yeah...I decided that at least vampirism itself isn't for my Sim, so I remade her to be a spell-caster instead...less dangerous that way, which will still mean getting visits from ol' Vlad, but at least my own sim won't have to suffer from constant hunger (maybe some sleep deprivation but I can deal with that) Time to invest in garlic? Sure it'll also keep Caleb out but, like, is that that big of a loss? Never bothered with vampires since I usually rotational play and I don't trust them to not grill themselves the moment I loosen my hold on them. Not that I blame them. Figure fire will be the spell casters bane, since now they don't need stoves to cast it. Or dryers. And now I want to get back into sims.

but there's some cuties in Realm of Magic as well...I'm sure I'll be able to find someone for my Sim
I usually don't play vampires in any game either, but they had some nice customization options (plus unlocking pointy-ears for all occult states) and buy options...and it was on a discount due to Halloween methinks.
sometimes I just buy packs I find interesting...I buy less and less expansion with each Sims installment though Sims 1: only 3 expansions (pets, party-ing and magic (I love makin' magic...it was just so funny) Sims 2: all expansions + stuff-packs Sims 3: all expansions + a bunch of store stuff Sims 4: at present just the two game packs Vampires and RoM...I do plan on getting Seasons and maybe Pets as well...'cause apparently dogs can count as familiars this time around as well, and not just cats (plus you can make foxes...which should be fun as well)

LadyofNemesis Foxes in Sims 4 are basically just skins for dogs. So while they look pretty cute they get no special features from dogs. Cats also have pretty cute raccoon skin if I remember correctly, but no special interactions different from the normal cat ones. Just so you know. Season was pretty nice in memory. Nothing outstanding on it's own but added a lot in the background of the game. Ended up investing all in almost all the packs for Sims 4 back in the day, since I got a bit obsessed with a family I made in it. Got to three generations and then the tree borked. Then some of the kids started stopping being related to their mother and the magic was kinda lost. Still think about them two years later and never really got that magic back. Never really got into Sims 3, since my computer couldn't run it well. Still ended up buying two or three expansions packs I think. Got all the expansion packs for Sims 2, but no stuff packs. Spent so many hours on it. Just got the base game for Sims 1, but got to borrow a couple of expansion packs from a friend, but never got really into it. Do remember making Bella Goth flirt with Michael Bachelor and feeling real weird when Sims 2 hit. ---- On topic. Horizon Zero Dawn. Finally finished the Frozen Wilds. Got a chuckle out of smoking the vents and really liked the dynamic between Aratok and Ourea, but feel like I would've had a better time just watching a let's play on it. Let someone else suffer the combat while I admire the skyboxes. Because wow. So pretty. Persona 4 Have made it to the Void Dungeons. Really digging the music there, but not a fan of Optimus Prime who keeps popping up and laughing off my elemental damage while almost one shotting me with each swing of his robotic arms. And he's not a boss, but a general mook. So been seeing a lot of him. But the tunes are so good I can't stay mad.

Let someone else suffer the combat while I admire the skyboxes. Because wow. So pretty. Did you like the side quests and the NPC's in them? I thought most of them were really well done and the NPC's great. Did you collect all the data points etc re the women at the dam and their band? I really liked that the best of all the recordings you find. Did you collect all the animals for the museum, as you can see above my avatar I am a fan!!!!!! I liked that we got to free Cyan, did you go back and chat with her after you finished the game? She has a few things to say.

Are you playing on pc? if you don't know, the difficulty is customizable, and you can increase the xp and money you gain. I was always 10 levels above the recommended for each boss. If you don't have time to complete all S. links in this playthrough, I recommend doing a second one, because they're such a treasure.
I'm emulating Persona 3 now, and I can't wait for PS5 so I can play Persona 5. Easily one of my favorite franchises.

I often feel that many things (like seasons) should be part of the base game...but I suppose that's all part of EA's strategy. last week they had some sort of weird glitch (or something alike) in the EA store that you needed to buy the latest gamepack (the Star Wars one) in order to play other packs as I understand the Star Wars pack wasn't that well received and many fans believed it was some sort of ploy from EA to get people to buy the pack.
I myself didn't get that glitch, however when I bought Vampires the EA store did do the old 'you might like this pack as well' trick and tried to shove the Star Wars pack forward as well Joke's on them though...I love magic but I'm not a big sci-fi fan

Started the Foundation DLC in Control. That tiny object in front of the firebreak is a bobble-head style cat that waves a paw at the door. Because Control. Overall, so far, this DLC is far more interesting and satisfying than the Alan Wake DLC. You get a new power which is very situational, but basically an insta-kill for almost anything, more traversal options and more 'emergent' gameplay (although the game already has plenty of that). This game is just awesome. It's not the huge time sink that games I like usually are, but at over 35 hours in and still not finished everything, I've more than got my moneys worth with this one.

Because Halloween comes up (and because it was on sale) I tried out Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice yesterday. I am not that far in yet but it's pretty cool so far. I find the voices disturbing but they are not too bad yet, let's see how that continues. I made one big mistake though. Tip: When you play this game, just play it, do not google anything about it. And read this spoiler section about my mistake only if you have already played through the game. Unfortunately, I was too curious about how quickly the black rot would spread, aka how careful I need to be in combat. So I googled it and of course, I immediately found out that the perma-death mechanic that is explained in the beginning is just a bluff by the developers and there is no perma-death in the game. What a brilliant move by the devs though, to just put that fear into the player. Dam the internet (and my use if it o course) for ruining it for me now. I probably go through this game too relaxed now.

Continuing with Baldur's Gate 3. Finishing my current play-through with the Arcane Tower, after finding the "hidden" passage to the Hag's Lair. I am going to take down Bernard, even if it isn't technically necessary. Once I finish that and find the last small hidden area in the Underdark, I will embark on the final Skiff to the....end of EA. I also have a Wizard half-elf ready to go, for a new play through. Woot!

Salamandra88 was the writer of 7 visual novels 5 of which I own now. It's really clear that her writing and directing improved as she continued on. - Never Give up, released in 2016. Awkward but readable translation, and awkward romances. Standard uninspired teen in high school. Pretty art.
- Sweet Fantasy, released April 2018. Acceptable translation, but a super dumb protaganist I can't read past the start of. Pretty art
- Escape From the Princess, released Sept 2018, Acceptable translation, kinda dumb protaganist, pretty art now has sparkle effects.
- These Nights in Cairo, released Oct 2018. Big jump in quality of story, protaganist. Art still pretty, some sound effects. Interesting setting. Problematic but interesting romances.
- Heiress of Sorcery, released Aug 2020. This is the one I started with. Liked the protaganist, the art, great use of sound effects and art. It's ending was too quick and one of its three romances really on the weird side.
And now nothing more will come. Based on Heiress, I likely would have bought future releases from this author. I literally had Covid back in April, then my Indian Lover has been trapped in his home country since the pandemic began. Of course I wear a mask 10 hours a day at work and most of my social interactions are via Zoom. So this is hardly the only effect covid has had on my life, but for some reason, I dwell on it more. Makes me wonder what I'll leave behind. I've never met this woman, but I feel I would have liked such a creative romantic personality. I wonder if the title of her first game, Never Give Up, was more in reference to herself than the story. Because the title is a bit random for the story given.

I don't remember who I am. There is a girl laying on the ground over there in a school uniform crying. I walk up to her and she turns her head.
GASP. She is wearing a bone mask of a goat! What is up with that? But also... something seems off about her. says the dialogue window

Stardew Valley. Slowly finishing my old PT. Now day 13 of Winter, year 2. My baby is now crawling on the floor. Woot! Hopefully the wife doesn't run off to town leaving the baby alone too often. I had to check online why I had grown a single sweet gem berry. I didn't remember. My hunt for a prismatic prism continue. I need at least 1, better if 2. Never saw one in more than 100 hours playing the game...

I bet it's school uniform. Never trust random characters in school uniforms. Ya know, it was really the term "sailor uniform" that had me thinking for a second. That there was a girl in some sort of military outfit and then it clicked that I was playing a Japanese game. All the villains wear ridiculously short school uniforms, confirmed fact.

I played the heck out of that game when it came out. I became the most productive alcohol creator in the region and romanced everyone before they put in that monogamous minded patch. Got all the candles lit and turned it off. Job well done. Plus it closed off some nostalgia for me. All the times I'd started Harvestmoon in my childhood only for my attention span to croak around beginning of year two. I was 31 years old, but by gawd, I finished it. (stardew valley standing in for harvestmood here.)

Psych of the Butterfly Terrible user interface. Save system is "auto save" only. I had to read parts of the prologue twice and an hour later I still hadn't gotten to make a Story Choice making this more of a Kinetic Novel. Then it has a fighting mini game that doesn't work on my laptop and all Id wanted to do for half an hour was reach a save point so I could do anything else (and maybe come back when I was more patient.) If you like VNs based on the voice acting, though, this has professional sounding anime level voice actors in Japanese. The fact that no one remembers their names or lives, but do remember how to: use a cell phone, make tea, and fight doesn't help. Neither does assuming the man must protect the woman (cultural assumptions) and that the female protagonist must default be better at nursing than the other guy (cultural assumptions again). bleh. What I get for trying a East Asian based game. They just aren't going to have good protagonists or non sexist LIs. I put in for a refund on Steam Edit Add: Next up (these were on sale) - Hustle Cat
- Absolute Alchemical Potion
- Demonheart
- Long Live the Queen
- Earthshine (Its a $1 !)

In Civ 6. So falls the Aztecs, so falls Carthage. I actually find it really amusing that in this game my main two rivals at the first two civilizations/ city states which fell in this game are my main two rivals in the series. I mean I didn't even plan it since the Aztecs attacked me first! And sure the Aztecs are still technically around and could technically cause me issues later but in a way that does make it even more worthy of revenge. But yeah I do not know exactly how this started but my utter despising of the Cartiginians began with Civilization 2 and the epic cheat wars I would get into. Civ 3 did for the Aztecs. So yeah they fell to my Battleship guns. I have actually quite a navy going, I think anyways...of course its hard to add reinforcements given that they take a long time to build new units...oh and Sea Dogs can upgrade into Subs!. But yeah I did the usual trick of sending my ironclad in to take the city. Anothre annoyance which happened though too was a Bandit Caravel basically blockaded outside of Seoul...not one of my cities but one of my main allies...and well it was doing that and picking off my trade routes...so I had to send one of my battleships up there to get rid of it...and it took three turns to blow up a wooden boat...with a battleship. Also one of my sea dogs literally ran into an entire Barbarian...well..task force. The issue here is how do I hold onto all my holdings while continuing to move onto my next military objectives Scythia and China? The world may never know.

Mass Effect 2
Just started out. Made my Shepard look a little more weather-beaten than usual - actually taking advantage of the male 'complexion' slider for once - because it's just a little hard to believe that his face made a complete recovery without so much as a bruise to show for having fallen from orbit.
Am now doing the Renegade/Paragon glitch at the Lazarus Station while watching The Mandalorian on the side to get both scores up so I won't be penalized for actually roleplaying and occasionally picking neutral dialogue choices later in the game. While glaring daggers at that smarmy fuck Jacob.
Did I mention that my little sister played through the series last year, and he broke her heart because he couldn't keep his dick in his pants for more than a few months between games? As if the whole "Oh, yeah, I joined a terrorist organization because I felt underused but somehow I'm still a good man because my dad inadvertently ended up running an isolated sex slavery brainwashing cult and at least I'm better than that" bullshit wasn't bad enough.
I think I'm going to be pretty hard on him in this playthrough, in keeping with Sebastian Shepard being a dedicated Alliance man and seriously looking down on his choices, and then I'm going to stick him into a Collector ventilation shaft where he'll melt to death while opening a door for me. See if he feels underutilized after that. Alternately, I'll make Legion do that and let Jacob get snatched up by a seeker swarm instead, to get rid of both of them.
Ahem, in any case it's nice to be back. Mass Effect 2 is still one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and I can't wait to see all my old buddies again. And have inappropriate sexual chemistry and occasional lapses of judgement with Miranda while guiltily missing Liara. Yeah, I'm a hypocrite, sue me.

I probably go through this game too relaxed now. Oh. That's disappointing. I only played the start. Found the battle too stressful and not a puzzle girl. But really pretty visuals. Hope you enjoy it to the end
