Witcher 3
Geralt finally found Yennefer or, well, more like she found him. After an unfortunate brawl at the inn, a troop of Nilfgaardian soldiers showed up, acting as her escort. She told him his old buddy Emhyr had an offer. None too plussed about this, he went with her anyway, leaving Vesemir to head to Kaer Morhen on his own.
On the way to Vizima they were attacked by more old buddies, the Wild Hunt. All the soldiers were killed, leaving Geralt and Yenn on their own. One lightning ball later, and they were away.
After a bath, a shave, an interrogation, a change of clothes, and instruction on how to bow properly, Geralt was off to see the wizar....er, emperor. (I smirked when I saw the Ciri painting in his office. It always cracks me up.) Ciri's back and Emhyr wants Geralt to find her. Well, that was easy to agree to, despite who was asking, since he wanted to find her anyway and make sure the Wild Hunt didn't get her.
Talked details with Yen, who then teleported to Skellige, leaving Geralt to go to Velen by horse. First he looted everything that wasn't nailed down from her room, then chatted with the ambassador for a bit.
I tried a gwent match against the noble there in the palace but since all the cards he played were higher ranked than anything I have yet, gave up to try again later. I did manage to get the "Geralt and Friends" achievement for winning a round with only neutral cards (not really sure how I did that but yay me). In Velen I won a couple more cards after playing some of the merchants.
Quest-wise, I discovered a werewolf who had unknowingly killed his wife, then had to kill him when he threatened to kill the sister who had led the woman to her death. Refused to help "John Verdun", agreed to repair a roadside shrine for an old lady and to fix anymore I come across. On the hunt for Ciri, so far only found a village attacked by the Wild Hunt and, another old friend, Kiera Metz. Just met up with her at the cave entrance where she was supposed to meet a mysterious elven mage who was also looking for Ciri, but who never showed up again.
I think I had this problem first time around, in that it seems to take forever to level up in this game. Right now I'm only level 4, maybe a bit over half way to level 5. Later on it doesn't matter so much, but this early I feel really underpowered. With limited skill slots it's useless to put skill points into too many things when I can only use 2 or 3 of them anyway.

Well... I got Nintendo Switch today. For now I'm checking freebies and demos, since I'm still not sure what to get (the game I really want is like a month away... and that's when I originally planned to get Switch ). I was tempted to get Diablo III or even Switch's Diablo III limited edition, but in the end I went for standard red and blue version without game. Whenevre I get a nwe console I often rty t oget a gam ewith it even if I got i tfoir a gam ecoming in the futuer as originall ythat's what I did wit hthe XB1 as I got tha tori8ginally with the Halo MCC in mind bu tI got Fifa 14 I htin ki twas and one of the Forza's Forza 5 I think to keep me busy in the meantime with it. I rarely get new console (in fact the only other one I have is my Nintendo 2DS), so there's no specific way I handle getting new one But yea, it'd be a pity for it to lay around, waiting for new game, so I'm aimlessly scrolling thru the store, seeing if something catches my eye. At the same time I'm not that desperate for new game (as I said before, I don't play that much lately), so I'd be ok with using it only to watch YouTube (my phone might get a break!).

We need to get control of the droneswarm to get the people off the island and the soldiers in. For that we need some tech people. First stop is Cristina Cromwell, AI expert..
As a side project Nomad is investigating what happened to an old kamikaze. A mission that takes her all over the islands. I have lost count of how many stages it is to this side quest by now.
Keep the powder dry! Christina was a trooper hacking away at that computer with bullets flying everywhere, people started to scream, big men lying on the ground with holes in their bodies where their life had been.
But it was all in the name of liberty! We got to be free! Jailbreak!
Oh and I need your glasses Christina.

Not exactly sure what that in is the distance but thought it looked cool I don't remember that view at all, where did you take it from? As to what it is, the view farthest out looks like the tree where the spirit is trapped but it's obviously not. The island thing closer by looks cool but no idea what it is but it does look a bit like thatcliff with an arch that you can sail through in Skellige.

Played a bunch of My Time in Portia. Which was grand fun. Then decided to keep going in DMC4, which was a big mistake. Which should have been clear when I had problems with the first boss of the boss rush. Because he's not that hard. So a butt load of whining in spoilers. No pictures, no fun, just want to get it out. Decide to do a bit of grinding to get some more red orbs and healing items. Try to beat the time on mission 8, which goes fine, except I just can't get through the boss fight. Get close a couple of times but no dice so give up. Also waste all my healing items, which is annoying, but ok. Try out mission 1 on Legendary Demon Hunter thingie for laughs. Get through it fine but mission 2 beats that notion out of me half way through. Which is fine. But got a bunch of items so go back to mission 19. Get through first boss. The next boss is his usual sweet self so no complaints there. You were lovely mister Anglerfrogman. Then I get stuck. Not at a boss. But at that stupid dice adventure between them. And I looked up some buster trick but I just can't pull it off since the dice moves too fast. And one of the dice puts you in a battle with three lobster men. And I just can't. Well I can eventually but after rolling them 5 times I'm just done. Get through the dice adventure and again have a problem with a fairly easy boss. Granted it's just a momentary lack of coordination. But I'm struggling with her and then start thinking, oh lawd. I'm going to have to fight Credo (the boss on mission 8). And I don't think I can, since there is a dice adventure between him and this boss and if I roll the lobster men again I'm going to throw something at someone. So lose focus on the fight and die a glorious death, then quit the game. SO this was just one big misery trip. But stepping back, I did rack up 30.000 orbs, so I can splurge on some healing items, which is nice. And did look up the next boss fight for laughs and it's Mothman! Not Credo I can do Mothman. I should still be sober before retrying. BUT I CAN DO DIS! Did load up the game again for laughs, but loaded up Lady/Trish campaign instead. And as far as I can understand it's the same deal as Vergil in DMC3 except they got epilogue cutscenes as well. So not sure if I'll try a whole run with them or just look it up on youtube. Did play through mission 1-8 with Lady, so like, might get close on their run. But they've got guns. Lots of guns. I think Vergil only has his sword. So will see about that. But had quite a lot of fun with her. The shotgun is my favorite weapon so far, but the bazooka is nice in a pinch. Also like that there is a little health meter on the lock on function. Which probably has always been there, but it's much more clearer here. And figured out how the buster dice thingie works. Kinda. So I'll be a wee bit wiser when I try to tackle mission 19 again. Also got so many red orbs. Which is fantastic. And another spoiler. This one just has a pic of Lady in her two outfits. And her pizza. Because om nom.

The island thing closer by looks cool but no idea what it is but it does look a bit like thatcliff with an arch that you can sail through in Skellige. It's in Velen, somewhere. Yeah, the tree in the far back view looks creepy but I was talking about the island thing. I'm sure I'll get there eventually and probably won't recognize where I'm at when I do.
The more Geralt hears about the bog and the witches there, the more he is trying to avoid it. So, he went spelunking with Kiera, found some clues and a magic lantern, but no Ciri. Since that was a dead end, he decided to go see the baron after all. Turned out to be a good choice since the baron had not just seen Ciri, but given her shelter while she healed up from killing a werewolf nearby. However, before he would say more, he bargained with Geralt to help him find his lost daughter and wife. Geralt had no choice but to agree. (Could not yet beat the baron at gwent, but won some other cards.)
So, off he went to see the pellar who had created a talisman for the baron's wife Anna. Before he would help, Geralt first had to find his goat. Heeerre, Princess. The first time I played this game I was worried the blood the pellar needed for his augury would come from the goat but thankfully Princess was spared. I think all he got from her was milk. Anyway, after learning more interesting info about the baron and his family, Geralt decided to head back to his fort to have another chat. On the way, he noticed the place was now on fire.
Came across this at some point.
Anyone else notice the woman in the shack moves around?
Main side quests today were 2 contracts: Jenny o'the Woods (nightwraith) and the Shrieker (cockatrice). Rather than just take the minimum offered, I thought to bump up the amount a little bit each time. So far I haven't pissed anyone off. I've got the Griffin Armor quest now but checking it on the map it's pretty far from where I'm currently at; Cat gear is too high a level still. I made it up to 7 though, so slowly making progress.

In the end I bought Pokemon, Let's go Eevee. I know a lot of people think it's not as good as main games, but the same was said about Pokemon Rangers series and I loved it. So I decided to give it a try, if only so I can transfer Pokemon from it to upcoming Pokemon Sword/Shield.
I'm also eyeing a few bigger titles (like Breath of the Wild, new Fire Emblem or Astral Chain), but since I'd need more play time for them, I decided to put them on hold.

Tides Of Numenera has grown on me a lot. And I don't get a headache within 30min from all the text overload anymore. Yay! The Endless Horror sidequest was one of the most captivating gaming moments in years. And it was really just still images and sound effects... I found it super creepy, indeed horrifying and profoundly sad. The Children Of The Endless Gate are really cool in the most fucked up way imaginable. This game is wonderfully philosophical with a lot of very true insights into the human existence. Most of them uncomfortable, lol. Makes me realize how very simplistic and cartoony Bioware stories are. I know this game is considered quite inferior to Planescape Torment (that I never played!) and not a masterpiece by a long shot, but for somebody who never played any nerdy old school RPG on PC, this feels like graduating from elementary school right to reading somebody's philosophy post-grad thesis, lol. This game really feels more like reading a cool fantasy novel with pictures than playing a videogame. In over 20 hours I have bothered with combat only 3 times. And twice it was by accident. The game goes out of its way to offer non combat solutions. Which is good because combat is clunky and boring. So maybe you're not meant to fight anyway! *g* A lot of the themes are really dark. Not the bleak yet super sentimental Witcher sort, more the horrors of eternal damnation in a very real sense kind. Souls trapped in unending agony. A lot of existential dread. A lot of sci-fi comes into play. Other dimensions, alternate realities. The different states of existence a being could have if the mind was an entity of its own. This game isn't about such trite stuff as an AI Pinocchio story. This is opening the gates of hell, discovering that the king on the throne is a victim trapped in his own realm, as you're looking for the remains of a baby that was cut up and sacrificed to him, and saving the girl by taking her traumatized mind into your own where it can rest in peace now! Your mind gets kind of crowded with all the lost souls you gather, LOL!
I really dig all the weird ass body sharing, mind sharing craziness of the game. The game has a lot of fun playing around with all of that. One of the companions is a blob who hid inside the mind of my character. Now that it has been released and given a disposition of my choosing, it communicates with the castoff via sign language! Adorable! It's both a silly and horrifying game.

So finished DMC4 today. Or well, the main campaign. Surprisingly enough, Mothman gave me the biggest headache of the lot in the boss run. So much for I CAN DO DIS: But did learn that you can grab the flaming doggies and use them as bazookas. NICE. Then Anglerfrog gave me troubles and I'm not sure why, since usually he's the easiest of the lot. But made it through. Belial was third worst, but not too bad. And the plant lady was the sweetest. Also learned you can use the fist on her little egg maker thingy which I'd been using to get some cheap shots in. So that was educational. And ripe for all sorts of nasty word play. Dice adventures went MUCH MUCH MUCH better this time, since I learned how to use it with Lady. No Lobstermen, only rain of red orbs and moving on with the stage. Final boss went down eventually. It was a very, very ungraceful fight. And I was equally happy I did look up tips on how to make things go smoother since the final form would have stumped me good. I felt very attacked and called out at the end of the final cutscene, since being a romantic sap I was waiting to screenshot the kiss and then Nero pulled a gun on me Granted he was shooting them, but it hit me none the less. Then misunderstood the ensuing fight since the lady has been perfectly fine just standing there vapidly for now, so didn't know I was supposed to protect her...Oops. No credit combat for me. Tried out Vergil's campaign and as expected it was not for me. Even if I did get my first S rank on his first mission. I just don't like playing him. I do like playing Lady though, so might move on with her campaign. But probably not. All in all I quite liked this game. It looked really pretty and I found the combat more smoother than the other series. Although 3 wins in the satisfaction for winning bosses. Also started up DmC:Devil May Cry. The develling. Got massive Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines feelings from the opening. Was very much excpecting moaning and someone wanting to show me something. Granted did get a strip tease and naked Dante, so they did show me something. Just not vampire teeth. There are so many button combinations to remember. Hold that bumper and that bumper and press that then switch bumpers, ect. So figure starting each session is going to be a wee bit of a headache. But so far it's fun. Also having problems finding the extra items, like lost souls and such. The drawback of a free camera I guess. But my speed through the missions is apparently top notch so I've got that going for me. Also really dig the painting like style of the flashback. But in general the game could use a bit more vibrancy in my opinion. But they got some top notch red. So far I think he's alright. He has his moments but the edginess is a bit much for me. Made it through mission 5 so 1/4 through the main campaign. Which is nice. Sounds like the Vergil campaign for this one might be it's own thing, so might end up giving him a go this time around. Then some My Time at Portia, because why not. Ended up visiting the hazardious ruins and beating the brains of rats with a rusty iron pipe. Which was not what I was expecting to happen but at the same time I don't mind it either. Look at that smug little big rat.

So Madden. So I started another Franchise after beating the Jets. Right now I am 2 games into the season and well, its off to an interesting start. On the bottom line my offense has gone off for 110 combined points in the two games while giving up...fifty? That's insane. Patriots-Chiefs 51-31, Patriots-Saits 59-20. Michel had a fairly effective game the first time with 2 rushing TDs and a recieving TD. Brady had I think...I wanna say 3 TDs with an interception but otherwise moved the ball well. Second game, well Michel got his Fourth TD of the year and his third rushing TD...but he dislocated his hip, then Cannon broke his upper arm. This left me a little shorthanded at Halfback especially with a good rushing running back. Which was just fine because Brady went off, over 90% completion percentage, 6 Passing TDs, a perfect Passer ating...hell he even had 11 yards rushing. It got so bad I did let my backup get some playing time in who did OK. Pleased to see I actually got Gronk involved in the passing game, eight catches, 170 yards and a TD. Right now White is leading the team with 13 catches and a TD reception and Edelman and Gronk have 10 a piece...they both should also have a TD reception. But Michel's hips got him out for 7 weeks...*sigh*. At least.

In Witcher 3, did this yesterday: Then on the way to Oxenfurt to find Tamara, got distracted by a message board and am now heading to some lady's decrepit manor to clear it of monsters. Also did one fist fight and a couple more gwent games. Have to remember to replay the baron before heading to the swamp to find Anna.

Ended up completing the main campaign for DMC Devil May Cry. All in all I quite liked it (obviously). Did miss the vibrancy of the 4th game, but there were a lot of neat things going for it. So today's session in spoilers. With spoilers naturally. Found a sexy succubus.
And killed her. The fight was so, so, but did enjoy the mobility and that little after battle tussle was nice. Then moved on the second objective, to kill the news! Visited a demon prison on the way and had a grand old time with the harpies. Then it was time to murder Bob Barbas, for just doing God's work! Adios old boy, the news wont be the same without you. Really liked his fight. It was less slashy slash and more mild thinking. Also the little side segments where he slanders you on the news while you bust up some mooks was pretty fun as well. Decided to move a bit further in the plot, where I met two of my biggest nemesis. The Butcher and The Dreamrunner. Butcher was more annoying since he had a small hitspot which he protected with his sawwy hands. So just a bunch of me going in, slapping him, getting smacked away since I can't dodge, rinse and repeat. The Dreamrunner on the other hand whopped my butt and barely clawed past him using two vital stars, a golden orb and many tears. It's not slander if it's true Was going to call it quits for the day there, but then decided just a little bit more. Which I'm glad I did since the rest was (mostly) a blast. More TV stuff with The Devil's Got Talent. Basically a game show thing, which had the vibrancy I so desired. It had six little rounds with all sorts of combat. Like activate an aura to not get damaged by the floor when you fight, or kill the blokes within a time limit. Very fun. But was glad that there was a mission change before the final boss. Heh. Which was this mega babe. And her mega baby. If all fetuses were this protective of their mommas. Also felt very called out that the song playing during the fight was just "What the hell is wrong with you?!". Well we all have our likes and dislikes... Then some more plot stuff before having to navigate the horror that is the office building. But had looked up a tip to fighting the Dreamrunners and found a solid way to painlessly whoop their asses like they did mine. Just spammed upgraded Uppercut on them. They never had a chance! Then had to go through a furnace of souls which can just keep burning in hell where it belongs. Granted it wasn't too bad but I'm impatient so it was annoying. Then the final boss! And yay brotherly team work. Boss wasn't too bad, but couldn't figure out how to dodge his attacks so took quite some damage in the fight. But did like the gist of it. And then the expected brotherly fallout. And finally a Vergil fight which I did well at. Or well. Wellish. Found him the easiest in DMC1, but by that time he was probably cannoically sick of me. Hehe. Also was playing on easy sooooo. BUT. Fight was fun. And also made the other fights in the games before more poignant to me. So that was nice. So yeah, all in all really enjoyed it. Definitely going to be giving Vergil's DLC a swirl.

Disco Elysium - honestly, there is so much reading here, that it threw me back to the late 1990s and Planescape Torment days. But it's a fun game. Finished it in about 20ish hours. Almost immediately started a new PT with completely different stats.
The hilarious part of the game is when you have several skills at high range (7+ points) and they all start talking to each other and behaving like a Parliament hearing in your mind. Small example that I sort of keep spoiler free:
DRAMA: Guys, I got too many alerts during this interrogation. Something doesn't add up.
LOGIC: It was all well rounded and explained, I give it a pass. Nerves most likely.
RHETORIC: Don't be a drama queen, DRAMA, I did all the hard work and it's fine.
EMPATHY: Yeah, attention whore, stop trying to pick on this poor NPC. Have some morale and let it be.
DRAMA: But...
SEVERAL SKILLS: Shut up.
DRAMA: But, guys...
SEVERAL SKILLS: Don't listen to this rubbish, chief.
*Passes an Impossible DRAMA check*
DRAMA: HAH, take that, bitches! WAKE UP CALL! Push the NPC. Push it! Make it spill the beans. We got lied to AND I WAS RIGHT!!!
SEVERAL SKILLS: Omg, dafuq, how did we miss it? Burn that NPC, to the stake with it! Prison! Torture!
EMPATHY: Lord, how could this happen. Such a sweet NPC tried to trick me...
DRAMA: You are welcome for the wake up.

Have you done all side quests, read everything?? Well, I am a notorious fast reader (colleagues hate me when I switch pages on my own pace when they also read a document on my monitor). No clue if it matters.
I did almost all quests I had, except some that asked me to drink/smoke or had too high skill check for me to bother (draw a painting, learn a certain thought). My quest log was pretty empty at the end and I kept going around talking multiple times to NPCs for those sweet 5 extra EXP that my latest skill point manages to open in already used dialogue.
Boy, if you took 12 hours and still run Day 2, you will have a loooooong time ahead after you open the map at Day 3

OK, I did play about 1.5h on my own to catch up. But then let's say 10h for almost end of day 2 for him. So I have no idea how the hell you managed that.

Witcher 3
Found Letho at the old lady's manor, so decided to help him out of a jam. Raced all over the place with him, killed some goons, and then....uh, whoops, sorry about ruining your plan there, big guy. Maybe let me in on it next time. Anyway, convinced him to head to Kaer Morhen. He sounded the same, but something about his face seemed slightly off from W2.
Returned to the manor to disable the rest of his traps and find the old lady's chest, then went back to tell her everything was a-ok. Next contract was for a grave hag - nasty bit, that one.
Found the first 4 Griffin Armor schematics.
Now heading back to the few markers that popped on the map while helping Letho, and then will finally head to Oxenfurt.

The game does get faster to the end after Day 3 and you probably receive 70% of all quests in the first 2 days. You might be halfway done. Also it might depend on your build. Sometimes you can safe a lot of running if you resolve a tough skill check.

Playing XCOM 2, doing a "Capture VIP" mission.
I clear out the aliens (get off my lawn) and knock out the VIP to bring him back to the Avenger.
Advent forces show up to try to stop me, and the building I'm currently in isn't all that damaged; so despite Advent's attempts at rearranging the architecture, I put everyone on overwatch to get some extra XP.
They land, and the Advent Officer says "Butts!" or whatever language they use to indicate my troops are in the area... And proceed to get obliterated by overwatch shots.
"Huh, how about that?" "It's dead, it HAS to be dead!"

Vergil's Downfall was short and sweet. Which is good since I still don't like playing him. But atleast he had unique missions this time around. Confusing mission, but different none the less.
Then moved on to Devil May Cry 5. Need some time for the faces to grow on me because currently I'm not a big fan. Prefer the stylished anime faces more. The characters themselves are soso. Nico annoyed me at first but is slowly growing on me as expected. Driving the car through roofs is an endearing move in my book. Nero is rocking back and forth, but his cockiness is amusing. V has a crow and a panther, and the crow talks sass so he's good in my book. Also get good stylish ratings from just randomly smashing buttons, so that's nice. Made it too mission 5, so making decent progress.
Then played a bit of Monster Hunter World with a friend and am quite annoyed that you can't just co-op quests from the get go. TBH not much of a fan of it so far, but haven't gotten really far in it either. Character creator was pretty neat though and a private cat is always good.
