MEA: Yay or Nah

Excellent!

It's a deeply flawed game but has it's strengths, but the same is true for the other 3 games. TBH they all have some flaws or moments that i think are flat out bad but at the end of the day, there are no games i enjoy more, ME:A included. The mix of cinematic RPG and space shooter really hits a spot for me, so Yay.

And if i'd recommend it, depends on the person. It pretty much boils down to what they think of side content and what stories they like/how important good writing is to them. That's really what's so polarizing about the game.

It's better but still needs improvement. I would recommend it to a friend though since I've been happily playing it for about 180 hours.

Maybe much later when a lot of patches, GOOD patches (but I doubt they will come, there were very good suggestions for ME2/ME3, especialy multiplayer, and it did never happen), were implemented and we got some good DLCs. Right now I keep asking myself: what were they developing for 5 years? And I am not talking about face expressions and animations, the whole gameplay is infested with bugs and half backed ideas.
Why do we have an inventory? We cant switch weapons/armor on the fly like in ME, heck we cant even switch it for our squadmates, a weapon locker a la ME2/3 would be enough here. All I do all the time is to decustruct everything, the inv is there to limit us. Not more, not less. I gues they gave us inv back, but half way through had no idea what to do with it.
What is it about exploration? Why are "SAM blocks" tied to fiew nav points and not to "percentage of maps explored" ???
What is it about galaxy (eh cluster) exploration? The planet descriptins are lackluster, not comparable to ME1/2/3 and on top of that, no meaning. There is this cryo pod (perk) where you get minerals every 45minutes... so how about the number of minerals and variety is based on the planets "explored"? Or there is this perk that gives milky way research points... well there are, according to planet descriptions, remnant and kett facilities on other planets, so how about we get research points for all 3 categories, the number based on planets explored, while milky based on andromeda initiative outpots?
And thats just the tip of the iceberg. As said, no idea what they developed in 5 years. Except for some new lore for Andromeda and adapted ME milky way lore to fit Andromeda, MEA plays just like ME.

I'd give the game a middle finger if I could. I was semi-enjoying/forcing myself through the mediocre slog that is this game when 1.05 completely destroyed my game on PC and it no longer works at all.

I am being very generous with "maybe future patches" option as perhaps the game will at least work (on a currently high-end PC that previously had no issues whatsoever)>

Aside from them just completely breaking the game for me, the writing is pretty meh. The characters are dull. We all know what the animations are like.

Yay for the fan; if you are new to the series, nay.

No, but not because I don't like the game, but because hardly any of my friends are gamers, and the ones that are like very different games than I do.

"Meh" but on the "yay" side of it. I missed it a bit when I'd finished, but not enough to launch straight into another playthrough. Felt too much like an MMO a lot of the time.
