first time so ok. At 99%... "Something's blocking process, most likely antivirus"... Adding to exceptions, closing everything else, nothing worked. And then, by accident, I deleted the game. Not. Dealing. With. Your. Bullshit. Today. Game. So I started Destiny 2 to murder-knife things to the face to show how happy I am about current Allods development

KoA Exploring more in the desert, found the House of Valor. Beat the snot out of the reigning champ and now I own the arena and everything in it. Got another house, but this one doesn't have any crafting stations in it, and the chests and whatnot are still marked red when I open them. Uh, how can it be stealing when it is now MY house?!
I'm kinda wishing I'd done the breaking the siege quest before heading to this region but too late now. Eventually I'll get to Adessa to pick up the gnome portion of the main quest line. Seems like pretty much everyone in this universe is shady in some way or other.

Fallout 4. Killed some raiders, well actually a lot of them. Ate their flesh to Cait's disgust. Helped out the robots get their old wooden vessel to fly. Fly? WTF??? Helped out the Finch's get their granddad's sword back and their worthless son. Was tempted to shoot his dumb ass but Jen thought maybe there would be an extra reward in his safe return. Feasted on the corpses of the Forge to regain hit points lost. Cait was chucking her guts by the time we left. The Barrett sniper rifle did a good job bringing down the scum. I see you! Explosive rounds at close quarters. Damn, injured myself. No need to let fresh meat go to waste... Same place, different deathclaw. Sure just stand there as I keep taking head shots at you. We’re off to outer space We’re leaving mother Earth To save, the human race Our Star Blazers
Searching for a distant star Heading off to Iscandar Leaving all we love behind Who knows what dangers we’ll find
We must be strong and brave Our home we have to save If we don’t in just one year Mother Earth will disappear
Fighting with the Gamalons We won’t stop until we’ve won Then we’ll return and when we arrive The Earth will survive with our Star BlazersWell, they got your name correct.

Wait, cannibalism is a thing in FO4? Where is FOX News heralding the fall of civilization?! I guess they’re otherwise occupied, but still. 😂 That’s gross and hilarious. Are there any mechanical advantages to eating those people?

I had some competition on the landmarks in DZ09 today at lunch. Well, since we were three going at it it meant that we cleared three times as fast. All well and good. I'm not sure if they wanted to share loot from the boxes though. Extracting from DZ09 tends to be a breeze though strangely enough. To far North for lazy rogues perhaps?.

Did a few more bounties and stuff in Diablo 3 but ultimately, without story, it's not the same, so I chose to go backwards. Tried Diablo 1 with the Belzebub mod (awesome mod btw) but after making my way through level 4 and still having no chance whatsoever against the Butcher, I realized that the game's structure and pacing has gotten a little too oldschool for me after all. Too many inconveniences (the inventory is just to goddamn small!!!). So I just watched a video that went through all the lore tomes and the ending cinematic on youtube - hehehe - and started up a Paladin in Diablo 2 instead. Lot's of fun so far, played for about 3.5 hours and just got to the cursed monastery. By the way, watching the (awesome) Diablo 2 intro again gave me a good chuckle. When Marius is telling his story, how he ended up following the dark wanderer, I thought Blizzard could have perfectly paraphrased that last line at BlizCon: "Why did we follow them? We don't know, why do things happen as they do when money is involved? All we knew is that when NetEase beckoned, we had to follow them. From that moment, we traveled together ... East ... Always into the east."

Just recently re-played Diablo 1 myself and it was definitely a challenge! For the longest time I couldn't figure out why, until I realized that, while each class has access to spells, there are no special abilities or powers for them. It really is just a hack-fest. Oh, my poor mouse buttons! Rogue was way easier for ranged enemies than Warrior, but she got left in Hell at some point.

There are pretty-much no fan-made visual mods, texture packs etc. (at least ones that work) available for the original Half Life, which is absolutely staggering given the game's popularity, so I'll be playing it unmodded, save for the official Valve high res model pack. So, I take it you are going for the absolute vanilla experience then? 'Cause Black Mesa IS amazing. Got a hankering to play through it again recently but now waiting for Xen (yes, I want to believe. ).

Tried out Keepsake today and had a blast. Forgot it had a achivos and since the internet was down I figured I could just enjoy it and focus on it. Then the net came back and I realized I missed 4 of them. But no biggie they'll be easy to nab if I replay later.
So just kept playing. I love how it looks, sort of old and a bit janky, but really smooth and fairly detailed. If that makes any sense. And the music is lovely, except sometimes during the dialog the band goes nuts and plays way too loud. But it kinda adds to the charm in it's wonky way.
And since it was pretty stable and there weren't any real threats around, I didn't really bother saving much since, well I figured no need. Then suddenly the damn thing crashed and since there is no auto save I lost a lot of gameplay :C. Granted with a lot of waffling and quite a few breaks, but still. Why you do this game? Still, caught up to where I was fairly quickly since I knew where things were this time around. Turns out there are three points where it's prone to crash, so I'll keep an eye for them later. But the game is just so gosh darn charming I'm not even mad.
As for what was done gameplay wise, a bit of gardening, a bit of puzzling and a whole lot of walking around.

Does Steam have some sort of licensing agreement with GOG that for CDPR games Steam must charge more or something?

I think that's a mistake. It is showing at $29.99 for me on Steam, same price as GOG. That is USD....what is your currency?

Oh wait, Steam is showing local currency. My bad or is it. Other games showed the same pricing on both platforms so I don't understand why there's the difference for this title. Maybe it's a typo on GOG's part.
