I thought Suvi's faith was handled quite poorly. The first dialogue where she mentions it is hilariously bad.

First Suvi comes up with this really unnaturally sounding and clumsy line:

Yes, I believe in a higher power. I know it’s a little odd. But I’m a scientist because science brings me closer to something greater than myself.

and then Ryder's options for replying are even worse:

“I feel the same way.” or “There’s no higher power.”

There is no option to be an agnostic/atheist without being a jerk to her or lying.

I think the gaming industry could greatly benefit from an RPG not made from western perspectives and predominantly thrown away Roman Catholicism but from the eastern Greek/Russian Orthodoxy.

But then again "dualism" would suffer + no gay romances. Must be the reason nobody in the west cries foul when they get snuffed by the bucketload.

By the way, what is western scientism these days, more dogma than anything else. Heaps of arithmetic assumptions on top of arithmetic assumptions of fools we are encouraged to worship. If it sounds and feels good go for it as long as it doesn't produce anything tangible? Profit before science = western credo.

Suvi's faith was very well done. I think Bioware handled a lot of difficult things well in this game, esp since they altered Hainly's dialogue. It feels entirely natural that Suvi would talk about her belief in a higher power when faced with incredible things, and that Hainly would be open about her past in the Milky Way when you ask her why she came to Andromeda after taking her fiance out of cryo.

The existence of openly religious or LGBTQ characters isn't some conspiracy against anyone, it's simply realism. There are plenty of games which don't have any diversity if anyone finds it a triggering presence.

The other problem is when they did make their statement it seemed to make everything worse for it just put a spotlight on the issue and drew more attention then before.

Wow, I don't think I've seen a post I disagree with so much in a while, but if that's your view, then your mileage clearly varies.
Personally, I think BioWare should carry on doing what they are doing, telling interesting stories with a diverse cast.

1. Suvi is most annoying character in the game for me. Mostly because I accidentally agreed with her and had to listen to all that non sense. But it felt so "American religous" so whatever. I'm used to think Americans are weird. In Europe you won't find all those deluded christians on every corner.

2. SJW is a label, stereotype. And that what people mean when they say it's SJW agenda in this game. And that's 100% truth. Those who share views won't feel it, because they agree and that is natural. But for me game looks simply silly. Trying to make males look weak all the time. Good luck with that. Lol.

3. So don't pretend it's about not letting others having fun. It's about bullying majority for the fun of minority. And yeah that is SJW agenda.

As someone who frequenly watches videos from the skeptic community, I find this whole notion of Bioware pandering to SJW's absolutely ridiculous. It's not "pandering" or "hamfisted" to include some LGBT folks in their games for christ's sake. Bioware has always been inclusive in that way and I don't see anything wrong with it. Now, if they start in with talking about 500 genders, then I'll raise my eyebrow.

I also don't think there was any agenda to purposely make women ugly or anything. It's nonsense. People like to think that Anita Sarkeesian actually has sway with game developers and I find it laughable. I don't think any game developers give a shit about her inane claptrap.

I just have to say these Anti-SJW "Gays ruin Bioware" people need to get real. Bioware has always included gay/lesbian romances and lbgt characters.

Maybe go play any other game on the market if you aren't even comfortable enough to play a game with an all female race? But seriously, I think Bioware has demonstrated enough that different sexualities, races, religion and such elements are things that can be expected in their games. As far as I know, it's been like that since Jade Empire and probably even further back than that. I rather like that about Bioware: I was very fond of their attempt to explore something like belief in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
