I'm growing teeth. Yeah, you read that right. And not wisdom teeth either, oh no. Wisdom teeth are molars, but mine are either incisors or premolars. I'm a man of science, so I know perfectly what this means: I'm finally getting fangs and becoming a vampire. And I totally accept my fate as an eternal creature of the night. Seriously though, I'm worried, because growing teeth at my age is no joke; new teeth can really mess things up in your jaw. And I'm of course hoping that they are not a sign of something much worse than future dental surgery.
Did you already swap them once and are they your third?
Dental issues are pretty much my biggest horror

When looking back at my situation, it struck me that one person was instrumental to my survival. There was a radiologist, who discovered the tumor. So, I went to his office and left a gift card there to thank him. His initial diagnoses was the ball that got things rolling. That guy is awesome.

I have (had) a normal set of 32 teeth, these new ones are extra, ie. supernumerary. It's a rare condition, but not super rare. Let me tell you, eye issues are worse.

I had a great training day! I did upper body today and, among other exercises, did a couple sets 140kg/309lbs bench presses. 140 kilos is not much but what I really liked was how absolutely easy that weight moved. One fluid motion with a small pause on my chest, absolutely no hint of a sticking point, I felt like I was pressing half that weight and I did not have to fight even in my last rep. Also my triceps workouts were so easy I'm going to add weight next time. I don't want to boast but I have a lot of upper body strength right now, and it feels really good. And it feels good to reach new goals too.

I'm having a bad day. I had some work come back to me, which is upsetting. I went to a funeral for someone I barely knew, had a dizziness spell and then was condescended to by an attorney I've known for thirty years. If I could live the rest of my life without ever seeing again, that would be lovely.

Well, I am considering applying for refugee status after today's big news, and wondering where in the world I can go and how soon.
I've seen this writing on the wall, but I live in proto-Gilead now so selling my home and moving at least cross-country (north) is kind of a critical thing that needs to be acted on. My wife is keeping it together, thankfully she works from home now. I'm trying to put a smile on at work.
I feel very much like Adam Jensen today, except my augs are half-spun repairs not anything useful, and my eyes aren't augmented yet they still see too much. I never asked for this.
Fuck.

Played a round of golf today with a good buddy of mine, my go-to playing partner. 3-putted four greens today, which is a first in the ten rounds I've played since mid May. But I was getting insane distance off my Irons and my Fairway Woods from the tees were lucky shots...taking the ball right off the toe, but I managed to turn my hands through impact and put a beautiful draw on it. And a 5-Wood off the toe still did 245 even on an off-center toe hit. My off-center 3-Wood hits did 260 from the tee, so I really controlled my hands through impact enough to make something good. Otherwise all those shots would have been UGLY.
Normally...when I am hitting my 3-Wood flush and pure, I can easily hit 275 to 285; a solid strike with my 5-Wood typically does 260-265.
And today with my 5 thru 7 Irons, I was getting distances of 210, 185 and 175 respectively so I was happy with my Iron play. Not the longest I've ever hit those Irons....But nothing to sneeze at either.

Am enjoying the heat sofar. Trying to hydrate sufficiently.
In Hearts of Iron, my democratic Germany is in 1947, has annexed Czechoslovakia and allied Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Luxemburg and has created an oasis of peace and prosperity in parts of Europe. The rest of the world is at crazy war with each other for no good reason.
Fascist Britain rules the most (yes, fascist, I remove Hitler and naturally Britain immediately goes fascist, do you see HoI's logic here?). I plan to launch a coup attempt soon, but I probably need more infantry weapons.

Being spoken down to is not a pleasant experience no matter who does it to you, and things such as funerals are always a sad and unfortunate life event. I can relate to the dizzines...and I'm empathize with you. It's horrible, dabilitating even. I hope you are better now or will be very soon. I hope things start to look up for you.

The operation was successful, but it went from 4 hours to 6 hours. I instead of a robot assisted operation, it was normal one, because of the size of the tumor.
However, so far so good. No spread.
What is more important, I am allowed to eat anything. No diet. 😂

There is a young woman working in the post office, I have known her for 5 years now and I see her every week when I bring a couple letters and parcels from work. Shes always a combination of super mad & sad, she is super unfriendly to customers, shes always wearing an angry facial expression and every tiny little hiccup with computer etc. sends her on the absolute brink of a rage fit - its almost comical. Today I saw her again and I was *SO* close to asking her what has been troubling her for so long, but then I pulled back because I reminded myself that its really none of my business and that it would be super rude to ask. She is very attractive and seems healthy so I wonder what could ruin her day...every day - for years. I just hope she can work it out eventually, its not fun to see people suffer every day for so long and you cant help or do anything. I remember there was only one single time I saw her in a good mood, I needed some assistance with some registration process that could be done via personal identification in the post office and she was surprisingly helpful, she smiled and she seemed totally fine. Not sure what was different that day. As for the rest of my day, I just got home from work early and did more weight lifting. A couple days ago I did 140kg bench presses very easily so I upped the weight to 143.5 kilos and turns out I can rep this weight just as easily. I'm getting stronger super quick lately and it feels great. Must be the magical effects of sweet hot summer weather! Next week a couple sets of 145 kilos. (hopefully!) However, so far so good. No spread. What is more important, I am allowed to eat anything. No diet. 😂 Those are great news!

Yesterday, I had planned to do 4-5 things. Hopefully before lunch. I got one thing done. It took 9 hours and I really had to grit it together towards the end. But I'm super pleased it's done.
Today I struggled from feeling lethargic, so I hydrated and went for a long walk. And what a superwalk it was. Already after half an hour I was feeling really good again. Passed some volleyball courts with absolute babes - athletic, not busty - in high rise thongs. One blue, one red, one cream, one black. I came to strongly suspect that their technique of picking up the ball from the ground, had the exact same motivation as their choice of swimsuit. Bless them. Passed some flowering bushes that spread this powerful scent of aromatic apple around. All the golfers missed me. I couldn't even hear a ball smacking into something close a single time. The Indian Cricket team wasn't there today, so it was like rather me missing them. Just a great hot day. Got home after 2½ hour, so maybe slightly more than 6 miles? Hydrated some more.
Now what?

BIG thumbs up, walking is pure therapy, I walk between 25 to 35 kilometers / week, depending on the weather. I do a lot of sports almost every day, from weight lifting to cycling etc. and I still consider just ordinary walking one of the most effective and potent ways to stay healthy in body AND mind. Regular walking does wonders to prevent back issues, to keep the joints and cardio vascular system healthy and to simply clean the mind of the trash and troubles that accumulate there over time. I know no other exercise that does this much good, no kidding. In my opinion, if you can do only ONE exercise and nothing else (for whatever reason), walk. And do it regularly, every day for at least 30 minutes, ideally 60 minutes. Its more important than blasting heavy weights or doing high intensity cycling / running.

Our kitchen is slowly getting emptied. The contractor is supposed to start the remodel next week, so everything needs to be moved out and after thirty + years, that's a lot of stuff. But it should be worth it to have the floor repaired and resurfaced and new just about everything.

I learned a ton from Sylvius The Mad on the old BSN forums, on how to handle things when people tries to avoid or win arguments by going to irrelevant personal things. Just let it run off without noticing, and coolly stay on subject and logic. Explain patiently, like to the children they are. If they happened to be right, then they're right and don't make anything big about accepting it. Just coolly chastise them for how they made their point. Am I good at this? No. But I'm trying, and it's a big improvement on how I handled things in high school. 👊

Turns and walks away, leaving opponent lying half-conscious in a pool of the own blood from a severely broken nose or knocked-out teeth* Am I close? No, not quite. It was never like that. I never broke anyone's nose. I may have split a few lips and temporarily loosened a tooth a bit. That's all. It would only rarely end after one punch, and only if the bully retreated and gave up. Normally, it would be a flurry of fists flailing away briefly, before it inevitably became a sort of grappling match. I would always land on top, and that was usually the end of it. At one time, the flurry continued for a while, because we were inside, in the classroom, and I think we had a desk between us or something. I quite remember the drumming sound. It's much louder indoors, ...particularly the teacher screaming. I don't think I fought much. Just a few times a year. It was just that everybody else on the school thought I was always fighting. That notion was sort of "trending". I always "won". I hade a few simple boxing feints, and a couple of Judo moves that I could actually do pretty well. That was enough to see me through. Later, in the military, I learned I wasn't good at fighting, and that I had had a tremendous luck in never encountering anybody who had any actual education or training in fighting.
