So tonight I did some more of this, practicing using manual gears instead of automatic. It's a lot faster, but a lot harder.
I also carried on writing some more for my fanfiction (link), whilst also watching this: Wat. WAT. WAT. That's better.

Yeah it is a lo tharder using manua lgears in racing bu tthen not using an yassoits in general is faster but harder t opull off. I generally use assists when playin gracing games though mainl ybecause of my disability. In the F1 games fo rexampl ekeeping int ouch with the pits via the radio and using the DRS in th eappropriate places makes the games difficult enough for me to play especially as I have to drive as well.

I finished LS4. Still so totally awewsome.
The I started and finished GW2 Ice Brood Saga prologue.
Metal Legion! Metal Legion! Metal Legion!
Who knew a metal music show could make for such an awesome gameplay event. Fixing amps, replacing dancers, jumping in the pit, making sure crazy fans doesn't annoy the band too much, launching some fireworks...killing rampaging flaming Effigies.
Now I want to play a kitty again, I mean a Charr.

Back to Witcher 3 for a bit yesterday.
Crossed off one of the HoS achievements from my list when I bought everything at Borsodi's auction. I actually had to reload that part because I got in a bidding war with Vimme Vivaldi and accidentally hit 2 for "don't bid" instead of 1 for "bid again." I played it safe on the reload and didn't tell him what the snobby art critic told me so he didn't try to buy the painting out from under me. Geralt was impressed someone was able to sneak back into that arachas cave and salvage the Professor's spectacles (assuming they are authentic, that is) in one piece. The guy was squished pretty good by the queen, if I recall. I remember being disappointed I didn't get to kill him myself, but that was quickly replaced with "how the hell do I get out of here without caving the place in on my head?!" panic.
I must say, I like that Geralt isn't stupid. Impulsive, cranky, and so-put-upon, but not stupid. When Shani asked him who O'Dimm was, he doesn't follow Shepard's lame example and say "I don't know...[disappointed looks from the Councillors]...but I'm gonna find out!" No, he says not a mage, but maybe a demon or a djinn and, whatever he is, he's certainly powerful. This is a professional evaluation, not an emotional tantrum.
So now my choices of what next are recruit for the heist or meet Shani at the von Everec crypt. I think I might do the heist first so that going into the second request Geralt might be in a little better mood having had a bit of success already. I don't remember which two I recruited last time but since the job turns into a shitshow I think I'll go for the prisoner over the new family man and gnome over the acrobat.

So far they have been reasonably capable and the option to change their tactics is very convenient. And whom do you prefer as a companion? Not regrets, but I have not yet found any kukris+ and new feats happen not as often as I'd like. Ah, maybe too early indeed. But the main thing "no regrets". Think it is one of the main things in games. I am sorry for this. I meant what difficulty do you use? "NM mode" - "Nightmare mode" - just the most difficult mode (now do not remember, maybe it is called" insanity" in NWN). No preference for companions yet.
I'm playing on Normal. Not sure, if making the first blind PT on the highest difficulty would be a good idea. The party reached the Docks. The locals were rather unfriendly, but not threatening. The only thing of note was that we were able to clear fire bugs from a merchant house.

Visual Novels often have a recommended play order. "Steam Prison" has a prologue, and then it makes a V into two main routes (2 love interests per route). And then from those two routes, another V can happen as you pick one of the two. I ended up, at 7 hours, getting my happy ending with Ulrik. I thought their chemistry was very real, because they were both awkward in love, yet up front with each other and honest about their thoughts in the moment. The reason I opted for Ulrik over Eltcreed is that he randomly shoves his hands up your shirt. After you jump away, he then insists on staying in the room while you change. UGH. But on Ulrik's route, he backs off and encourages you two love birds along, as he sees Ulrik kinda like a brother/son and wants him happy.
So, apparently the recommended play order actually has Eltcreed as first and Ulrik as Third. I really had to talk myself into it, but here I am, playing his route. And pretty much hating it all along the way. He understands that Cyrus takes her Employee Job very seriously, so if he orders her to go on a date with him, she caves. He pushes too far, and frequently. He tells you to wear a skirt, you say you don't like them, he doesn't care. He buys you a dress, you don't like dresses, he doesn't care. I just *bleh* went through a kissing scene where she actually tries to pull away and he doesn't let her. All the while, poor Ulrik who initially had a crush on Cyrus, is telling Eltcreed he's going to fast. Sweet boy, trying to protect me. He then had conversation about how he didn't truly want to sleep with her, because that would "sully her and make her just another woman." Which is just an awful way of thinking since women are not sullied by sex in the slightest and he is hyper aware of her lack of sexual experience to the point of claiming all this crap is "teaching her about love." And all the while she is trash talking herself about how she's too unrefined and manly and calloused for him...I think I've been playing this entire route with varying grades of frown on my face. And oh ya! turns out he's working with the guy I super hate and want to murder!
*grumbles* There better be some legitimate plot on this route. ugh ugh ugh.

Steam Prison My ex police partner from the floating island in the sky, the Heights, came to the Depths. He and another saw Cyrus, and when they were on there way back, the other man said he would report Cyrus for being outside the penal colony. The NPC, I thought, looked like the NPC that had tried to rape Cyrus in the prologue. That, combined with him saying he was going to tell my nemesis my whereabouts, I hoped with all my little gamer heart that Fin, my beloved friend, would overcome his goodness and strike the man down. He did. I felt so relieved. It's kinda crazy how into a game I can get. I was happy Fin wanted to protect Cyrus that much. I was sad he wasn't a possible Love Interest for the game. But then it turned out, he was capable of much more death than I'd realized. The Depths had broken him and his goodness. What if I'd stayed in the Sanctuary? would I have gotten to him before the madness set in, and kept my friend mostly in one piece?*sighs* This is a worse tragedy to me than the NPC parents being murdered. I'm truly sad for my poor beloved friend, and suspect, probably rightly...that he will not be living at the end of this route. ...Ulrik is still adorbs on this route. I miss him calling me an idiot, and Cyrus calling him a rude boy with no manners. Additionally, maybe because Eltcreed pushed it so much, Cyrus does seem to be more devotedly romantic on this route. Which grinds my gears a bit, since I don't truly like the man as a romantic interest. I certainly don't hate him, he's just not kissing material. Even if the recorded kiss sounds they put in the game are pretty hot. .... ah, i finally meet the love interest I didn't see on my first route. --he calls Ulrik rude, and I smile. I hope he's as amusing on his route, when I get to it. ..... So, in the end, Fin managed to reconcile something long enough to be the kind man I remembered him to be. And he died as a result. I cried as Cyrus spoke several sentences of denial about the event as she tried to get him up. I refuse to believe that she could never have loved him; she was more upset about him than her own parents.... The benefit of this route was that it explored the politics between countries of the Depths and the Heights somewhat. I am amused and pleased that it took Cyrus many months to say she loved Eltcreed and far far less for Ulrik. Personally, I think this was mostly a lust mixed with admiration relationship for someone very new to relationships. I don't see it as a good match, personally. 11.5 hours and two routes done. First was 7 ish, so that leaves the second 4.5 hours. I got to skip the informative but unvarying prologue. I also used a guide to ensure a "good end" because I disliked him too much to bother getting a bad one and then repeating for the good one. Whew. It's over with. Time to someone a little less gropey.

Cinderella Phenomenon. I've completed a route. The dialogue choices were far from transparent, so the love interest did not make it. While the lack of epilogue was slightly disappointing, I am going to consider it an "open ending". The MC got one somehow useful skill and this is good enough character development for me.

Deus Ex HR In Hengsha, I was supposed to interview a NPC to get to a target but I went exploring instead. Every crook and corner was not spared, I climbed every ladder there was and accidentally found a praxis unit at the bottom of a lift shaft. Also found another in the sewer, behind a wall. Managed to buy two praxis units at the Hengsha LIMB clinic as well. When it was time for the interview, I headed for the club. What do you know, bouncer wanted 1k as entrance fee. Are you crazy? Nope. I went through the back door. Vents actually and ended in the ladies' room. Fortunately, nobody cared. Picked up a SQ from the bartender and went out the entrance. No reaction from bouncer. Being softhearted , I didn't extort or kill for the SQ. I helped out the NPC instead. I lost 5k credits but got a praxis kit. Oh well, praxis kits costs 5k a piece so it's a even exchange. After that, I headed for the MQ target and ran into Malik who threw Jansen a SQ. The docs Jansen had to read was at the same place he was heading to; pod dwellings. I looked into every pod and NPCs didn't seem to care I was taking their credit chits and stuff. Racked up a tidy sum. Found the target and talked. After the conversation, trouble dropped in. Literally. I was all ready to be merciful but turned when I realised the mobs came in blazing. Killing most of the civilians living in the pod apartments. All right you bastards, you're going down. I shot dead the ones I KO-ed and went hunting.

Doom 2016
A reminder for myself at least - do not play Doom with a terrible headache. Really. Died in simple areas and parts "get rid of everyone" about 20 times, missed a lot, forgot all HKs what is what, simply fell down...at some point it even became funny.
But anyway some progress has been made.
Found Olivia but she went away somewhere. Crossed the bridge and ended up in the tower itself - need to scale it.
Upgraded armor from "dex" part. Found a new monster - Revenant (laughted even). Found double-jump boots. Plasma AR unpgraded for bombs.
Got Super SG - that is something I should say. In Summoner area used it till "zero ammo". Yeah, have "fast reload" btw.
That Summoner in the tower to the right...damn. That thing is to blame for 10 deaths at least. But always nice to watch and exploit how enemies just kill each other: thank you, Summoner, to stagger enemies for me.
Cleaned up that area and decided to stop.

Mankind Divided...is not as much fun as Human Revolution... At least, not so far. The prologue in Dubai was fine, good, even. But on waking in Adam’s apartment after an explosion, I spent the next couple of hours trying to find a way into what I assume is an underground LIMB clinic. I say trying, because I’ve still yet to succeed. I also encountered some weird hypnosis cult in the sewers when I thought that might be the best way in, but the consoles all require high level hacking, which I don’t have yet. Ugh. Maybe it’s just the difference in the way the two games ‘handle’. Hopefully, I’ll Git Gud, and things will be more fun.

You have to go through the Time Machine store the first time you go meet him and the easier path is the back entrance on the other side of the police check point. Avoid the cult for now, it's not meant to be finished at the start of the game. Just go in and start the quest for it, there are some stuff you can discover about the cult leader in the other section of the city.

Tried Kingdom Come Deliverence since the Steam spring cleaning thing suggested it and it was already installed. And why not. Got a bit motion sick first, but removing motion blur helped a bit. So got to the point where you try and get the drunk to pay you back and failed, naturally. So ended up in fisticuffs and...yeah. There wasn't really anything pulling me in before that point and this just yeeted me out and away. But there is still something of a pull in the game. So maybe later.
Ended up playing Shadow Run Dragonfall instead. Never managed to finish it, but can't remember where I stopped last time, since I remember getting stuck while saving a heavily augmented fellow at Glory's request and also during a companion mission in a really weird house.
Did the first two missions, the mansion and the hotel. And realized I misunderstood the hotel quest pretty bad last time I played. So that was fun.
Doing okay at combat but have been pretty skittish about spending Karma. Playing a rigger, with some points in drones and carrying a smg since it sounded cool. (Well machete sounded cooler but I figured rather gun than a knife to gunfights in general.)
But other than that, had a decent time so far.

Miller has also called a couple of times. I was starting to wonder if I was supposed to go to the office first, even though the dialogue suggested I should go to Koller.

You can go see Miller first if you want, but it's more practical to do Koller first. Also, for the Koller mission, you have to go through the Time Machine and deal with the thugs in it. Somewhat annoying, as after that mission I use the much more practical sewer entrance (there is one, but it doesn't work during that mission except to leave the place). Oh and you can sneak by the police check point on the right if I remember properly. But, I was a cat in a previous life so I always climb up in game the moment I can do so.

Steam Prison Oh neat. Apparently finishing 2 routes? or at least Eltcreed's, means I get more information/scenes involving my beloved friend, Fin, on the common route. Sachs is torturing him. So, one more checkmark for "will kill" if I get the chance. Was so close on Eltcreed's route and he stopped me Apparently the Penal Colony doctor is also insane... Fin calls out to Cyrus in his mind to save him Had to turn down Ulrik's offer of a job. He looks disappointed .... and then I meet Adage, the mysterious Depths Doctor. Cheers me up a bit. ...until he denies me services based on my lack of ability to pay okay then. .... and then his conscious bit him and he came back *laughing* okay. He's a fun one. Now that I'm staying in the PEnal Colony, I am reminded of the sensation I recall feeling on my first route. Escaping to the Depths from the dark and depressing penal colony for a job. Only for the job to be mostly standing around watching a rich political figure. With plenty of food, clean water, a nice bed. I felt like a coward; like I'd leapt to the first thing that would put me back in the comforts of her old life up above in the Heights. The Penal Colony is truly cruel, but still, I felt that way. I don't think the MC ever expresses anything but relief soon followed by a new purpose. But she seems to forget everything else she vowed to do on that branch. This branch, it continues to be cruel. But it feels like she's more true to her character so far. A punch to the gut. They killed them... the only people to have offered me kindness down here. Murdered to teach me a lesson. And Adage is there, a sad comfort. I'm definitely going on his route this time. Guess I'm still hiding from the cruelty.

Oh, long story - prefer fantasy to sci-fi, Dragon Age got me first, being obstinate... No real reason, though. Just...never got around to it. ME1 was my first Sci-Fi shooter game having played everything fantasy from BG to DAO at that point and I was addicted immediately to the point of preferring MET over DA !!!!!! I'd definitely recommend playing MET at least once, IMO ME1 is great but its gameplay has dated badly but I think you'll enjoy the story enough to get through it and the other games are far better gameplay wise etc.
