I get the same thing with my morning coffee; I make it the same way every day....But sometimes it just doesn't taste right. Sometimes it tastes down-right horrible, sometimes it tastes just a bit off almost like the cream is going bad...Even if it is fresh within two days. Other times it tastes exactly as I would expect and I don't want it to end. I've chalked it up to my taste buds and the funky things going on with my mouth at 4:15 in the morning. I'm a coffee aficionado, and I can tell you that coffee is very difficult to get right every time, there's so many things that can go wrong. That said, dairy products are the most susceptible. Milk and cream may have flaws even before you buy it. I've found, that around here the big 2 litre/ 0.5gl milk carton or bottle tastes best. I can't explain it, it's strange. That's my opinion too. Coffee does vary a lot in taste, but I always feel I know why and it doesn't really surprise me. You only get consistency by always washing the pot with washing up liquid, always grinding your coffee fresh, by yourself, and heating and pouring the water yourself. I can't really be bothered with that these days. The store where I bought my coffee beans changed ownership. My coffee grinder got lost in a move. I'm lazy. So I just accept the taste. I don't drink milk or use it in coffee or tea. When it comes to the cigars, there's one fact that makes me leaning towards that it's not my nose, but they changed someway, after having been aired, that they sort of smell the same now. Not completely the same. There's difference. But close, they all smell cigar tobacco. Before, the first day, they smelled distinctly different from each other.

Consistency and cleanliness are key for good coffee. And yes, it takes time and effort, which is why I sold my espresso machine. The coffee was good, but I got almost as good results with my Moccamaster when I ground the beans very fine, and the hassle of cleaning was too much.

I've had some bad days. Presumably old stuff had acted up lately, with pains in the rib cage, back and front, presumably from odd damaged nerve ends and bones. I got an appointment with the hospital. When they X-rayed me, they had me stretched out with my arms stretched behind my head. And as I'm moving in and out of that tunnel in the machine, they tell me to take a big breath. I do, and something snaps in my back. I'm paralyzed with pain. The first day I could hardly move at all. I'm better now and home, but very wary. I have to be careful about which chairs I sit in. I can only lie in the bed on my back, and it's a procedure to get down and up. It's just a "normal" vertebra disc thing, so nothing special or connected with anything else, but still dam annoying. As a revenge I bled a bit in the x-ray room.

I was bored so I decided to clean my house a little, plus I put all my cacti into new bigger pots. I have to admit I didn't take proper care of them in the past few months, and they totally outgrew their little pots. One of them stung me pretty good. Justified revenge I guess.

I got a bad hair cut and made him fix it. now it looks worse. Drinking stout at 12:06am on a Tuesday 5/10. You should do like me and start shaving your head with a razor. Feels so much better.....and I don't waste all that money on going to a barber and having them do it improperly, or coming out disappointed on my haircut (when I had hair), and have to live with it until it grows long enough that I can go back again. Even now, what I spend on razor blades and shaving cream in a year is less than the 25 to 30 dollars every 6 to 8 weeks going to the barber's. I quickly did a rough calculation at 30 dollars every six weeks over the course of the year I would spend an estimated 320.00. I just recently bought a year's worth of razor blades for 50 dollars and an average of 4 dollars per can of shaving cream every two months. Go bald. It's cheaper. :PI PS: It's 5:00 p.m. somewhere.

Had a bad day today so after work I decided to drive to my cigar shop and get me a dozen south American smoke poles. Can't drink anymore due to bowel issues, so I smoke away my problems, lol. Anyway, in a slow zone I was cruising next to a bus, I looked at the passengers and spotted a jaw-droppingly beautiful woman. Suddenly she looked at me and made the prettiest smile I have ever seen. And poof, all my anger and frustration just vanished into thin air. Pretty crazy what a tiny gesture can do.

And poof, all my anger and frustration just vanished into thin air. Pretty crazy what a tiny gesture can do. Amen to that. And there in is proof that beautiful women have control over even the strongest man. The beauty of a woman can be so alarmingly and overwhelmingly disarming, you can be confident one moment, walking down the street strutting your stuff...and then *BAM!* You see a beautiful woman walk right past you and flash you a smile, and you become a blithering idiot with legs of jelly in a heartbeat. And forget about trying to approach her and say something macho or witty.....You'll be lucky if you can remember your own name. And yet when a beautiful woman passes you by and simply flashes you a smile of friendly greeting, it's an amazing thing how that simple, tiny gesture of kindness can brighten your day. It may even leave you thinking "She smiled at me! SHE SMILED AT ME! SHE smile at MEEEEEE!!!" as you continue on your way, clicking your heels and dancing down the street like Gene Kelly. Further workday distraction may ensue as your memory carries you back to that single, fleeting moment in time.

Well, I got my verdict. I have a kidney stone. That wasn't the cause of the paralyzing pain that hit me during X-ray though. That was just a slipped disk. I think I've mostly recovered from it now. They won't do anything about the Kidney stone. They like where it is, and predict that it "shouldn't cause me too much discomfort". Okay, so all good.

Today I helped a friend of mine with garden tools, she got a new garden rake but she got only hand tools to fit the new wooden shaft. I showed up with my disk sander, angle cutter, dremel and a couple screws. Was done in about 5 minutes and it fits just perfectly, and its secured to the shaft like a bank vault. Would have taken hours doing that with hand tools only, to get all the angles right. Now I really want to do some more craftsmanship, not sure what though.

Have been up since 3:30 a.m. this morning after having another wicked Meniere's attack last night that was full-blown, and the ringing in my ears has continued to be as loud. It's always there, always present....Not always a pure tone, sometimes the pattern changes to more of a heart-beat monitor pulsing tone...But it never stops. And the vertigo and nausea are the absolute worst. But luckily I had the attack at home rather than work. Having them at work is not fun, makes me very self-conscious even though my Admin and my colleagues are all extremely supportive.
Hoping to go to bed early tonight as I generally get up for work by 4:15 a.m.
