I thought their purpose was to prevent players from just staying in one spot, forcing players to constantly move out and get cornered so other outlaws can finish the job.
Now they only take 2 seconds to aim before shoot, and they can perfectly track and target you while you are in the air.
I think making sharpshooter main damage dealer among outlaw is a mistake.
I believe they deal about 400 damage per shot in gold difficulty.. which makes each shot quite punishing and unbearable for many kits.
All said, we can still handle them and they are still quite vulnerable close range. However, I still think they should take one or two seconds longer so we can at least dodge their attack while laser is visible.
Just wondering what others think.

I rather like them for being more of a threat than nemesis without being utter cancer.

I rather like them for being more of a threat than nemesis without being utter cancer. I kinda love and hate new sharpshooters. I think they had decent buff... but being able to perfectly track and shoot jumped character seems a little bit too much.. haha Just my humble opinion though. Jump/Dash speed & distance vary a lot between characters... so it might not be so bad for non-Krogans.
