I was going through the "Strike Team" app today, and I was thinking that it would be really great to have a true "companion app". This app could have capabilities like access to the codex, the ability to Research and Develop items (after choosing a particular Ryder playthrough), ability to spend AVP points to unlock Cryo Pods, etc, as well as the current "Strike Team" abilities.
What does everyone else think about this? I know that it probably should have launched with the game to make it worthwhile, and that there are far more pressing matters for the devs to deal with at the moment (like glitches, bugs, animations, etc), but I like to think of what else could be in the game, or in future ME games.
What other capabilities do you think would be useful for this app?

Companion apps always sound good, but never seem to work correctly.
Being able to access the entire ME Codex would be fun, I guess. The wiki practically fills this role, as is. If they keep updating it with MEA info, it will remain a go to place for ME lore.
Being able to manage Strike Teams on the go would be great, but I can't see it working properly, given the ties to MP. (How is its functionality?)
I've tried many companion apps, and the only features that have ever worked well were the map features. Having the map in front of you on a tablet, and being able to set markers, switch quests, etc... would be okay. It's not likely something I'd always use, though, since logging into it and syncing it is just extra effort.

Yeah, I realized that it sounded as if I didn't know that; so I edited in a question about it. (Too slowly, apparently!) The reviews aren't great, as I'd expected. These things just never seem to work consistently. If it worked, it would be fun to be linked on the go.

I haven't actually had any issues with it, but of course that doesn't mean others have not. I find it useful, as I can only get on to play MEA once every few days, and so it gets me some materials and research points with which to experiment with while I'm still relatively early in the game. Nothing exploity, as some things are locked behind level.
