I like Elaaden a lot, just wish it had a bit more.
I also like Morda, that was the first krogan that I have met that I found creepy, I could really see Morda having a part in a scary/creepy-movie. Have no idea what she will do next, she says "friends" now but I fully believe that she would drop the Nexus and their alliance the second she no longer sees a use for it. I don't trust her one bit.
My Ryder took the deal with Morda, but made a mental note to look up Morda's age. For how many generations will humanity be stuck with that one. Scary stuff. I enjoy Morda as a player because I find her so creepy and untrustworthy in game. I took notice of her, she made an impression.
For my part I am glad that they have had a few Krogan that are not the run of the mill "rawwr-badass"-usual type.

I hate Eos, its very boring to drive on that planet, feels like driving in the middle of a huge city. Elaaden on the other hand, very enjoyable. They should put more effort into the cut scenes on Elaaden though. Maybe cut some stuff out of Eos. I actually wish that we could have more of an effect on the landscape of Eos, namely being able to clear out that kett garbage littered about to the north. Like if I get some krogan with explosives there, we can watch the glorious fireworks from one of the big cliffs.

The story with the krogan colony is so ridiculously short and abruptly brought to a close. I think they realized how badly Morda was cast for voice talent, and that's why she barely has any lines. If people write stuff such as this, I immediately stop reading.

Elaaden is pretty, atomospheric, and interesting. I can't say its my favorite of the five planets but it is....well interesting. I loved how Krogan the planet felt. Yet how not Krogan the planet felt. And being pretty much the only planet with no connection to the main story (though I suppose some could argue Havarl also qualifies), it makes sense that it should feel optional. This is this game's version of all those big maps that everyone complained about in Inquisition. I felt it was Eos landscape recoloured in lighter shade with Kadara plants, and some of Tattoine's sands thrown in. I get it, they wanted to make Meridian feel like we've finally reached Paradize, so it looks like temperate forest (so beloved in Inquisition maps, lol) but I'd rather they did scattered islands within oceans, tectonic movements so unstable that erosion is too fast, there are ravines, mudslides, tsunamis, etc, and nothing but various grasses can take hold.

It baffles how a game with over 4 years of development time can still feel so rushed like Andromeda. Because there is a very good reason it actually was rushed. They said recently that their initial vision was something like "100 planets" so they intended to auto-generate it, No Man's Sky style but the tech couldn't hold up to scrutiny. It sounds like they wasted a lot of time, probably years, making a bad game that didn't work until, as we know, a lot of significant staff left around early 2016 and then they probably shifted vision to the safe-route that was almost exactly like DA:I, got BW Edmonton and Austin to help them build the game and that's what we got. A slightly improved but also slightly more rushed Inquisition sequel in a Mass Effect skin but with a nicer main mission.

They chose to use the NMS procedural crap and got burned.

I unintentionally skipped Elaaden my first run because I got so caught up in chasing Archon who seemed a major threat that I thought I could hold off on Elaaden for a bit only to have Kandos say Elaaden won't happen during the council choice. I thought that was because I didn't do it but it seems that is his line anyway? Elaaden was a boring desert. Reminded me of the desert we had in DAI. I was sad about that. We only get 5 planets and one is basically a nighttime jungle shoebox with no need for the nomad. One is a big effin desert that takes a while to drive across. One is a small borderline desert with a few bodies of water. One is a ball of ice that used to be parafreakingdise. One is an Ilos run but with less to see and more to drive with no stopping allowed. And the last is massive mountains with neatly carved paths between them. I call bullshit on Kadara's map because it is some lazy crap that they basically filled with a ton of mountains you can barely climb, a few caves, a few mob points, some puddles, and the thinnest of roads between the mountains. That is a terrible map. Elaaden was nothing. I mean a modder relatively new to making maps could do better. I know because I have seen it on Nexus for skyrim. Voeld was kind of cool due to some points of interest there at least. All I am saying is they better step up their world development for the next game. The viability stuff only works once. Next time they have to have some decent maps with development and the kind like when you went back to Eden Prime in ME3 you could see a little something more than the port you saw in ME1. I want to see something like that but larger scale. I want to see all the worlds we helped with our vault work and I want to see transformation, civilization starting. I want to be in awe at changes that have started, to see life there and even the early start of cities and towns in other areas of the map. I want to go back and be like 'oh I remember this was where Resilience was and look at it now. It's like a town and they have a lake and memorial there. Or on Voeld, I want to go back and see icebergs and water and have some of the drastic shifts in weather be impacting the planet, perhaps it's got areas that are not safe while the ice melts and temperatures increase. Maybe you have some quests there and you see how the vaults helped and hurt it some, or see it partially transformed. I really hope they give us something to see the progress over time and the impact of the vaults and meridian. There's a lot they can do and they can even recycle the maps with just some additions and changes if needed. I enjoyed these worlds more than you did, it seems, but you make lots of good points.

A slightly improved but also slightly more rushed Inquisition sequel in a Mass Effect skin but with a nicer main mission. That's nobody's fault but Bioware's. They chose to use the NMS procedural crap and got burned. I like the UNCs in ME1 and I actually think some of those have procedurally generated geomitry (that they then locked in of course), so I wasn't wholly against the idea when I heard it - which, by the way, I did back in 2014 - but there is probably a very good reason why it got cut, and to be fair every BioWare game goes through a number of iterations before they hit the nail on the head (if they do) but it seems particularly DA:I and this game have had more major changes, right down to their vision. That could be a result of many things like EA meddling, lost talent to bad vision/direction. All I have to go on here is David Gaider who told VGS that Inquisition proabably has as much cut content as DA2 but it changed much more fundamentally of any other game he'd worked on. I think that's similar to Andromeda vs ME3. ME3 had a LOT of cut stuff too but the vision was always locked down. It's when the core foundation of the game is altered then you get a messy dev cycle and a potentially half-baked product like Andromeda. Despite all it's still pretty decent. I enjoyed driving the Nomad around Elaaden but yeah... I think it goes for every planet except maybe the asteroid rock that I wanted there to be a better planet-specific plotline than there was. Seeing the Krogan side of the Initiative was interesting but short-lived, as was every other planet-plot. I think this is something BioWare could double down on in the future if they stick to these open-world-hybrid games. Make each exploration area like a zone in KOTOR that the main plot is tied to, but flesh it out more. Then we'll forgive it if the main plot only has 4 missions.

Nope. The quest with the village and the cat school witcher who is betrayed was a DLC, there were some other DLC missions, including the monsters one where you get the gathering of monsters and convince them to not instigate a conflict with humans. Yes....I know this. Fact is the vast majority isn't what I would call amazing DLC! Yet everyone rode their dick as being the greatest game studio ever in the history of gaming. One could say every single piece of "free DLC" should have been included in the base game. There were 2 quests that were on par with ME:A Tasks, and 2 that would be on par with a world quest in ME:A. Let's also not forget they never thought people would want a NG+ and had to add it via "Free DLC". 16. Alternative Look For Triss Makes an otherwise cool character look like a hokey dork. 15. Nilfgaardian Armor Set Cool-looking armor, but it’s from Nilfgaard. Fuck Nilfgaard. 14. Elite Crossbow Set Not as good as the high-level Witcher crossbows. Probably useful if you don’t have those crossbows yet, though. Then again... they’re crossbows. Who even cares. 13. Ballad Heroes - Gwent Card Set I don’t care about Gwent. I know, I know, I should play. I barely have time to play Hearthstone, okay? Anyway, if I cared about Gwent, this would probably be higher. 12. Missing Miners A ho-hum monster contract that I’ve already forgotten about. 11. Skellige Armor Set The man-armor can’t match custom Witcher gear, but the horse-armor is top-notch. 10. Alternative Look For Yennefer Not horrible, but corny when compared with Yen’s basic outfit. The feathers are neat. 9. Temerian Armor Not particularly exciting on its own, but a solid set of armor for people starting a new game who don’t have Witcher gear yet. 8. Where The Cat And Wolf Play A decent enough quest, but the culminating showdown was an anti-climax, at least for me. 7. Alternative Look For Ciri The best of the “alternative look” options. Makes Ciri look somewhat more ready for battle than she did before. 6. New Finisher Animations More blood, more severed limbs, more fun for everyone. 5. Fool’s Gold Geralt has a serious conversation with a pig. That’s really all you need to know. 4. Beard and Hairstyle Set Look, it’s more beards and hairdos. So what if we all stick with a beard and the silver-fox longhair look? It’s nice to have options. 3. Wolf School Gear An in-depth treasure hunt that takes you to some really cool locations, including a tour of the hidden corners of Kaer Morhen. Cool armor, too. 2. New Game+ A sturdy new mode that makes the game harder in case you wanted to go through again and make different choices without reforging all your cool gear. 1. Skellige’s Most Wanted Easily the best of the new missions, and all the better because it actually ties in with some of the decisions you made in the rest of the game. Ummm Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine were excellent DLC, B&W was a better story than the whole of MEA. I believe it won game of the year and it was only an expansion.

Morda's voice is the biggest problem with Elaaden, how am I supposed to be intimidated or even wary of anything that sounds like that?

Morda's voice is the biggest problem with Elaaden, how am I supposed to be intimidated or even wary of anything that sounds like that? Hard to take a female Krogan too seriously as this "overlord" especially with that voice. All for equality in games but having a leader that was like Wrex or personality of Grunt would of been much better. The fight scene for Morda was painful to watch.

Yeah, I thought the Krogan storyline was a little short, and I agree with people about Morda's voice. The most entertaining thing was the fight scene which I couldn't stop laughing at.
I wasn't really a fan of Elaaden itself, it felt tacked on, like they needed another planet for you to go to. It was just a lot of open desert, which got boring after a while. I was already tired of the desert on Eos, and the snow on Voeld. It was just another example of a planet they could have done more with, that didn't really make my feel like I was in a new galaxy.
Havarl was my favorite planet, because it and Habitat 7 were the only ones that made me feel like I was in another galaxy. The plants and trees, the animals flying in the sky. It was also nighttime, so you had your suit lights on. It was raining.
I'm sure it probably had to do with the Nomad driving too fast to be able to render lush jungle or forests over an entire planet. But that doesn;t mean they couldn't have pockets of forests, jungles, marshes; or descents into subterranean caverns. Pockets of what the planets used to look like.
Elaaden was just more sand.

The problem with Morda is they should have made her voice deeper.
And they didn't for whatever reason.

So what part of the game will be looking at to accuse Bioware of rushing next? I say whenever the screen goes black when it transitions to a new scene, so lazy they could have easily put a wipe or dissolve into the next screnn but noooooooo they had to go to black, so lazy.
