So I started paying multiplayer recently, and so far having a good experience. but I really don't like the reward system in this game. for most of the games I play, the game gives you some kind of reward every time when you finish a mission. however, in MEA, you get nothing, except in-game credits, which you need to save up like crazy in order to buy a reward pack in the store. It just makes me wonder why would Bioware do this? Why can't player be rewarded after each mission? The reward doesn't have to be big, it can be sth like first aid package, ammo package, and etc., it doesn't have to be guns or mods, but these little things are still better than nothing.

The current system is designed with the intention of encouraging players to spend real money on packs in the store. If you're rewarded for playing the game, then there's little incentive for people to want to spend real money, which goes against EA's mission statement.
The reason their plan fails completely is because the rare and ultra rare weapons suck balls. If they didn't suck so bad, more people would be spending real money on the game. Their plan backfired because they went too far in terms of making the weapons too weak.

You don't HAVE to buy the most expensive pack. In fact, when starting out you want to buy basic packs exclusively, to max out the human characters(nearly all of which are ranked among the best in the game) and to get the charger, which at X will get you through until you get something better. Also, you can spend mission funds from strike teams on first aid packs and whatnot, so that's something.

I have been doing it wrong the whole time? I have always been saving up like crazy so I can buy those premium packs. Gosh, should have watched some vids regarding what packs to buy in multiplayer. also, what do you mean upgrades? what kind of upgrades are we talking about? Currently I'm playing my Turian Havoc Trooper, which some says on YouTube is one of the most devastating character in the game. So the upgrades you guys mentioned, will they make my character more powerful?

But you can buy basic packs for 5k. Even completing a bronze game gives you what? 12K? 2 packs? Or if you just want something for completing it supply crates are 2K each so even a bronze gives you 6.

Each time you get a card for a character or a weapon, it adds to it, from I to X, so ten ranks for each. You want to buy a ton of basic packs to max all the common characters and gear as quickly as you can before moving up to more expensive packs as that will also increase the chances of better stuff from the higher packs in addition to making your commons more powerful.
With a level 1 character that is rank x, for instance, you get 25 skill points to use.

Our very own penguinfetish did a video on this; link - I went the other route, and slavishly bought basic packs until I had all characters, weapons and mods at X, before moving to uncommon. I'm about 80% done with Rare drops now, but I also dropped enough cash to buy 70 Premium packs right off the gate. My go to weapons are the Raptor (uncommon), Black Widow (Ultra Rare) and Hurricane (Ultra rare) - however consensus here on BSN prefers the Vanquisher for sniping (Rare) - so it would depend on what you get, and where you want to be.

The havoc trooper is one the WORST kits since flak cannon and incinerate are trashcans. Play human vanguard, infiltrator or soldier intead.

Anyways. Here, have ten minutes of your life you'll never get back.
