I've been using the equalizer for a while and on gold with no boosters it tends to overheat before killing a single target.
Just got the scorpion, and while it still takes 3 shots to kill a single unshielded mook on gold, it seems to stagger enemies.
I took hydras head-on multiple times rarely getting hit. seems to me its a bit better for survivability. What do you think?

Talon is good.
Scorpion makes too much smoke so I don't use it for other player's sake.

Put extended mags on the equalizer so it won't overheat that much. Scorpion is not that good on gold since you'll run out of ammo quickly with it.

equalizer needs receiver X and ammo X to be gold viable, with both of those it is quite gold viable at short range
the scorpion is hot garbage unless you ammo it up
The talon is the only shotgun worth using beside the piranha

Unfortunately RNG hasn't granted me extended mags yet, or receiver or anything worthwhile.
Does it really use power cells? cause on my infiltrator i was getting the usual 4 sticky grenades and full ammo on the scorpion from ammo boxes

Like stated previously, it is excellent on lower difficulties, and decent on gold but goes through ammo quickly.
I wouldn't primary/single carry it on gold. However, since it's fairly light, it's an excellent secondary.
The intense smoke is pretty annoying though. Would be nice if they tuned it down a bit, or at least gave it some sort of purpose other than trolling teammate snipers..

I'd just hate to see people shun one of the handful of decent weapons because they think it's got a busted mechanic. Troll was plausible enough to snag some people given the poor balance and odd design choices plaguing many of the weapons. |

Scorpion is awesome up to Silver, and 'passable' on Gold, like has been stated. Don't even attempt to destroy boss enemies with it on Gold though...

The scorpion is a decent choice for melee builds since it (unlike shotguns and talon) can be used at long range. Damage is a bit rubbish even after buff so dont rely on it as your main source of damage.
