Hey,
before going on further just to point out I'm still relatively fresh to MEMP, having 80hours on ME3 and now 40 on MEA. Right now I am playing lvl 20 asari adept X and pugging gold (lance shield burn speced).
Anyways, I'm always around 20k (when not using any boosters) and on pugs that makes me either 1st or 2nd in points. But the way I need to play it (or the way I'm playing it, dunno, maybe doing something wrong) - I usually hang in place that gives me some cover, has 2-3 ways out, so I can fight my way out of trouble. Ocasionally I need cover to get shields back, and well, to stay out of snipers. On each map I usually have 3-4 places I like to hang around, switching them frequently as fight goes on, depending on situation.
I need to get in range quickly, kills stuff and move on, to get most use out of anihilation. Which more or less always takes me away from the group. I usually burn few med-kits and one or 2 medigels, but I can hold my own. As most of the people use Vanq, it just makes me solo my part of the map. Was wandering how should I play class like mine atm and is there any general tips how should I move or I dunno, where to position etc? I'm doing objectives ofc, but aside from that... its just solo run in group of 4. Following snipers is just recipe for me to get killed or not to be effective at all.
Also, if there are any groups taking people to play with (PC) - I'm all for that. Still have plenty to learn and I don't benefit from pugging much atm :/

Still have plenty to learn and I don't benefit from pugging much atm :/ This is how I Built my AA - Throw 6: 4,5,6 - All B radius make it harder to dodge, recharge time for more throws.
- Annihilation 6: 4A,5A,6B - more Radius more enemies caught in the field, More dmg to enemies less time spent killing them, Floating enemies can't shoot/hit you.
- Lance 1: Find it pretty unreliable easy to miss under pressure.
- Off Biotics 6: 4B,5A,6B - Recharge Speed less time waiting, More Melee/gun dmg, more dmg again always good.
- Barrier 6: 4A,5B,6B - More shields, More melee dmg and shield returned on melee gunna be punching lots of stuff works well with the build, and this is a life saver must have.
I play very agressively with this build and it works great in gold either solo or working together with another caster build, was in one match that was 2 other AA and the Kineticist was pretty hilarious.

I just run around and prime and aggro everything, then bring it to the Krogans to play with.

It really depends on what kind of teammates you have and what guns and classes they are using. I recommend adapting your playstyle each game to your team. Your current playstyle seems fine if most of the team is vanquishers. I like to play a sort of defender/guardian role by keeping all the close range enemies like the adhi/wraiths off the snipers (I also play snipers and find them really annoying when they start biting you all of a sudden) and just providing assistance for teammates.
I have noticed that there are typically players who like to camp in one or two spots, roam around either solo or stick together with other teammates. If your team is mostly sticking together (either camping or roaming around), I usually stay close to them and help out with close to medium range enemies. If everyone is spread out, I will pretty much roam around killing enemies (I usually try to pick small groups and stay indoors/avoid open areas as it's riskier to attack large groups) while checking on teammates and seeing if they need assistance. That's how I like to play my Asari Adept, and I really enjoy adapting my playstyle each game. It really helps to keep the gameplay fresh. Alternating between different characters has also helped to keep things fresh for me.
