Where's my option for "ME:A is a damn good game already, DLC would definitely make it better, though?"
I don't think Andromeda needs to be "redeemed." Yes, there are issues, but by and large, I've very much enjoyed my time with this game. I personally view it as my favorite Bioware game to date. Are there things that could do with some work? Absolutely. Tighten up some stuff for a sequel. But overall, ME:A is a very good game in my opinion, albeit with some flaws. A few of them fairly glaring, but not enough to dampen my enjoyment.

I am sure that someone who did not enjoy the game can certainly enjoy a DLC. I was not that hot on Origins, but Awakening had been very fun. So, maybe you will like the DLC. Just make sure to read what it is about, because you know that the main game is not your thing.
I like the game very much, but I am still going to look at the DLC reviews, because most of the DLCs that came with my Bio games I was not interested in. Some expansions in the past transformed my experience with game from overall positive to meh or negative.

Depends. I hated DA:2, I played the Legacy DLC, which was a good DLC, but and I was still done with the game, never started another playthrough. I just thought ME:3 was 'meh' after my first playthrough. But after the extended cut, Leviathan, the Citadel, Omega, I did more playthroughs of the game.
So it depends. But it depends just as much on patches as it does DLC. Honestly, they need to fix what they have out now before they start worrying about DLC.

Brilliant add-ons always extend the life of these games for me (ME3 with all DLC's is fantastic imo), but in the case of Andromeda, there's a lot of ironing out of serious issues that need to be addressed. As one who really loves this game, I would like to see some things corrected before I can focus on add-ons, like fixing NG+ issues, consistently repeatable bugs that can ruin scenes (Ghost Ryder movie night) etc.. When BioWare pulls out at least the worst of this game's technical kinks, then I'll be properly content to look forward to extended content.

it doesnt need redemption. its already a solid game.
sure, its not "the greatest game ever" but that doesnt mean it needs redeemed.
its a really good game with a solid foundation that DLC can build upon

The thing is when someone dislikes a game that first impression sticks regardless of future content to said game. Dlc doesn't just fix the rest of the game, it just means you have to pay then play your way to the better content which I wouldn't recommend. Don't force yourself to play something you dislike.
Personally I like the game, and I'd like to assume the dlc will add more to the andromeda experience as well as finish/anwser questions that the game left.

Most of the problems are actual bugs or lack of polish. So it'd be more of a patch than a DLC. So....maybe?

Flawed, though I don't really dislike it. Andromeda is alright, mostly. Just to get that out of the way.
Using DA:I as an example, DLC which gets me excited would have to be "Trespasser" quality or higher. Not super interested in another huge planet with lots of busywork (Jaws of Hakkon), but... yeah. I think that will be a thing.

Personally I like the game, and I'd like to assume the dlc will add more to the andromeda experience as well as finish/anwser questions that the game left. Bioware and ME3 say hello. While there are a lot of people still staunchly in opposition to ME3's ending, a wide array of people went from hating the ending to actually liking it and feeling it was redeemed with the release of the Extended Cut DLC making them want to play the entire game again after refusing to do so. I am one of those people. I hated ME3's ending but the EC won me over and redeemed the game. Arguably it didn't even have to do that because I had already thought the entire game was tremendous until the last five or ten minutes which basically ruined my experience. Anyway, I agree, I like this game as it is, but the OP doesn't give us an option for that. They've just assumed that because they hate the game, everyone hates the game. I'm having so much fun playing and exploring it, so my answer is DLC will enhance my already great experience and make me love the game more.

Ok, you want thoughts... I don't think of Andromeda as a game that needs redemption. I believe your question suggests it is a bad game. Well, every new BW game is so damn bad... nothing new... I actually would have been surprised if there wouldn't be any complains. And if that evers happens for a BW game then it would be the first game I wouldn't want to play... So no, I don't think it is bad. It needs patches to fix the bugs and issues and that ASAP. Other than that I enjoy playing it and I'm looking forward to interesting DLCs that adds to the story - after bugfixing is done.

I've been bitten by nearly every bug possible in this game, so I can't say it's a good game until/unless the worst ones are fixed.

Paid DLC? No way. It only works for people who already liked the base game enough to consider spending more cash. Things like Legacy, or Citadel, or Trespasser are relegated to "GOTY pack with a discount" buy in most other cases.

It depends what your issues with the game were.
If they're all technical or bug-related then all it needs is patching. If you didn't like the dangling plot ends or character developments, then yeah DLC can improve on those. For me it was a combination of those things, plus a sense that the whole thing was tedious in parts (but if I were to replay I'd skip most of the side content, so there's already a fix for that), so my personal answer is maybe.

Can only be redeemed if they fire the entire writing staff and hire actual writers, and not fan fiction writers

Why do we need a DLC to redeem a decent game? I've enjoyed MEA so far a lot and only had a handful of bugs. I'm looking forward to any DLC, but I don't need one to "redeem" a product I'm 90% satisfied with.

Ok, you want thoughts... I don't think of Andromeda as a game that needs redemption. I believe your question suggests it is a bad game and I don't think it is. It needs patches to fix the bugs and issues and that ASAP. Other than that I enjoy playing it and I'm looking forward to interesting DLCs that adds to the story - after bugfixing is done. You think the writing is good? Sorry for the late answer, was AFK. Also sorry for editing my original post after you quoted it, wasn't aware of it. And a word of warning, I'm no native english speaker... Do I think the writing is good? That's a good question. Compared to (for example) Goethes "Faust" or Schillers "Die Räuber", Brechts "Mutter Courage" or Homers "Illias" or "Odysee" it certainly is less than average. Do I feel entertained? Yes. Do I like it? Yes. And that "although" I think of me as a big fan of my Shepard. It's just that I never expected something "Shepard-like". And I never thought of the OT as masterpiece of storytelling and logic, and certainly not without any flaws that made me cringe. I simply liked my Shepard and her adventures, she had grown to me, although I sometimes wished she wouldn't have been this "unstopable fighting machine and badass soldier" and would be a bit more like - yeah, Ryder for example. Maybe I wasn't expecting anything after my personal ME3 ending disaster. Maybe I was not hyped because I never found a connection to DAI and my Inqusitor. But I loved my sarcastic Hawke so much and I guess I can see a bit of her in Ryder. And I certainly wasn't quite happy when I learned that my new prodagonist would be a 22 years old "baby". So maybe this all is what made me "oh, what a surprise - I like it". I like my Ryder who isn't over-serious about everything because I also tent to give even the worst things that happens in my life a ironic or silly laugh. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't want some more or less "renegade" options here and there because I also tent to tell people to fuck off if they annoy too much. But I also can imagine that my "kid" has her problems how to handle people like Addison or Thane . Or how to handle some "serious" stuff (maybe because I've seen "kids" acting like that...). To me it is more believable for such a "baby" to react like that. She's no "supercool Shepard". To me it's a refreshing new start into another galaxy with a new and different main char. New and different companions. I also want to see her "growing up" and "getting more experienced" as a Pathfinder. And I certainly never wanted another Shepard. Her story has come to an end, my Shepard is dead. RIP.
