Just wondering which do you prefer starting as? Better question-how much does it cost to respec your points if I wanna screw around with builds often?

It costs 20 for the first time. Subsequent re-specs each costs an additional 500.

Adept is easier on higher difficulties at the start. Vanguard needs heavy point investment to shine at higher difficulties.
Adept is better at clearing multiple grunts at a time. Vanguard is better at dealing with bruiser mobs like Anointed and Destined and the annoying dogs that charge you.
Both biotics struggle with boss mobs, because the best thing against boss mobs is shotguns with incendiary ammo.
