I was looking into some diet changes, and I tried some almonds and cashews as a healthy fat source.
I'm not trying that again.

Today I went down the street when a small group of teens at the bus stop laughed and pointed at me. I was probably accidentally wearing my clowns costume without noticing it.

Funny, I think you may need a different type of Clown costume. When I go out late at night in my Clown costume, people tend to be afraid of me.

Well..
First that crap made me sick to my stomach like all heck.
Next, I at a bunch on Friday evening (admittingly some lax discipline on my part) and...
...they have been PAINFUL getting out the other end.
And stubborn. I ran a mile to 'encourage' the pipes to move, and that didn't do it. I seem to be over it now (mostly) but today has been nightmarish. I was considering laxxing just to get it over with, but it seems I have waited it out.

ha! excellent pun. So far, so good. I woke up thinking it was Thursday, and scared I had slept 3 hours late. I also didn't get a whole lot of ironing done, so now I have to finish up after diner. Shame, cause I wanted to play some more original sin. But...eh, we do what we have to do. Doesn't sound good, does it? But stay with me, cause while I want to play some more tonight, I didn't get much does cause I got caught up in it this morning. I'm also planning on trying to buy some almond milk today, as I think I'm slightly lactose intolerant. I get bad gas when I drink a breakfast milkshake. But not when I eat cereal with cow milk. So excess milk is bad, but not milk in general. And this'll be interesting. I've never had almond milk. So I wanted to try it and see if I liked it or not. So, my day hasn't been bad, and was pretty good this morning. I'll take it.

Well everything was fine and dandy until 10.30pm UK, when I discovered and confronted two intruders who had broken into my apartment block with a third hanging onto the first floor stair window. After a brief and increasingly furious eruption from myself (there's nothing quite like the sound of an enraged Scotsman, especially to non-Scot's) the interloper's beat a hasty retreat. This may may appear trivial to some but I have been violently assaulted before in the city streets, so I will not tolerate any criminality or threat at my front door, I'm not prepared to let people walk all over me, I've been kicked to hell in the gutter but I'll stand my ground at my own front door, there's absolutely no way that I'm going to hide behind my door afraid to go outside, Fuck them.

Get yourself a shotgun and flash it whenever there is trouble. Saves you time and energy. And I am only semi-joking. If there was so much criminality in a place where I lived and moving was not an option I'd sure as hell get me some modern-day means of protection. Its very easy to to get beaten to death, and death is kinda final. Its up to you to prevent your premature, violent death.

I am still pissed about the fact that last week I was going to have a job interview ; I received a call to schedule it but the guy never showed up. I don't understand it, honestly.
Not related but better news: we are going to adopt a kitty bc his owner didn't want him, like he was willing to kill him bc he didn't want any more cats (that's awful). So we decided to take him with us!

So we decided to take him with us! Thats great! I too adopted two cats that were unwanted and threated like trash. Literally, my red-white cat was thrown into the trash can breaking its tail in the process, my black cat was thrown out when she was still a baby and contracted all kinds of diseases and fleas which nearly killed her. Both are super happy and healthy now, especially my red-white cat is soooooo cuddly, he is totally in love with me, LOL. He prefers cuddling and belly petting even over food when given the choice. I have no idea how people can threat baby animals like that.

I know someone who would DROWN kittens when their cat got pregnant. Every time. and they treat dogs, or cattle, like utter shit as well.

A neighbor of mine, a woman aged 90, killed baby cats by putting them in a bag and bashing said bag repeatedly against the concrete floor. I live in a rural area where things like those are rather commonplace, especially among the older generations. Heck, I have no idea how people can do that, doing such things is utterly incomprehensible for me, I couldn't hurt a baby cat even if I was offered a large sum of money. People like that are disgusting beyond measure and deserve no respect.

That's awful. ive in a rural area where things like those are rather commonplace, especially among the older generations. Exactly this. I, as well, live in a rural place where there are high rates of population ageing; we may be, in total no more than 80 people living there, and only 8 are 35 or younger. They've always done that so they don't see the issue in their actions, those sickos.

I've hit a bit of a rough patch these past few weeks. Too much work, crappy personal stuff, all colliding. And now, on top of everything else, a heatwave hit the city and I haven't properly slept since last weekend. It's just too hot and it doesn't make any sense to open the windows before midnight. I wake up once or twice an hour, and when I'm desperate enough I even take a short shower in the middle of the night. xD Yeah, good times.

Yesterday I did weight lifting without an AC in the attic and it got kinda hot, but it wasn't bad.- The lack of any wind is a little annoying, the air gets really stale and warm here. But I even so I sleep fully tucked in like a little baby, the warmth does nothing to me. Guess from ice and fire I'm fire. Owlie, get yourself a fan, on the lowest setting it absolutely improves sleeping in summer temperatures, for most people anyway. It also blows away any pesky mosquitoes, should you happen to live in an area where those are a thing. And fans are cheap AF. Also another tip you wont like much I bet - hot-cold showers. They work wonders, they dramatically decrease your temperature sensitivity. Thats 2 minutes of showering as hot as possible, then, you immediately switch to the coldest water you can possible have and shower for another two minutes. The switch from hot to cold must be instant, like jumping into cold river. Repeat that circle three times. I actually do it to increase muscle regeneration after lifting but as a nice side effect it also makes you largely indifferent to extreme temperature ranges. My pseudo-scientific explanation is it makes your hot-cold nerve receptors in your skin numb, like electro-shock therapy.

You'll get there, just take it one day at a time. Urgh sleeping in the heat is the worst. Maybe try listening to some white noise or relaxing music/sounds to help you get to sleep. Or there's this progressive muscle relaxation thing you can look up to maybe help you sleep.

Haha, and I thought women were only sensitive to cold. " style="max-width:100%;"] I am rarely ever cold as there are so many ways to protect against the cold. Some women I know that claim to get cold easily just don't know how to dress properly in winter. My pseudo-scientific explanation is it makes your hot-cold nerve receptors in your skin numb, like electro-shock therapy. Thanks for the advice, beetle. So basically you're going for the Kneipp treatment all over your body. Makes sence but I can't take really hot showers when I'm already hot, that would totally crush me and probalby would make me dizzy. Too cold showers are bad as well because then the heat in the room afterwards feels even warmer. I'm usually going with slightly cooler than body temperature showers. Those usually help for quite some time. And fans - well. I've had fans in my bedroom (mwahaha fans in my bedroom ) before but all they do for me is give me a really bad stiff neck in the morning, even if they're not directly aimed at me. Maybe they were just crappy fans? I'm not sure. I've been told ceiling fans are better. Those I only know from hotel rooms and hated all of them. xD I'm not sure. I'm definitely the ice from ice and fire. Hope things get better for you soon! You'll get there, just take it one day at a time. Urgh sleeping in the heat is the worst. Thank you for your kind words I'm usually such a sound sleeper that I'm just not used to being so exhausted all the time. That on top of the other things is just ... draining. But I know that it'll get easier at some point. Or I'll just melt into nothingness, we'll see.

Also makes the felt temperature lower since you just came from warm shower to colder room. Convection and evaporation assists cooling effect.
If you take cold shower the blood vessels contract and heat exchange is slower, keeping your core temp higher.

Too cold showers are bad as well because then the heat in the room afterwards feels even warmer. I'm usually going with slightly cooler than body temperature showers. Those usually help for quite some time. Nono, what I meant is if you expose your body to extreme temperatures which immediately change to the other direction you heat and cold receptors get confused and permanently a little number. Also, over time your blood vessels get more efficient in expanding and contracting which helps to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level during extreme temperatures or extreme physical activities. It does not matter if its a very hot or very cold day, you'll be less susceptible to either extremes. I've always thought that Kneipp was esoteric BS for old people until my weight lifter friends started to do it. Tried it out once and its effect can be described as medical in its potency. Well, right now its 36c around here and boy, I do weight lifting and working in my garden while my friends are rolling around dying like stranded jellyfish and are wrecked because they cant sleep more than a couple hours.
