The technology and environment are too contemporary for SW...

I suppose it's possible, but I would be very surprised to see a SW game with such a modern-day Earth artstyle.

To my eye, it's more in keeping with the style we've seen in the Secret IP's E3 video (run-down, modern day/near future setting). And it looks like possible wasteland/desert-like conditions beyond this greenspace...

I think it's just that MEA has most people's attention right now and this thread is usually so quiet, it doesn't get a lot of traffic.

Funnily enough, we've had more DA4 teases than Secret IP ones, even though DA4's coming out later...

I'm pretty excited about the new IP, but it's hard to be excited for this picture without confirmation that it IS from it. It could be some scene from Andromeda, for all we know.

However, I do think it is from the new IP, because it looks like a steam boiler room, like in this image:



Seems too ancient tech for Mass Effect and Star Wars, and too advanced for Dragon Age. That's why I'm thinking steampunk or modern (which can fit fantasy modern like Final Fantasy XV, or post-apocalypse). So I'm a believer.

But I also believe in Bethesda's Starfield and Fallout New Orleans (which is a long shot of happening), so...

I assume if it's post-apocalyptic, there'd be a pretty significant twist to distinguish itself from Fallout. And the Dune-ish comment is interesting because one of the earliest teases was the tweet about "Space Nuns", which naturally made everyone think of Dune.

So... post-alien invasion maybe?

That's an interesting possibility, though it makes me wonder about the 'contemporary' comments.

Shouldn't have brought it up. I'm only at 10 percent of Dune and don't think I'll finish it any time soon. Now I can't enter this thread anymore because of possible Dune spoilers !

EDIT: If you Google Bioware and Dune, there's speculation about it going back to 2008. Would it count as an IP?

This Secret IP game is a brand new IP. So at best, it would only take inspiration from Dune.

However... it's an interesting link you posted. Despite it being a troll post (you can only play as... sandworms? ), BioWare is working on a 2nd Secret IP game, which we know nothing about other than they were hiring someone with MMO experience.
