Dropped my phone, cracked the display. Dropped my headset, the right loudspeaker cracked and fell off. I'm a clumsy idiot. Nothing goes right lately. This may seem obvious, but I recommend buying a rugged phone case. I've been using Urban Armor Gear for years and I couldn't manage without one.

I've mine tucked away in a waterproof case with a dangly strap because I drop anything, anywhere, any time.

I recommend Otterbox cases if they have something for your phone ( www.otterbox.ie/ ), they are sturdy. I now need a new one after dropping my phone 5x from 1-3 meters to ground/floor. Nothing on the phone, the case now has small fractures so I thought its same to order a new one.

I've always bought the Otterbox Defender cases-- mostly because of the belt clip. I have a nasty habit of putting things down, getting distracted and then forgetting where I put them, and losing them......then losing my mind. So this way, I always know where my phone is: On my left hip. A plus though is that because the outer case is rubber it adds an extra layer of shock absorbency, water and dust/dirt proofing.
The only downside is that they are about 75.00 CAD after taxes. For a phone case. But for me, I don't mind paying that because I know the level of quality and rugged protection I am getting, and since I generally keep my phones beyond the 2 year contract expiration...a good case is a worthwhile investment.

This may seem obvious, but I recommend buying a rugged phone case. I've been using Urban Armor Gear for years and I couldn't manage without one. I was about to order a case for it for this very reason, but a combination of my clumsiness and bad luck foiled my plans.

Today I got me a torque screwdriver, adjustable from 1-8 NM. This thing rocks, now I can tighten screws to the exact torque I want, and that with perfect repeatability and consistency. This can be quite crucial and critical when dealing with sensitive optical devices.

Yesterday morning I got my first Covid19 vaccination. Today, my arm hurts, I have a headache, I have a light fever, and I have this really uncomfortable ache in shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and finger joints. I ate some Paracetamol, and feel much better, but I need some activity to distract me. That is a bit difficult, because all the games I have any interest in, I've played to death. But maybe I can start a new Civ V campaign...

So I injured my arm (and I honestly don't know how lmao). It's a bit painful, and it's very frustrating, as it is my dominant arm/hand. I won't be able to do stuff as, for instance, working out as I normally do for at least one week and a half. Even typing is a little bit painful, so I mostly type with just one hand lol.

What exactly is the injury, elbow joint, pinched nerve? I know I hurt myself more than once just by bad sleeping positions, one thing that happens pretty often is when I lay on my side my relatively high body weight slowly squishes my upper arms shoulder head against the scapula which will result into a temporary inflammation of the ligament there. Like if I was pressing a heavy weight with no tension in the shoulders. Takes days till it gets better. If you get weird aches with no obvious cause it is advisable to take a closer look at your sleep position.

I sleep in some very weird and awkward positions and I have ridiculous tension in my shoulders.

Sorry to hear that, Swoop. Hope you feel better soon. (sending an E-Hug your way ) Aw thanks! You're quite welcome, Swoop. Any time you need or want a hug....just ask. I love giving/receiving hugs, to me they are as needed as the air I breathe and they are my favourite gift to both give and receive at Christmas. To me, that is the biggest downer about COVID. You see, to me.... When I know someone and I greet them, I would much rather greet them with an hug rathe than a handshake (not that I have any problems with a firm, hardy handshake)...But if I have a good relationship with someone, I would much rather hug them because to me it is a better representation of the relationship we share, and it is just a far more personal interaction. (Plus it just makes us feel good. It feels good to hug and be hugged and no matter how you are feeling or what you are going through on any given day.....when someone comes along side you and gives you a hug as if to say Im here for you, I understand your pain/hurt/sorrow/happiness, and I want to share with you in that experience it just makes everything better.

The thing is I started to feel a little bit of pain Saturday, didn't pay too much attention to it so on Sunday, I helped my parents' with gardening work, and we are also "building" a decorative wall in the garden with rocks and stuff. So I lifted "heavy" stuff, used tools which needed some arm strength, carried things with a wheelbarrow...etc. By the end of the day my whole arm, from shoulder to fingers, was swollen, couldn't even move my pinky finger. So what started with a mild tendon inflammation was aggravated by me not paying attention to it lmao. I do get shoulder and neck pain bc of bad sleeping position, as well. But nothing serious, just a mild "tension".

I totally agree with you! It was very hard for me not being able to give hugs to those I love lmao. Thankfully, my sis, niece and I live together, so I can, and I do, hug my niece everytime I need a hug A friend of mine from my first venture in College, he was an exchange student on sponsor from Mali in West Africa...I haven't seen him in several years because life has gotten in the way, but I'll never forget his story, his face, his smile (he was always so infectiously happy)...nor how he greeted everyone he met, even if he didn't know them and was meeting them for the first time: With an ear-to-ear, teeth-showing grin, and arms fully extended, he would walk right up to you and exclaimed "Brother/Sister.....I greet you in the Name of Jesus!" and just wrap you up in this totally genuine hug. Not a pleasant, if meek handshake and a "hi, it's nice to meet you"....But an arms-wide-open, all-encompassing hug. And as I got to know him over the year I was there on residence, that just became the commonplace way that we would greet each other, no matter the time, place or situation. And it wasn't awkward or weird, even from the very first time it felt totally normal, totally genuine. Thinking back, I miss that. I miss that personal, physical connection with people. I haven't thought about that in a while.....Makes me want to try to connect with him again, see how he is doing...

At least your sacrifice was for a good cause! Garden work should not be underestimated, today my lawnmower got stuck in a molehill but instead of doing the clever thing and lifting it out I got angry and simply pushed super hard until I got it out. Then I felt a sudden sharp pain, first I thought I got stung by a wasp or something but then I discovered that a blood vessel in palm popped from all the pushing (The lawn mover handle is not cushioned, its a simple steel bar). Later that day I also got a blister on the palm of the same hand from digging a new vegetable patch. I lift a lot of weight in my training and you'd think that would prepare me for such chores, but garden work always does a lot of damage, LOL.

Today a friend of mine locked herself out of her car. Keys inside, doors and trunk locked, windows up. She didn't know what to do. I remembered a scene in a movie - I unhooked the battery ( disable the car alarm), got a wire cloth hanger and bent it into a long hook, forced apart the space between the window and the rubber seal with a scissor to insert the wire, then I fished for the door handle and BAM - the car was open in about 2 minutes. Never done this before and I didn't think it was that easy. This was fun.

Never done this before and I didn't think it was that easy. This was fun. Just be careful Beetle, doing that with a coat hanger....Even with a "Slim Jim" can really bugger up the locking mechanisms. You can also separate and damage the rubber seals around the windows that provide sound and weathering insulation. Both are costly repairs that would not fall under warranty. Happy it worked, because locking your keys in your car (without a service like GM's ON STAR to call for assistance) is a total pain. But for the longevity of the car, I would not get into the habit of doing that every time.

Today I discovered coconut + rice ''milk'' and its AWESOME. Add a little cane sugar and cocoa and its way better than normal chocolate cow milk. I never liked how cowmilk tastes, so I only used it on coffee. Nowadays I use Oatly iKaffe which is oat based 'milk' formulated for coffee. Much better tasting. Rice+Coconut milk is good too, especially with cornflakes and porridge.
