Because Hurricane is love, Hurricane is life.  In ME3, I got it as one of my first weapons as it was a reward for the weekend ops (so everyone had a good chance of getting it). Now I need to grind to infinity to be able to get it. *sigh* |

I was very lucky, got a Hurricane out of one of the pre-order/digital deluxe boxes before I had even played my first MP match. I used it on my Soldier until i got a Revenant (ran a Hurc and Raptor) and still use it on most other classes even though its still at lvl 1.

Once I get it, I might go for a Hurricane/Equalizer combo. But till that time, I'll just play with Equalizer/Sweeper or Equalizer/Avenger or Equalizer/Rozerad or something like that. And no, I can't be bothered with snipers, I just put a scope on an Assault Rifle.

Im newb, so bear with my lack of understanding.. -I have Hurricane III and Piranha III now, and I still have no idea why people think these are good.. -Oh and I dont like my Equalizer X at all either.. But note that Ive only tried these a handful of times on random low lvl builds though. So,what do you like? Vnq. & Talon. Sorry to not be more original. (Falcon occasionally, for a change of pace.) I admit I never tried most of the weapons though. Its on my do-list. |

is a very good smg, but heavy, i use charger, not as accurate or same damage, but way lighter so powers recharge at 100% which is more important  Not getting the above? I get 100% recharge on Hurricane? |

There are 5 sniper rifles with < 1000 dps,
There are 4 not sniper rifles with > 1000 dps (hesh, pirahna, sidewinder, dhan)
The best assault rifle (thokin) has ~900 dps
The best gun by dps is the incisor, at 1700

Something is not right with Incisor,probably re-fire time or recoil,otherwise everyone would use it. It can only reliably score 1 headshot per burst, sometimes 2, and only 3 at point blank for most enemies. And landing bursts at max rate of fire is troublesome. so it struggles to achieve it's max dps, while the other sniper rifles are not far behind, but can reliably score headshots in rapid succession. The vanquisher may only have ~1200 dps by comparison (roughly 4th), but it can easily snap of headshots at max rof for over 2400 dps (more with headshot bonuses). It also has better ammo efficiency, can engage farther enemies easier, and is generally convenient. The biggest advantage of the incisor is that it can shoot through walls normally with the mod, while the vanquisher can't. Single shot snipers (widow, and Isharay) with a reload bonus can outpace even the incisor. But have the drawbacks of being one shot, and can't get normal rof bonuses. |

I want to like the Hurricane, but it feels like it's barely an upgrade over Charger/Equalizer, at least at rank 1. Especially when armored enemies are being spammed.

The first two are meaningless and completely misleading, only the last one is useful in any real way, and it's the one we should almost always use. I assume you've been looking at the "Quick and Dirty Gun DPS" chart. Don't. Not only does it not even try to calculate sustained DPS, but it gets even clip DPS wrong, in multiple ways. Quick and dirty indeed. Just as an example, what do you think Widow's "clip DPS" of 1309 means? It's a single-shot weapon, by definition it shouldn't even have clip DPS. 1309 happens to be its damage per shot, but it certainly can't shoot once per second. It's real, sustained DPS is somewhere around ~300. Similarly Incisor's sustained DPS is only a small fraction of what the chart shows. |

I grossly underestimated how long reload times are, fair enough. It is still applicable that many of the sniper rifles are massively better than almost every other weapon of every other class. |
