So I want to restart my KOTOR II playthrough (never played it before this, only partway through the game) because I done fucked up (as usual for a first playthrough) and now Visas is all light side (and I was even trying to go gray Jedi Q.Q) and I'm worried that I won't even be able to get all the members of the party before the story gets too far in because my natural instincts apparently will always lead me to do things in the worst possible order. I feel like I need a guide to get the most out of this game, but I'm worried about spoilers, especially if this game has another huge reveal like the first KOTOR did (which I somehow managed to avoid getting spoiled before I played it), but I can't find a single walkthrough tagged as spoiler-free. Does anyone know of a walkthrough that does a good job of avoiding spoilers? If not, do you have any advice for what order I should do things in or things to keep in mind when interacting with party members? I'm trying to play a straight female gray Jedi, and I prefer to recruit possible love interests ASAP.

They automatically fall in love with you if influence is high (though they never indicate as much to you directly; it simply creates conflict between them and other squadmates).

Fuck that shit, then. Why am I even trying to play this game? Are you serious? And he is full of shit. The arc's are short, to be sure, and really only result in a very PG culmination with anyone, but especially with TSLRCM you will have some added party drama depending on who you favor, and it will affect the end-game significantly. Do yourself a favor, download TSLRCM and play the game through the way you have been. Then play it again, differently. It is a better RPG than anything Bioware ever made.

I'm not lying, though… I very much enjoyed the game and played it with multiple pathways, in terms of character, class, alignment and so on. I don't think the lack of romance is one of its issues (of which there are many.) My core issue with it is its abuse of lore– and the way its interpretation of those elements was carried forward in SWTOR.

Yes, I'm serious. I could have ignored all of the game's faults and my aggravation while playing it if only it had decent romance arcs, but if it doesn't, then it's probably not worth the frustration.

The TSLRCM fixes the faults. If you play vidya for pr0n, I can only laugh and say more power to ya.

I never felt they did anything that was "lore breaking", and they brought the human element back into what being a human Jedi is, which as an adult I found pretty necessary, and the actual rule and not the exception in Star Wars and the EU. I am glad you played with the mod, many friends of mine worked many hard hours on it, and I made a minor contribution or two myself behind the scenes. That the story still didn't work for you, is ok I guess

My fundamental issue is Obsidian's idea that the Force could be removed from a living thing, when the SW lore has always been that the Force and life are essentially the same thing (sure, Force 'users' are sensitive to/aware of it, but it inherently exists in all living things.) Didn't Avellone say at some point that he basically hates Star Wars anyway?

Didn't Avellone say at some point that he basically hates Star Wars anyway? The thing is, no such thing ever happened. Nobody's force juice was taken away. What the Masters, and the Sith Lords, did to the Exile and Darth Traya was deafened the force to them partially. There strength returned greater than before. Whether Avellone hates Star Wars isn't relevant to me; the story he made in their universe was outstanding, and had LA not rushed them like another publisher we know (ahem) it would have blown KotOR out of the water.

I assume that "TSLRCM" stands for "The Sith Lords something something Mod"?
And I play RPGs for the story, character interactions, and general immersion. If the game's story suddenly turns all of my non-Jedi squadmates into Jedi, it takes away their uniqueness and cheapens them for me as companions. If I can change a Sith character to full light side just from 5 minutes of normal conversation, my personal investment in her as a character is lost. I want the characters to feel real. I want them to react to me differently based on how I roleplay. I want to feel connected to them, and what better way to nurture a deep connection than through getting to know them intimately? Yeah, I might appreciate some actual pr0n (fuck yes Jaal romance), but what I'm really looking for is the social aspect of human (and alien) relationships.

Play the game before spouting such nonsense! KOTOR II's characters are better written, more real and nuanced than any BioWare character.

OP, here is maybe what can help you with a female character:
1. There are two males who are officially interested in your character, both humans, however, no openly romantic dialogues. The game though have a lot of dialogue, and by the end of it, tbh, I felt like everyone, men or women, friend or foe was in love with my protagonist. No kissing, but the emotionally charged cut scenes are there. The third male character, imo has the best relationship between the female PC and a male character in any game ever, with a monologue I still remember that is a confession of the highest order of love that ever graced a video-game. Well, I think so, but obviously, the mileage may vary. But yeah, it's been four years since I played KOTOR2, and after playing SWTOR, MET and DA franchise afterwards, Thane's the closest I came to KOTOR2 in terms of being digitally in love with the character, and Thane is more content endowed than the K2 chars.
2. The Restored Content Mod is a must imo, because KOTOR2 was an unfinished game. The mod manages to add back everything Obsidian had to leave on the floor of the cutting room and does it lovingly. Those who made it were beautiful souls. www.moddb.com/mods/the-sith-lords-restored-content-mod-tslrcm
3. For the female character wanting to get to know the Male LI's faster, the recommended order of planets is:
1.) Dantooine (leave once you get a joinable character)
2.) Nar Shaddaa (be attentive in the Refugee district in respect to a dialogue with twileks)
3.) Return to Dantooine.
4.) Onderon
5.) Korriban.
4. For one of your male LIs, you have to really be attentive in the Refugee District in Nar Shadda and pick a conversation with two twileks. It really expands on his backstory and opens up follow up conversations and revelations.
5. If you are looking for more traditional romances, I suggest DL'ing SWTOR and playing the SP for free there. There is only one alien male to romance there & only one male per story for a female PC. Your PC can be an alien. In the free version of the game it's limited to Zabrack only for PC. If you catch a sub on sale, you can get a couple of months, and way more races for your PC, and subsequently, a touch more options than a completely free version.
Other than that, it's like every other game, play it, talk to them a lot, and bring along the chars you like the most.
Hope this helps!

Well, whatever pops up on the search engine. I don't think the OP is around anyway. Oh, well. ''Tis a good game and a good mod.
