Dropped back into ACOD Picked up where I left off which is Atlantis, opening up the rest of the zone. Gee, I miss Kassandra. She's as different from Aloy as apple is from orange. More sass. God like. Earthy. ... how can one be earthy and yet god like. There's an oxymoron somewhere. I haven't been feeling well lately. That must be it. You know, that kind of floaty sick feeling and yet not sick...feeling. Whatever.

I love Aloy as well but Kass with her humour and no BS policy with Assh$%es is just a really good Protagonist.

In Greedfall:
So latest frustration which was a bit of a doozy. So not exactly sure which quest happened first and which one happened second but there is its one quest where a native tribe wants you to organize a meeting with Hikmet in order to establish trade between the natives and the regaise...and well despite saying that I would stand in on said meeting they made me leave, which worried me, but also made me wait two hours of in game time in order to go back in, which is really too little time to skip ahead or anything. But then in another quest it was advised we wait until dark...but there was a dialogue option to wait till dark. So the first instance was just....pure grind? Which does occur to me though that this game hasn't felt incredibly grindy so far other then that so that is pretty much a pint in its favor, but also a frustration.
Also I do really like how the game handles the whole 'danger music' thing. Using it as a means to let you know when danger is and it gets stronger the closer you get so it can be really weak. Of course it also makes me think of this video: often
Anyways helped Siora bury her mom, helped Vasco find is identity, and helped the natives with the Inquisition's camp.

Oh. My. Gosh.
I found Viva La Dirt League a month ago... I haven't laughed this hard in YEARS.
It reinvigorated me to reinstall Enderal, and boy howdy did I remember to set the difficulty down, because it's a hard game.
Easily a gem of a mod, SureAI is legit.

Finished Alan Wake yesterday (main game)! I thought the story was decent, enough to keep me on the hook, but... maybe not what it was hyped to be. I dunno, maybe if I'd played it 10 years ago when it first came out. Alan Wake was a pretty generic protag all things considered. Barry (as the stereotypical agent) and the Anderson Brothers were probably the most interesting. Alice was just kinda there (and then not there). I felt like the game must have cut a good chunk of Agent Nightengale's story as it felt incomplete. Same with Zane's storyline and the "Night Springs" secret society which never went anywhere (at least in the main game). The latter was the most disappointing. The "Night Springs" TV segments were entertaining though - definitely one of the highlights of the game. The soundtrack was also excellent, especially during the interludes between chapters. Collecting the scattered manuscript was an interesting idea. I just wish the game allowed for a manual save and wasn't so quick to block any passage back the way you came (doors/gates locking behind you, etc.). I missed a couple of pages because of this. I had to google to find out what the point of collecting all those thermoses was. More than anything, the poor movement controls/camera angles and repetitive gameplay are what held this game back for me. You can shine your flashlight on only so many killer lumberjacks before it becomes a chore. There are few (easy) environment puzzles scattered throughout, and a few driving segments, so at least that was something to change it up. I'm about halfway through the first DLC "Signal" now. They seem pretty short, so it shouldn't take too long to get through. I also have American Nightmare, so I'll look at that as well.

My guess always was that it is a game meant to be played by fellow authors. Some manuscript pages only show up on higher difficulties. Yeah, the combat is the reason why I ever just watched others playing it. I've heard that, when the game got finally ported for PC, someone decided that it would be to easy with keyboard/mouse, so they took what is medium difficulty on consoles as the easiest for PC. And that in a game that's all about story.

Unique. But the mini game won't play on a laptop? or something, and even clicking in the settings to skip the mini game doesn't actually skip it. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing it after the intro.
Belong
This is obviously not originally in English. I bored-quit even if the two guy options seem cute. The writing seems almost like a 2nd draft of like IDEA rather than real writing.

SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked. Had fun today, hence the wall of text in spoilers. TL:DR Have made it to around 3'o'clock on the fourth day. Beldr's fight went surprisingly smooth and switched out a quiet nerd boy in the team for a loud anime girl. Good times. So redo that mission where Boomer (my lad) needs to kill more demons than Kaido's (not my lad) team. And what does he do once victory is firmly in Boomers grasp? Summons goshdarn Pazuzu and buggers off. Like are you serious? This isn't the exorcist man. You can't just go around summoning Pazuzu all willy nilly. Anyways, we have more important missions ahead. AKA saving our cosplaying waifu Midori. As you do. Anyways, save her, tell her that maybe summoning demons out in the street while shouting about being "Dolly the warrior of love and justice" might give people the wrong idea. She says LOL NOPE and goes off in a rain of confetti and sparklers. Cool. Anyways, we got a hot date with Beldr tonight so we need to freshen up. Mistletoe style. So we beat the daylights out of some poor sods who were going to kick Beldr's butt and steal their mistletoe. Because aint nobody stealing our glory. Turns out it's in the form of a wee little charm you stick on your cellphone. So cute. Anyways, to the cemetery, the best place to fight to the death because it saves your loved ones some cash delivery wise, especially if your foes bury you afterwards. But in a pretty big surprise I made it through the fight in the first go. It was even...dare I say...easy? So we beat up his followers then gently moved to Beldr (he was just standing there, occasionally farting Vampire Mist, a chill dude). Send one team member in to attack, but surprise surprise, the main char is the one carrying the mistletoe so he needs to be the one to attack. So move Boomer over and find out that the Mistletoe is just one move. A decently powerful move mind you, but Boomer will have to kill Beldr using that move and that move only. Now there is no description of the move, so I'm just gonna headcanon Boomer beat Beldr to death using his cellphone. He did summon some more followers during the epic beating, but nothing dangerous. And so, we stopped our predicted death and prolonged our lives! For three more days! Which is one shorter than everyone elses predicted life time. Yay. Also found out why Beldr is called that instead of Baldur, despite sharing his whole backstory. It's so he can compete in the fight for the Throne of Bel. Aka all the demons competing have Bel in their names...I don't even. Well actually I do kinda, since his whole gimmick of being immune to all but one thing was pretty cool. I mean Achilles kinda has the same gimmick, but he's not a god and the Bel stuff would be even more of a stretch there so...I'll accept it. So that was the end of the third day and we move to the fourth. Where we get our daily prediction mail and learn at least two of our friends are gonna die! Wooo!. And one of them is Midori, who is predicted to be murdered by a bunch of anime hating humans. Tsk tsk. Upon learning that one party member (Keisuke) looses his mind, says screw you to humanity and leaves in a huff. Cool story bro. Anyways, go off to save Midori from the humans. Sadly we can't murder them, so fail the mission the first time because for some reason normal humans can't survive a demonic beating. Who could've known? Anyways, Keisuke party crashes the fight and summons bloody Yama on the scene. Like excuse you? Either way, he's a punk and is put down easily so he teleports him and Yama out of the battle with tears in his eyes and threats of vengence later on. Cool story bro. Midori as usual learns nothing and runs off to do some more anime stuff. As you do. Do some talking around town, then stumble upon her once more as she's being hunted by even more humans. You just can't catch a break, now can you? But don't need to fight this time around, we just have a nice chat, make her cry a little and boom, she's in our party. Yay. Then do a little bit of vigilanting, save a beleaguered businessman and break some demon summoning computers because only we can enslave the demon kind! Next up got a fight involving Honda and Kaido, which I did read about a little yesterday when venting about the fight at the start of this post. And it looks like it's gonna make me cry in frustration. I can't wait.

By Your SideA mini game that is your job asking you to go take photographs. But there are only three locations to click. And I've done it 12 times and it's "Flowers, Boats, Boats, River, Bees, Boats, Bees, Store Front, Ducks" you get the idea. Why. Why would they even bother. And they force you to talk to your lesbian already-with-you-romance-partner every day, but she starts repeating dialogue on day 5. and you win? peices of clothing to dress you girlfriend in as the story progresses. I did like the music and the sounds the girlfriend made; like "darling" and laughter. And the IDEA behind how they got together was interesting if they'd have just got on with it already. But I bored quit, as you can obviously guess. Anoldor: A DemoMan, this was on point. I was hooked and I'll try to flag it as something to wait for at this point. I "followed" it on Ichio. The protagonist expression rocks. Magical Otoge Iris: A DemonThe protagonist goes into a long speech about how no one cares if they get hurt, they're a nobody, it's okay if they die--- I turn off the game and delete it off my computer. Screw that noise.

In Greedfall:
Now that was a pretty good sequence of events. I finally got around to tracking down Kurt's little shadow company in their secret little base out in the middle of nowhere...and first off the Captain I could swear was voiced by none other then Blackwall.
But anyways it was a nice little mystery of what was going on with the shadow and spectre companies the elite of the elite. I was a little skeptical because I know that United States Special Forces go through some pretty extreme training so I was wondering if they were making a dig, but the Ghost Company's methods do seem a little on the babaric side even for us.
So we had to do our usual running around at night sneaking in through the area t gain intelligence...this time it just went to nightfall. Kurt was extolling the virtues of no bloodshed in the camp...while some of the camp guards already were spotting me and attacking. And then I failed the first check so I had to wipe out the group which was doing the 'night training'. But I did say Willhelm...which did lead to one of the best put together choices in the game so far, as I could mention that I saved Willhelm which let me talk the rest of the guards down so at least I was able to save someone and then was able to arrest Rolf and close the camp.
All and all a very well put together quest.
But the thing is at the end of it De Sardet mentioned speaking to the governors because one of the letters of the governor said that these trainees were being put into the coin guard staff protecting each of the govs which does raise alarm bells given these people have been called 'assassins'. But, then we did not go to see each one of the governors. Now since I know where this is going...well it is more then a little curious that we weren't able to go inform the masks.

Made more progress in Control.
Found the Bureau had made a paper model replica of Jesse's home town, which was nice and physically relocated the town dump into the middle of New York...which was less nice.
Then had to find the janitor, who, I am 99% certain, is an extra-dimensional being of questionable taste in music and dubious command of human language.
About to head into the Ashtray maze which will apparently now be navigable because I have the janitor's walkman...
.....how did they get a greenlight to make this? I mean, I'm really glad they did...but selling this to some executive at a publisher must've been one hell of a ride.

Nobody Italian publisher (505 Games) wanting to make a splash by having a known studio game (Remedy made Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Brake) in their portfolio is my guess...and then they just "sold it" to Epic.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker The baroness and company went to the Swamp Witch`s hut in search of a missing child whose mother thought he was kidnaped by the local witch. As it turned out the witch didn`t know anything about the boy. While in the area they met a couple of fey that asked them to fight a monstrous scithe-tree. They defeated the monster, who was once a dryad queen, and while investigating the abandoned village (and after talking with a spirit and a ghoul), they`ve discovered that someone tricked a human girl (the dryad`s bride), her ex fiancé and her father into falling under a curse. All that the baroness could do was to bring peace to the father`s spirit and kill the ghoul.
Afterwards they ventured into the lizardfolk village and discovered that the missing child was there and that the lizardfolk thought a god spoked through him. Aeowyn convinced the village chief to allow her to speak with this supposed god (i used another lawfull action, only one left for the achievement). With the help of an old shaman lizardfolk, the group managed to kill the will-o'-wisp that had kidnapped the child and the child runned back to the capital to meet his mother.
Aeowyn travelled north and joined Kalikke and together, with a bit of Kanerah`s help, they retrieved an artifact, the Disk of the Eclipse, that allows the sisters to switch back and forth freely at will. They both agreed to join the baroness afterwards.
Back at the capital, Aeowyn received a letter from paladin Fredero Sinnet asking the return of Valerie to the service of Shelyn. Aeowyn and Valerie traveled to meet the paladin and after some heated words between Fredero and Valerie, the paladin challenged her to a duel that Valerie won, although she ended up with a scar crossing her face.

.....how did they get a greenlight to make this? I mean, I'm really glad they did...but selling this to some executive at a publisher must've been one hell of a ride. Nobody Italian publisher (505 Games) wanting to make a splash by having a known studio game (Remedy made Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Brake) in their portfolio is my guess...and then they just "sold it" to Epic. If *gags* Fornite money is what it took to get a game like this over the line, then I am OK with that.

I put it into my wishlist earlier but I don't want to read anything about it We have similar tastes methinks

Other than a bit of a learning curve at the start - and no difficulty settings - it is really great so far.

Songs and Flowers
It hit me in the feels and kept me interested, even if there were like...4 choices at all, and only maybe one of them even mattered. The one that mattered is if you stayed friends or asked the guy to be your boyfriend. My favorite part was how frequently and ridiculously the female protagonist cussed.
