I also don't think there was any agenda to purposely make women ugly or anything. It's nonsense. People like to think that Anita Sarkeesian actually has sway with game developers and I find it laughable. I don't think any game developers give a shit about her inane claptrap. Meh, that is one thing I kinda raise my eyebrow at. I don't think it is an accident the male presets came out looking so good and the female presets came out looking, well, the way they look by accident. I've always liked BW for their inclusiveness for obvious reasons but anything can be taken too far. That said, so much stupid in this thread on both sides. It is exactly times like this that I feel like... ...because humanity is obviously a lost cause. I... think the male presets are mostly awful, to be honest. Both male and female presets leave much to be desired. The only one that turned out great is default Scott. For females, I think preset 5 is the best but most of the other presets are kind of meh.

I wholeheartedly agree. Among all the political attempts, Suvi's stood out has refreshingly non-judgmental. The narrative doesn't try agreeing with either side, which makes it feel like a genuine discussion between two opposing beliefs if you do choose to disagree with her. Whoever wrote that section knows how to handle good debates. One person's 'SJW' is another person's 'not being an ass to other people'... MEA played out pretty well in my view. lets see...off the top of my head...
Gil Gay Taurian pathfinders Several Gay relationship sets of datapad entries Hainly Asari (we aren't going to waste our time pretending they aren't a lesbian surrogate)
If you pay attention I'm pretty sure there are more gay romances mentioned in this game than straight ones. Of course I know you clowns will shove your fingers in your ears and scream homophobe at any one pointing it out.
etc etc
You guys can lie and claim they aren't pushing an agenda all you want, but it doesn't make you not full of shit.
It really is a shame you all infest every Bioware game related forum Sadly, unlike Suvi's dialogue, you still need to learn how to have a discussion. Jumping to insults only makes you look as intolerant as the sjws you hate so much.

True white? What in the seven hells is that? The default characters are white, there are white presets to customise. Come to think of it, what's a 'pro male character'? If you seriously can't find any male characters that aren't 'pussies' then that arguably says more about your conception of masculinity than it does anything else I think. Then again, that argument about the DPS rates of melee weapons is super compelling. Just in case you haven't seen in ME3 you could make really pale skin. That's gone. Sorry I'm just ignoring that you pretended not understanding what I meant. Conception of masculinity - yeah the traditional one. Responsible, brave, rational. Not some whimp Bioware would like to see. I mean not Salarian. Coincidence- promise The default Scott Ryder is white as fuck man, what are you talking about? Also one of the male presets is so godawfully white and blonde that Hitler would wet his pants if he saw him. Seriously, what are you talking about? There's countless examples of men like that in the game. Bradley shines in that role, but he isn't white. Is that your problem, maybe?

I don't want to look like schoolboy. Bad enough he talks like one. I don't really remember all second plan characters. Plus I'm not even half way the game. So excuse me if there are some hidden gems you can talk once per game. But I don't count them. Who's in Tempest those are the most important anyway. Race is not my thing. Trust me. I'm not even super white. Being rational is my thing. And that is another big thing I just realised: If I pick rational answer in game it's always more like agreeing not actually correcting. Which makes no sense. Silly game

Not some whimp Bioware would like to see. I mean not Salarian. Coincidence- promise So by 'true white' you mean really pale white skin. Ok, well, that's true. That's a pretty odd way to phrase it, are the white options available fake white? Sometimes I like to play as a ghostly pale character so I understand that frustration but character creators have limits. It would be quite a reach to suggest that white people weren't being properly represented though. As for male characters that possess the characteristics you're looking for, what was wrong with Alec, or Drack, Jaal, Efvra, Bradley and Reyes? They all fit the rather traditional male role as far as I can see. That's just off the top of my head.

So let me get this straight: you bitch about a certain archetype you claim isn't in the game at all, everybody is a sissy. Yet you didn't pay any attention to any 'second plan characters'. Right. Another great strike of brilliance right there. Race isn't your thing? Yet you complain about not being to able to make a white character? Ok then. You're just too smart for me. Enjoy your monumental victory in debate.

Huh...I didn't even know this was a thing. I work with scientists, and I would say about 50% of them are religious. I don't know if that percentage is lower than the rest of the population, or what, but in my experience it is a very common thing for folks to have both science and faith. And these are geologists and biologists, mind you. So, I liked Suvi. She seemed normal to me! You're not allowed to normalize or humanize things I am told I am not allowed to like or agree with! You can't just go in here bringing real life experience and observations!

Alec is dead. Drack is more old than male. Jaal feels like he never want to talk and represts himself as different to Milky Way, but hes probably closest, just simply annoying. Bradley again. Had to google to see who he is. Is he big in a game? Reyes? Malibu Ken? Spends 2 hours in front of mirror everyday Reyes?

As a thought experiment, why don't we take your number of 5% of the population being gay (although one would expect the number to be higher in the future as society becomes more tolerant and people become more willing to identify themselves) and apply it to the Ark population of 20,000. That would be 1000 gay people per Ark. I'd say there are substantially fewer gay people in the game than 1000. I'd also wager that there are more straight people or unconfirmed people than there are gay people in the game. So what is the problem? With regards to the female Krogan, they don't appear to be represented in a manner much greater than 50% when you total all the Krogan in the game. In positions of power, sure, but it's part of the lore since ME3, maybe 2, that the female Krogan are less warlike and more inclined to rationality than the males so it doesn't seem particularly lore breaking that they would find themselves empowered in the context of working with Nexus leadership.

So Gil, Suvi, Reyes, Vetra, Peebee, a Pathfinder & some random NPCs are 50% of the people in Andromeda? And Wrex says in ME2 that Krogan women can hold their own against Krogan men, making them just as prone to violence as any male Krogan. I wouldn't use the same stereotypes you use for human women for Krogan women. Also - you think women were overrepresented in MEA - wow. Guess what the say is true when you're used to having most of the representation any step towards equalising it feels like you are loosing something.

As for: Yet you complain about not being to able to make a white character? Yeah, that's pretty much my main complaint. If they give us a few white skin colors in the CC I'd probably leave the forum entirely and spend time actually playing the game instead.

Originally just meant that Krogans Vorchas and Geths are gone, but seems people come with stereotypical fears and labels. And then not sure part comes because people can't decide which label to put on me. Once they will decide will call me stupid and will ignore. Typical ignorance.

I thought Suvi's faith was handled quite poorly. The first dialogue where she mentions it is hilariously bad. First Suvi comes up with this really unnaturally sounding and clumsy line: and then Ryder's options for replying are even worse:
“I feel the same way.” or “There’s no higher power.”
There is no option to be an agnostic/atheist without being a jerk to her or lying.Yeah, I thought Ryder's response of, "No such thing as a higher power" came off a bit rude, tbt. My issue with the two choices for response is that they're two black'n'white viewpoints on this subject, either you're spiritual (and therefore theist) or your nonspiritual (atheist). However, I'm not going to get all up in Bioware's craw over this. Their writing has never been the epitome of critical thinking and serious philosophical debating; I only expect a few choices and views on a subject, and those views will most definitely be what's already "common knowledge" on said issues instead of bringing in unique third or fourth perspectives. And, as to Suvi bringing her views up so heavily in dialogue... it is a Bioware game. As Yahtzee Croshaw keeps critiquing about their games, "People regurgitate their life's story at the slightest invitation." I love Bioware's games, but they are really bad about doing this (That's why Sloane's turian right-hand was so hilarious and refreshing when Ryder asked him what his story was and, after giving a fluffy tall tale, pointed out how preposterous it was for Ryder to assume he'd tell a stranger anything at all ). How Suvi expresses her views, knowing that's it's going to happen in a modern Bioware game, I thought was very well done and beautiful.

I... think the male presets are mostly awful, to be honest. Both male and female presets leave much to be desired. The only one that turned out great is default Scott. For females, I think preset 5 is the best but most of the other presets are kind of meh. I don't play the male presets so I can only judge based on what I see here on the forums for the most part. So granted, they may not look as good in game. Well, I won't deny that some very talented folks have managed to make some good-looking male Ryders so I know it's not impossible. It's just not easy to do. I guess my biggest gripe is that their skin doesn't look young enough to pass as 22 in game.

The most laughable part of this post, and trust me, there's a lot in there, is that you think that it takes 2 hours to look like Reyes. I mean, for him it might. ):
