I'm still not done with my latest FO4 settlement. I "had" to download this one neon sign mod at last as well as a new vanilla clothes mesh up mod. They were easily installed manually, thank god. Couldn't find a hooker outfit on Nexus that doesn't use CBBE so I had to use the fancy red dress. Does not exactly fit the rundown style of the place but whatever. Let's not get hung up on details too much... *cough* I'm conducting a sort of IQ test on my settlers assigning them jobs. Half of them are too stupid to find their work place. Others manage to do the exact same job just fine when I swap them. Fascinating. So after switching settlers over and over, I've managed to have most of them do what they are supposed to now. Most of the time. Yay?
The dog must have suffered brain damage over time because it can't find its way to any of the two dog houses in front of its nose anymore. I spawned two more dogs through a mod and they are doing fine. So I hope they'll take care of their mentally challenged buddy.
The spawns for Hangman's Alley must be messed up. First I had a friggin deathclaw spawn inside the second floor of a building well within the settlement limit. One would think that particular enemy type would be disabled by default because how would it even fit through the narrow entry point? Oh well. Then a bunch of supermutants spawned inside the toilet room... I'm aware that some settlements have buggy spawns like that but Hangman's sure is the worst case so far.

Continued playing Assassin's Creed in my dreams. First some view points and casual stuff, then there was a main quest about collecting the spirits of children with parents who mistreated them. Wake up before getting the last soul, make myself fall asleep so I can finish the quest and save the game. Wrap up the quest, wake up again and realize that dreams don't save and I wasted time I could be calm sleeping on a action dream. Luckily had 30 mins before I had to get up proper, but that happened.
Then played a bit of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in the waking world. Rant and rambling in the spoilers. Made the decision to just ignore the full synchro since it was making me unreasonably mad. Like I had to stop the game to calm down and vent by writing a rant. Then reasoned me down with the fact that if it's making me mad, it's not fun and that nullifies the point of a game.
Was going to quit playing for the day, but ended up lollygagging around and went on a shopping spree for shops so I could shop some more. Then ended up poking the main quest a little and met two lovely ladies from the second game and my bae. Who now has a bae. But she's such a bae that it's okay. Hehe. But it did make me wonder, are there any smoochable fellows in Odyssey? Since that Roxane was up there a few posts ago. Asking for...well me. Not so much details, just yes or no and if yes, do they have mustaches?
Got to sequence four in the main plot, but most of the play time went in vandalizing towers and buying stuff. So that was nice. Ignoring the full synchro was also a good move, because the quests are real fun when you take your time. And then ironically ended up getting full score in most of them. The timed ones and no hit ones are not going to happen anytime soon, but I can resist a good swim. Once in a while.
Also ended up looking up some things to confirm my suspicion of the length of the game, which in turn made my little outburst at the start way more sillier. So tomorrow session will probably be a lot more positive. Except for the archers of course...
Admittedly not many of them died this session. One got kicked off the roof, a couple got stabbed and one was mildly threatened. Encountered that one on the roof and couldn't jump off it in time, so was going to walk over to stab him. So walk up right in his face and push the "Stabbystab" button. Except Ezio doesn't stab him. Just pushes the blade out, then back in. Push a couple of time more and Ezio just keeps flashing his blade with the archer pointing his crossbow at him and shouting at him to leave. So okay, fine I'll leave and you keep your life. Jump off the roof, every single damn guard in the area goes aggro and we have a merry little chase around the district until Ezio get's lost in a leaf bale. Didn't bother to find that archer again, in case if he was still immune, but it was a bit of a highlight of the session. Another was finding an archer trying to run on a roof, except he had sunk into it so it was just his torso waggling around in terror. Let him live too.
And finally managed to tackle a Borgia messenger. In the second game I managed to make one trip off a roof (didn't push him, he just freaked out and tossed himself on the cold, hard pavement) and then those archers shot a few down. So that was quite fun.
Also had a fun moment with two guards. Was gracefully trying to get off a roof, which means I was struggling and ended up leaping at someone. Except this time it was a guard. He of course got real mad and started chasing me, but the buddy he was talking to just started laughing. Like proper grab his belly and bend over from the chuckles. Didn't even help his buddy try to catch Ezio, who once more got lost in some leaves.
And that's it for the highlights. Beggar ladies are back in town, but since they aint pushing they are fine. Almost felt nostalgic for the "No! YOU don't understand, I need the money!" . Those were the days.

Full synchronisation in those earlier games was a nightmare especially as some of the jumping at angles etc was really difficult with KB&M, I did the same as you Curious Crow I noted it and if I completed well well done me but otherwise That said for the games from AC3 onwards I did make more of an effort but I think AC:Black Flag was the only one I went out of my way to get 100% and the since AC Syndicate I have not even bothered.

Thinking of calling it quits in Deus Ex. The game just isn't interesting enough for me to have to redo every encounter just to progress the tiniest amount. Sneaking around takes forever and even point blank shots often barely do any damage. Seriously, if I shoot someone in the gut or, especially, the head, they shouldn't just turn around and run off. It's not fun, and the setting/story isn't interesting enough so far to make me care to tough it out. I'll try to finish the current mission I'm on and see if it gets better after that.
Edit: Well, add another one to the "screw your stupid gameplay - I'm done" pile. Sigh.

Oh man what a decision I had to make in "Tyranny." I had to choose to either let the Disfavored or the Scarlet Chorus lead Kyros' armies. Let me explain a bit about both factions. The Disfavored are a small legion of honorable, loyal and evil men and women. I mean we just sealed a village and burned it down with the villagers still inside. And it was the Disfavored that came up with the idea. But their leader Archon Graven Ashe seems more down to earth and noble. The Scarlet Chorus on the other hand are chaotic and evil. They wanted to spare the village and villagers not because it was the right thing to do. But because they wanted to either enslave them or kill any who refused. That is how they have a larger army than the Disfavored. They're are a bunch of murderers, cannibals and rapists all lead by a mysterious figure called Archon The Voices of Nerat. Nerat is more chaotic than Graven Ashe due to all the voices in his head. Anyway since throughout the game I had sided with the Disfavored I chose to let them lead Kyros' army. Kyros is the evil overlord by the way. This lead to a conflict between the two Archons. Graven Ashe raised his maul and when he was about to strike down the The Voices of Nerat. Nerat disappeared in a green mist. So yeah now I have to assist the Disfavored in taking Vendriens Well the rebel base of the Oathbreakers, while at the same time keeping an eye out on the Scarlet Chorus. I also have to do it before Kyros' edict takes place.

Just about done with my settlement build... Reassigned the last learning impaired settlers, and either they stick with the new spot now or they don't. I don't care anymore. I have idle markers everywhere, so even if they don't perform their jobs they might still be seen taking drugs or smoking. So that's good enough. Hangman's Alley is going to be run by a former Operator who escaped the cleansing of Nuka World. His ghoul girlfriend is a sort of Heisenberg chemist who developed a new drug called Frenzy. Twice as powerful as Psycho Jet, the user does not feel any pain whatsoever for 24 hours. It's very expensive and sold only to a select clientele. Mostly raider gangs who are planning a massive raid and want send their grunts charging high as a kite, keep them on their feet after serious injury. Everyone else gets the cheap drugs. Here's a preview of the neon sign front: Not overly impressive, I know. But I'm happy with the overall result. It's a pretty dark settlement at night in the back where all the low lives sleep.
If the game doesn't crap out on me I can start recording soon. Just an hour ago the graphics went crazy for no reason, walls of distortion and transparent floor, couldn't see a thing anymore. Reloading didn't help. Thought, shit, this is it. Savefile broken. But rebooting the game seems to have fixed it. I just hope there isn't something wrong with the two latest mods I installed for this settlement... That would mean most of the work the past few days was for nothing. Fingers crossed it was a random glitch...

Fallout 4. Not doing any quest stuff at the moment. Just randomly exploring the world, seeing new places, getting banters from various companions and taking a shotgun blast to the knee. Guess Jessica's adventuring days are done. Thanks Cait! Cait is Fallout 4's Ian. I'm lucky I didn't give her one of my powerful machine guns, because this is a dead is dead game. No not really. Praying, McCready? Well, your god didn't stop the world from being burned to ash. Ha! Legless ghoul. Come on little buddy, crawl to me, you can do it. Just another bloody day in the Commonwealth. Someone has to clean up the raider vermin. Thanks, Cait! I think we'll return home and I'll get the dog. Dogmeat doesn't dish out friendly fire at least.

in FO4, I actually just found the irish chick from the pitt. never went in there before, and she's...interesting.
I've also not joined the minute men, so pressly isn't annoying. Instead, I've setup camp at the red-rocket gas station. I also setup a recruitment beacon, and turned it off. But folks are still showing up anyway. So I've setup some crops to grow there. But I need to find some tatoes, and corn plants to plant over there. Start making some adhesive.

Yes, the first Deus Ex highly encourages stealth with it's gameplay, combat can be pretty frustrating. How far along are you? I would encourage you to stay with it as the story (especially later on) does get very interesting and belongs to the best I I know in Video games.
Speaking of dystopias, I currently (re)play "The Moment of Silence" (which I think is called "Indigo Prophecy" for some reason in the US, that title makes absolutemly no sense at all EDIT: Was wrong about that stricken statement, never mind). It's an adventure game from the early 2000s, developed by a German team (so I am playing in German). It has it's drawbacks in game design, such as a very linear progression that sometimes doesn't let you do stuff (even if they already make sense) before you haven't done another more obscure task. The result is that desite the fact that most of the puzzles are actually logical and not too difficult, there are several times when you just don't know what you are supposed to do next, so I did have to refresh my memory on the Internet some times. However, the story and atmosphere of the game easily make up for those minor issues. You play a slightly depressed mid 30s advert designer, who is living in Brooklyn, New York in the year 2044 and who just lost his wife and kid in an airplane crash. When he witnesses the brutal and somewhat mysterious arrest of his neighbor by a police SWAT team, he offers the wife and son of that guy to figure out wy he was arrested. The ensuing investigation uncovers dark secrets about how this - on first glance - fairly benign future actually works. I really llike the setting because it is a dystopian future but it's not straight up cyberpunk or sci-fi, It avoids going over the top with most of its depictions and I think for the most part it's a fairly "realistic" take on where western society could be headed (some of the stuff about fake news, freedom of information and how media influences our behavior seems very relevant today, especially given that the game is over 15 years old). It's pretty dialogue heavy as well but most of it is really well written and excellently voiced (in German that is, not sure how it is in English but in German, the protagonist is voiced by the guy who usually dubs Bruce Willis, so he's a pro and you can tell it from his performance in the game).
In terms of graphics, it didn't age super well (as most games from that time) but IMO it's still ok to play. So I am having a lot of fun with it at the moment.

A bit of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Did two Romulus key hunts, looted a templar stronghold and got bailed out of a failing main quest by a friend. That quest will be my stopping point in the game for now. Because at this point the only one I want to kill is Ezio and his refusal to do as he is told.
So I played loads of Minecraft with my heroic friend. Much fun was had falling into lava, getting blown up by creepers and falling from great heights.

Yes, the first Deus Ex highly encourages stealth with it's gameplay, combat can be pretty frustrating. How far along are you? I would encourage you to stay with it as the story (especially later on) does get very interesting and belongs to the best I I know in Video games. I was at the NSF helipad base, pretty early on. It was maybe the 4th mission? For games like this, I'd like inventory to be done one of 2 ways: 1. don't limit what I can carry since you never know when something might come in handy, or 2. make sure anything and everything I might need for a mission can be found at the mission site. I was reading a walkthrough for this mission and it basically boiled down to, if you don't have items a/b/c in your inventory, and don't have x for skills or augs, you are screwed.
So, game uninstalled and saves deleted. Maybe I'll try again later on but for now I just don't have the patience for crap like that.
Sorry to hear Deus Ex wasn't any good, what's next on the list? Well, I loaded up another oldie - Baldur's Gate! - which I have played many times before but never the Beamdog Enhanced Edition. By the time I rolled decent numbers made it through the character creator, it was time for bed.
I currently (re)play "The Moment of Silence" (which I think is called "Indigo Prophecy" I have that as Fahrenheit on GOG. The name changes for that game are kinda weird. Haven't played it yet though.
Speaking of GOG...aaah! Winter Sale! I just put a bunch of stuff in my cart and then took it out again. Full Throttle is available as a freebie, and if you spend $15USD you get Everspace for free too.

Last night Kassandra went to a Symposium, which was a hoot.
She told people she actually had a name: Had no-idea what someone was on about: Had an encounter with a goat: And finally she summed things up very well: Sure beats spending time in the palace in DAI and the clothes are more comfortable too

Oh I hope you get back to Ezio, he is a loveable rogue but yeah I found the gameplay in the Ezio games tiresome. Do you intend to play Odyssey, it'd be a better introduction to AC games?

I just love it when she completely loses it with some Malaka. Did you take Alkibiades up on his offer to join him in the room? I recommend doing all his missions and taking him up on every offer he makes to sleep with him, the scenes and lines afterwards are always cheeky and sometimes damn right hysterical. Espcially the quest where you have to steal an "Olisbos".

I did Youtube the entire quest line with "romance" included.

The Fatebinder (Player Character) and Disfavored took over the Vendrien's Well Citadel in the name of Kyros, killing what was left of the Vendrien Guard. Afterwards the party and the wounded Vendrien Commander were magically transported to a Spire that hung over the Citadel. Up there the party needed to send a message to the Disfavored that the Citadel was taken over. So the Fatebinder wondered if the message would survive the impact. So he asked the Sage Lantry to write a message. Then he put the message on the wounded enemy commander and kicked her off the spire. She fell thousands of feet to her death. An Oathbreaker that was allied with the Vendrien Guard swore allgience to the Fatebinder. He demanded she swear fealty. He received a missive from his master Tunon the Archon of justice. That the Fatebinder's prescence was requested for a debriefing. Now that the Disfavored and Scarlet CHorus are at open war, other rebel factions have risen and need the Fatebinder to destroy them.
Yeah what happened to the Vendrien commander was extreme, but I just wanted to see how extreme one can go and how your party would react. Besides assisting the Disfavored or Scarlet Chorus, one can fight for good and join the rebels betraying Kyros and their armies. Or you can solely serve Kyros or go on your own and establish your own kingdom.

I currently (re)play "The Moment of Silence" (which I think is called "Indigo Prophecy" I have that as Fahrenheit on GOG. The name changes for that game are kinda weird. Haven't played it yet though. Oh, you are absolutely right, I messed something up there. Indigo Prophecy is indeed Fahrenheit (which actually might make sense, never played that game, though I also have it in my GoG library). Apparently "The Moment of Silence" just has the same name in English, which really is the only thing that would make sense anyway. Sorry for the mixup. Still, great game.
In other news, I bought Thronebreaher - The Witcher Tales in the GoG sale. First 2 hours were a lot of fun. Will play it a bit longer and then report back

The change of title for this game depends on the version due to nudity / sexual theme and legal issues. Fahrenheit is the original European version (game developed in Europe) The unedited US version was changed to Indigo Prophecy to avoid confusion with the movie Fahrenheit 9/11. Back then, the boxed version sold here was IP. I then bought Fahrenheit cheaply years later and played it and was gobsmacked by unexpected nudity (events), etc. I wasn't aware there were differences then.
