I bought Fire Emblem Three Houses. Yes, I discovered you can feed cats and dogs. Yes, I've spent unreasonable amount of time doing so. I regret nothing. Which class did you choose to teach? Blue Lions.

Took the gang to Clemens Point and was ready to go fishing with Dutch and Hosea, but was dragged into Sadie's "I'm one of the guys too" quest first. She and Arthur have some good banter but her attitude is still starting to grate. It's a Rockstar game, so there's no real point whining about anachronisms, but I do think that she's shallowly written. Instead of having her sit and brood at camp for the entire second chapter and then instantly turn into an ice cold desperado in the third they could have have given us more time with her early on to let us know something about what kind of person she'd been before her life was destroyed and how exactly she was dealing with it internally through dialogue so her sudden transformation had more... substance. It's not unheard of for traumatized women to start shunning their femininity, and someone trying to adopt masculine behavior while around a bunch of robbers might well end up acting like a violent asshole simply by attempting to copy what they see until someone calls them out. That could have been an interesting and tragic character arc, and given Arthur a more defined role in her development as the eternal voice of moderation. But no, instead she just turns out to have been in an equal marriage and is tough as nails - and a good fighter - because reasons and do you have a problem with that? It's also a bit weird that Arthur appears to respect her more for being reckless and bloodthirsty when he rightly despises that exact same kind of behavior in Micah, and anyone else for that matter. Anyway, took mommy and daddy fishing afterwards as planned, aside from another hefty detour running after criminals for the local law and springing Trelawny. Good times. Also noticed that Star Wars: Battlefront II was on sale on the PSN, so I snatched it up pretty much entirely for the starfighter dogfights. It's a beautiful game as soon as you turn the boring and ugly HUD off so it more resembles the movie space battles, and getting the controls down is fun and feels rewarding. And since reading certain Orson Scott Card sci-fi novels as a kid I've adored combat simulations in weightless environments, taking advantage of all three dimensions, getting to twist and turn and play around with perspective without giving a damn about the line of the horizon. So after messing with the settings and turning off the one that automatically corrects your orientation I had a blast. Realistically, bowling straight through the debris of a TIE-figther or Imperial bomber you just blew to pieces would be suicide. But Oscar Isaac makes it look soooo sweet, and it really is immensely satisfying. It doesn't quite have the original PS2 games' charm, and I don't know how long I'll be playing it, but for now I'm having fun and looking forward to starting the single-player campaign. "The enemy's hanger bay doors are down!"

So after a week of being unable to play I finished DA2 yesterday, completing tasks for Orsino, Meredith, Batrands haunted house, Merrill's demon summoning and cleaning up a couple of side missions including killing Jevin. I never got the quest to help the guard on the coast against Fell Odrin etc. Anyone know why that would be? Anyway supported the mages, I still find the whole Orsino thing implausible, convinced Fenris to fight with Hawke and Bethany was happy and killed Anders. Wish I could kill Sebastian just to shut him up!!!!! Not sure whether I'll play the DLC's at this stage, I intend playing some The Division 2 with my son who decided to buy it. I stopped at L7 previously as I just wasn't in the right mindset to play it and I was finding it hard to do the main missions solo. Will see how that plays out though, might be short lived. Pic's Merrill states the obvious Not sure what this effect was but it looked cool Meeting the King I like to think they are rose petals (silly keeper) Skeleton Porcupine and weird bald headed elf As Sandal would say "Boom" The Murder Knife, sorry Anders Just EWWWWW Mad Meredith on fire

Decided to revive my Necromancer (Alma Hellfire) in GW2 revive 'cause she's a necromancer... get it? ...I'll ah...see myself out
she's currently at level 20, and slowly making her way from area to area to get the map uncovered my Ranger is currently at level 78...but I don't really feel like playing her atm. still going to keep her because I spend to much time on her already
I should probably really get a character to level 80 for mounts...but eh...who cares only frustrating part is that a certain type of mount can be useful for jumping puzzles tried one of the more difficult jumping puzzles again today, aptly named Troll's Revenge, but I keep missing a jump or miss a step and have to start all over...really frustrating got halfway last time before making a wrong turn that I couldn't backtrack to correct...and today I kept falling down but stubborn me will likely try again tomorrow
on the plus side, my Necromancer got another part of a map for an achievement piece, so yay just need one more for the complete map

dazk Looking at the Wiki he's supposed to make his appearance in Act 2. Unless you missed him there as well, then the explanation is that he reads the forums and noped out of a grisly death --- As for what done did today. Tried out the Earthlock demo and it's kinda charming and "No one died" at the end of the battle speaks to my soul in the deepest of manners, but everyone did die during the final fight of the session so sorta debating whether to try again and give it a chance or just keep sulking. Also tried to solve some extra puzzles in Layton but am stupider than usual today so it was just blankly staring and intense frustration. So that was fun.

Finally settled for a DAO character: male city elf, two-handed warrior. I finished the intro, left a lots of bodies around. I'm now at Ostagar ready to become a Grey Warden, after some errands.
After the BG3 gameplay presentation I also wanted to replay Divinity Original Sin 2 so I installed it last night. I went with Lohse as a Conjurer today and I'm making my way to Fort Joy. First time playing the Definitive Edition with all the free DLCs, which means it's the first time I meet Sir Lora...I like the little dude already.

If I can ever finish my Death March run in Witcher 3, this one is on my short list to play next-ish. Also there are Thronebreaker (started it but need to finish), Rebel Galaxy, and Greedfall.

So BF 2...
God damn I don't know why I keep forgetting the HOUR I spent playing the new OT content that released.
So lets see a new release pack and I am pretty happy with what I have gotten so far and what I have played. I have probably played about...40 percent of the new content overall I would think. Did...well did nothing but the co op stuff so far and didn't get to any of the new changes to HvV.
-Surprised how good Jabba's Palace worked out for Co Op. The Rebel Alliance is on the attack and it was a really interesting surprise that the last stage of it is OUTSIDE when the door opens up. I don't think it does that on any other mode and nor do I think that kind of map change happens on many other maps as you advanced.
-Hoth. Didn't get too far since we held them the Empire off on like the second wave but its still good. Probably something I never noticed since I don't think I've been on Hoth too often but those SDs are awfully LOW in the sky. They didn't get that close in the movie.
-Endor The most bog standard of them and the least changed from what I have noiticed but its still a great map.
-Yavin. Its going to be the OT Takodana but I think it shows a lot of promise and again the last area opens up that you have to defend.
Death Star 2- nothing too different to report about it.
As for the new characters...
I love the Ewok. Might be my second favorite of the Reinforcements now. The manual bow aiming is a bit of a sticky situation and the game isn't built for it but the auto aiming can be a surprise amount of fun and the other abilities does have its moments.
Chewbacca: Largely the same but the new aiming system is well appreciated and still a pretty fun character.
Leia and the ISB agent:...still sucks 'lets put alt fire on a button that is aiming in 99% of other games'.
And well it's a triple XP weekend so I am looking forward to leveling everybody up.

I don't think I've ever gotten a letter or heard anyone mention them beforehand. They are just there when you show up to that part of the coast. Aveline doesn't need to be in the party.

I went there repeatedly throughout the game expecting them to be there when doing other quests but they were never there. I am just wondering if I maybe did aother quest too early or something so it didn't trigger, I have never not had it trigger before.

dazk Can't remember any conflicting quest and loading up my save it should have been available from the start of Act 2. Only thing I could figure if you didn't go to the correct area? The area where you pick up the Viscount son in Act 1. Otherwise I'm stumped. Haven't got a save near the end of the act where the quest hasn't been done, so can't test if it ever "runs out" so to speak.

As far as I know the quest can bug if you don't complete it the first time you enter Wounded Coast. Maybe that's the case?

Nice I may start a new DA run myself if I feel I need a change of pace when I get into playing a bit of Fifa and NFS and all that which is my plan once I finish my ME trilogy run. Shouldn't take too much longer as I'm getting towards the end of ME3 now. Looking forward to it as I picked up NFS payback yesterday on Origin while it was on sale. I don't think I'll enjoy it as much as Heat bu tthe story looks kind of interesting in it's own way so I'm looking forward to playing that. Because from what I've seen Paybacks story looks a bit more like an A team episode. Must admit I'm looking forward to playing the nw eNFS Heat DLC when that comes out next week though I'll be saving playing it until I do my next run of the game. As I plan to start again when I nex tboot it up as I plasn on using a diffreent avatar and playing through the story again only this time I'll be using different cars an dwill probabl yfocus moer on levelling my rep up than earning tons o fcash. I'll still need to earn some money for new cars and upgrades fo rthem but I probably won't be buying as many.

Just like I remembered, Lohse works better has a companion than the PC for me. I think I'm going to restart DOS2 with another character, I might also change the class, as summoning is a bit too indirect for me (sorta). I might even try it with Lone Wolf (i.e. solo) this time. hmm, maybe Lohse works better without a party. I just really want to see all her interactions with her little friend you don't get to see when she's a companion.
I played a bit more of Ostagar in DAO too. Not much. I'm annoyed there are chests Davet can't open because his skill is too low. I almost feel like restarting with a rogue now. I'm a bit OCD with locked chests, at least in DOS2 you can put them in your inventory until you have the skill level to open them...yes, I've done that.

azarhal I know how you feel about chests, it was painful to pass all of them by with my current warrior already got her past Ostagar and Lothering though, so don't really feel like re-rolling her either I've gotten a bit further on my Necromancer in GW2, but for some odd reason she keep dying either they've nerfed this class over the years, or I'm just bad at playing it...I don't recall it being such a pain back when I first started out playing this game which is weird because they (along with Warrior) have the highest health pool in the game...should make survivability easier methinks I suppose I could try out an Elementalist, but I'm told they're very squishy (having the lowest health pool along with Thief and Guardian) and hard to master hm, I really need to figure out a good class for me to play with
--
Also, I've tried out Divinity 2 a few times now, but can't really make heads or tails of it, do you have any recommendations on a class to play? (I'd prefer a custom character since that's what I tend to do when possible)

That's great.
Well, nothing beats finally managing to open a high-level lock and then noticing that the chest had three gold coins and a pair of common leather boots. Either that or a chest that contained less lockpicks than the pile of broken ones I created to open that thing in the first place.
As for DAO, I'm pretty obstinate about not going Rogue just for locks & traps, regardless of how much the game wants me to. I do employ the console to switch the early warrior archer characters like Tamlen&Fenarel, Mama Cousland and sometimes Mr. Tower guard into rogues and raise the cunning of them (and Daveth) though.

I know how you feel Dovakiin: *breaks dozens of lockpicks on a Master lock* ...*inside chest is just a few Steptims and some louzy pair of pants* .....FUUUU!!!! also, the only reason to join the Thievesguild is because they have an endless supply of lockpicks for sale that or just install a mod that allows you to craft your own for a few iron ingots
this time in DAO I just went "eh *shrug* " and passed by all of the locked chests and doors, generally I have a lockbash mod installed but didn't feel like using it this time around luckily we now have Leliana in the team

azarhal I know how you feel about chests, it was painful to pass all of them by with my current warrior already got her past Ostagar and Lothering though, so don't really feel like re-rolling her either
There is a mod for DAO that allows you to bash open chests but you will damage some of the items in the process as the tradeoff. The bash mod for DA2 doesn't do that but I always have to re-train myself on how to use it.

yeah I know, but that mod only works in Origins and Awakening there's also an open lock spell for mages, but since my current Warden isn't a mage that's pretty redundant atm.
'sides, I don't mind having to lug Leli everywhere with me she and Alistair are my staple companions, the third slot is generally filled by either Wynne or Zevran depending on my needs or mood plus I have the extra dog slot mod, so dog is always there as well

Also, I've tried out Divinity 2 a few times now, but can't really make heads or tails of it, do you have any recommendations on a class to play? (I'd prefer a custom character since that's what I tend to do when possible)
Technically the game is classless, the starting classes are there so people have a starting set of abilities, but you can edit them however you like (preset section of the character creator). You just need to know what kind of character you want to be, mage, warrior, rogue...something mixed up...or weird (polymorph). In general, when using a party I tend to go with the standard: cleric (a class with hydrophist), knight/fighter, rogue and a mage type. The companions have default setup (but you can change them). Red Prince: fighter Beast: Battlemage Lohse: Enchanter Sebille: Rogue Ifan: Wayfafer Fane: Wizard Combat wise you just need to remember your surfaces and that single target damage is sometime better than AOEs, as taking down one target per turn is better long term. Wait, there are games that just allow one to grab the chests and run off? That's great. The only games where I've seen it possible is the Divinity games. Larian is crazier than Bethesda when it comes to "nothing is nailed down", you just need enough strength to pick them up and walk way (you can even steal paintings).

I believe my last attempt was a Cleric, might try again at a later date does it matter what race you pick or is it mostly just flavor in terms of dialogue and such?
there's also an open lock spell for mages, In DAO? Never seen it. What's it called? one sec, looking it up ^^ Open Lock Spells, just as it says on the tin I used it during my now abandoned Amell playthrough, they work pretty well you do need to buy them with talent points though, so I suggest stocking up on some tomes (or use cheats to add some tomes like I did )
