Just started a new game and it occurred to me....what happened to Fisher and Greer? Weren't they part of the Pathfider team? After the intro, they are never heard from again....did the Kett get them???

They retired into the general colonist population. You can meet them briefly in the cryo/med bay on the Hyperion but only before you go to Eos.

If you look for Greer and manage to find him before leaving with Cora in search of your dad, you'll find him being attacked by the Kett and you can rescue him. (after which he hangs out at the Med Bay)
If you don't look for him, you'll see him on an operating table at the Kett base at the end of the mission.
Could be wrong, but I think Fisher is either the first team mate you encounter that is wounded, or they are the team mate that the Kett shoot after he tries to surrender.

Yeah, I saved them both in the intro, just wondering, if they were part of the team, like Liam and Cora, why arent they on Tempest as part of the Pathfinder team?

After the opening mission you can find them in cryobay/medbay. I think they "retire" from active duty like Dr. Carlyle

Greer is definitely the optional sidequest one that you can save.
I just double checked on a video playthrough. Fisher is the first person you encounter after Liam, he has a broken leg.
Kirkland is the one that is shot on sight.
The doctor is seen after meeting up with Cora carrying the other woman on the team.

I believe it's Greer who was good friends with Kirkland. After the mission, Greer says that he is retiring from the team...Kirkland being killed upset him a lot and he's not cut out for fighting.

If you listen to the nurse/doctor talking to Fisher it turns out his leg wasn't even broken. What a little girl.
Daddy Ryder sure knew how to handpick his team of professionals.
There's also that woman that got shot. I guess I can forgive her for quitting. But the rest? Bunch of pansies.

A bone bruise, especially through all those layers of heavy muscle, would be excruciating. I don't fault him for being sidelined, much like Hayes was by her wound. It was interesting how Greer realized he couldn't handle it. If a guy says that, you gotta let him quit. It would be cruel and dangerous to push him to stay. Really, did we think any of these people were going to make it aboard Tempest? I was just happy that I was able to save everyone but poor Kirkland. I wondered if I'd been too slow to kill his killers, attacking as a Level-1 Scrub on Insanity. When Ryder picked up his Avenger, though, I knew the deal. Kirkland was going to die everytime, just like Jenkins. There's one in all of the classic BioWare games.

I do have to say, considering how important the Pathfinder teams are they sure seemed to be a bunch of wana bes. Even Ryder Jr has little experience and is a wimp. They also don't seem to have trained together as when you first meet them in the locker room before the mission they don't even hardly know each other.
Being that Daddy is an N7 top notch military guy he sure seems AWFULLY laxed in his teams training and preparation. Heck I have known National Guard units with better training and cohesion.

The real reason he "chose" those people is because they were the only ones he could find that were crazy enough to join the Pathfinder team. He just used the dreamer speech to make them feel more important so they'd stick around
