It's any kill. Even enemies that die by being shot by a friend across the map. As long as the enemy dies in your field you and all your friends in your field get 30% shields restored. Picking Vortex tells me you don't know what you are doing. I'm not trying to be mean, I've had wrong ideas about things, but you are essentially ruining a character. Choosing Vortex tells me you are not using a shield fueled lance build which also tells me you are carrying light weapons. Your potential DPS and team support are neutered by this one choice. You turn a guaranteed 25,000 point character into a circus trick. It's honestly one of the worst choices in the game from an optimization standpoint. Now if you chooses it because the float effect amuses you as run run around, then fill your heart with glee. Even on gold as long as you stay within a thousand points of second place. Just don't expect high level players to want you in their gold lobbies. Generally I'm never second if I can stay connected and awake and generally I have no issues topping 25k. I'll try lance with the shield restore and see but I'm honestly pretty happy with my current build. Hey, I am curious to know how you find the shield fueled lance build when you try it.

I run around a lot and don't camp I'm just wondering if the shield restore is what people use that camp mostly. We've mostly been running sub 14 min clearance times I just don't want to have to be less aggressive. I guess there's nothing to do but try it though.

I've tried them both, first Vortex than Draining Field. I think I'm going back to Vortex. I seem to be fighting off 16-18 "dogs" per match. I can't stop behind cover or to take aim at a distant target for more than a few seconds without being grappled. Vortex completely removes that, it makes playing much more enjoyable for me, and that's worth it.

I thought a lot about this too... and I decided to go draining field.. because I concluded I prefer 50% shield recharge per melee kill. It does help teammates a lot even the weakest team.. especially if you are farming and doing certain objective in PuG. I am not worried too much about dogs as Asari adept, but Vortex felt pretty attractive against dealing with chosen, raider and other mooks.. But to be honest, these mooks can be killed fairly easily and every time I kill them I don`t wanna miss out on that 30% shield recharge. P.S. I am more curious about whether people went 20% damage debuff or 30% explosion damage/radius bonus on Asari adept. Right now I am doing 20% damage debuff.. but I am not sure what this effect exactly does. Debuff enemy defense? or increase 20% damage by all sources? Debuff over combo damage currently and it's not close. Possibly combo damage could become viable after the next balance change. Hahahahahaha, "could become viable after the next balance change". That's gold. Might as well throw the halberd and mattock in there and you've got yourself a party! Haha.

I use shield restore-lance build with Talon... running around mostly. Scoring around 20k per run on gold. I rly like that build, fun to play..

I've been running vortex and I can say it makes soloing objectives really easy. I've done like 11-12 min gold run like that with some other BSNers.

Anahilation evo lvl 5 clearly says enemies take 20% more damage from all source
but passive evo lvl 5 only says Enemy defense debuff 20% / Enemies take more damage from all sources.
...I am really starting to think... that defense debuff might just mean enemy armor decrease. Need thorough testing this one...

Played some games with the vortex field earlier after initially running draining field while leveling her to 20. Seemed really good actually, got some really fast runs done and making doges float when they tried to grab you was really nice, also if a raider or chosen ambushes you or something you can just dash up to them and make them float to prevent the damage. Very useful.

Both are really good. Both can be problematic at times as well. I'm gonna play with the lance build some more but I don't feel that much difference in TTK. Float makes things easier for sure.
