Tom Brady now has more SB wins than any franchise in the NFL. Not surprised tbh, he's that good and fortunate 🤷 and he'll be the most accomplished player whenever he decides to retire.
The chiefs didn't play as good as I thought they would, I'd even say they kind of didn't come to play considering they tend to score easy but Tampa's defense really did a great job pressuring mahones to help contribute to that.
Alex Smith won the comeback player award (definitely deserves it after all he's been through and all the hard work and perseverance he had to get back to a starting qb). I've been watching some of the documentary on that leg recovery as I hadn't till now but my God was that leg a mess at the start. I can definitely see why no one thought he'd ever play again. I will say I still feel like he needs to retire to stay safe, I don't trust that titanium to hold up hit after hit and his safety should be a priority for himself and his family. He accomplished his goal, even exceeded it actually so I think that's a good note to leave on. If he chooses to not to I'll always be cautious and worried about him but I can at least feel comfortable with him being Washingtons short term QB, we actually win most of our games with him so yea. I'd just draft a QB and have Smith mentor till he passes the torch. Still I think it'll be better for everyone if he retires while he can still have a leg.

So who were those guys in Chiefs uniforms and what did they do with the Chiefs? Several days ago Russell Wilson predicted the Bucs would win this Superbowl. That worried me a bit because Russ usually knows what he's talking about. I still chose Kansas City. The Chiefs are young and gifted, but it wasn't their night. Patrick Mahomes didn't have the coverage he needed and the Bucs defense was as effective as they needed to be. The Chiefs had way too many penalties. They reminded me a little of the Seahawks that way. I'm happy for Coach Bruce Arians as he's never had a Superbowl win before. At 68, there won't be too many more seasons in his future. Love or hate them, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are two pretty incredible guys. I wonder if Britt Reid's DUI accident that injured two little girls and left one fighting for her life was a factor in the Chief's overall morale tonight... Well, if anyone thought that an aging Brady and Gronk couldn't succeed outside of the Patriots organization, without Bill Belichick, they have now been proven wrong. But how long can this last? That must be one incredible vegan diet Tom Brady is on. Rob Gronkowski eats mostly vegan too. I just bought Tom Brady's Cook Book. The price has come down a lot since it was first published in 2016. It sounds like this diet would be good for all kinds of issues.

I haven't paid much attention to the NFL this season, and I too was surprised the Chiefs performance. Until I starting looking up some stats on Football Outsiders, yeah the Chiefs fell off a cliff after week 12, and were actually pretty lucky, a true talent 11-5 team. The Bucs on the other hand were the 2nd best team in the NFL, only behind the Saints.

It sounds like this diet would be good for all kinds of issues. Oh yea, Brady was big for NE, they didn't have to worry about the most important position for so long and honestly even at 43 (soon to be 44 in August) he can still ball. Now he definitely has shown a little decline but I'd still put him as a top 5 qb. I do still think Bill was a big part of that success though, he did a ton of roster personnel stuff to make sure they stayed contending for so long and I think a lot of that has also finally caught up to them with all the cap space issues NE has ran into. I don't fault Brady for leaving when he can still play at such a high level and compete for rings (although I personally think he also wanted to prove he can win without bill, a feat that yes he's now proven and honestly does Brady even have anything more to prove?). Brady is truly special, he may not be as takented of a thrower as say Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes, he wasn't ever an athletic QB as well but his longevity to play at a consistently high level is probably something we won't see for a very long time. 43 years old and he's playing great, and he's still winning doing it. 10 SB appearances and 7 rings is a huuuuge accomplishment and in my opinion I'm not sure anyone will ever have that kind of success like Brady, it takes a lot for you to get that lucky on a dynasty team as well as changing teams and still contending. I was surprised but not shocked Tampa made it tbh. Brady brought over leadership and a "been there done that" attitude of experience to Tampa and I'm sure it drove them to do what they just did. It's why Tompa Bay is a thing lol. I know Brady has said he'll play till he's 45 and I believe he really can, he definitely takes extreme care of his body and has it in top shape. That said can Tampa repeat? It's possible but repeating in the NFL is hard, I know KC lost but they can at least be proud they got to repeat going back again. KC can also come back if they upgrade that defense and add more depth to that offensive line, Patrick Mahomes is still very young so they have a lot of time to win and build SB teams.

And on the Billy Reid topic: it's a Shame the guy was so irresponsible to put others in danger and I hope everyone is alright. I know Andy has already been ridiculed over it since it's his son but I find it unfair towards him, I doubt Andy condones what his son did and I'm sure it hurts Andy to know his son nearly killed a little girl and potentially others over irresponsible actions. Drinking and driving is a big no for a reason and it's been preached for years and years.
I know Andy said it wasn't a distraction but I'd like to think it had to be on the mind even just a little at least.

It's too bad Tampa isn't on the Seahawks regular season schedule next fall. I really want to see Russ and the Hawks take down Tom Brady before he retires. Hopefully next year will be a better year for us and we'll get to play the Bucs sometime during the playoffs. Two good things for the Seahawks this past season: we are the only team in the NFL not to have a single Covid-19 infection and Russell Wilson won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for all the charity work he's done. That, and 12-4 isn't a bad regular season record. More on yesterday's game. Missing his his two starting offensive tackles, this was possibly the worst game of Patrick Mahomes' career. His foot was bothering him too. I'm glad he's only 25 and has many years ahead to play far better games than this one. On a bum foot with a patchwork O-line, Super Bowl LV was Patrick Mahomes' worst loss as a prosports.yahoo.com/on-a-bum-foot-with-a-patchwork-oline-super-bowl-lv-was-patrick-mahomes-worst-loss-as-a-pro-070731284.html

i m not really familiar with NFL, being french (but i have been watching playoff without a clue for 5-7 years) Question for u guys : wasnt the penalties against chiefs defense in quarter 2 a bit exagerated ? Felt like pretty normal defense from my PoV...
Edit: i never found Brady to be the most skilled QBs (watching Highlights ) but seems he definitely proved he was the best overall ? A bit like if Messy won the champions league with Tottenham , ok, maybe Chelsea, at 34

I'm not surprised by the Bucs winning. What I'm surprised about his the score. KC can blame themselves. Too many penalties that led to the Bucs continuing a drive that led to points. The offensive line seemed to be thinking of something else instead of protecting their QB. Big thumbs up to the Bucs defense for doing what they did.
What's significant about the offensive line for KC having trouble. It's very similar to what happen to my Panthers against the Broncos in Superbowl 50. The offensive line failed to protect Newton. I will say again as I said back then. Had KC put in a 6th offensive lineman, Mahomes would have had more time to get the ball downfield. Having a 6th offensive lineman worked for the Raiders against the Broncos that season. They won. I'm surprised the KC coaching staff didn't do the same. Another thing that could have helped is making quick passes that might have relieved some of the pressure.
During the season and the playoffs, 9 of KC's wins were within one score. It seems they weren't as dominate as some might believe.
Lastly. How many New England fans woke up this morning wondering if Brady stayed, would they have won the Superbowl?

A bit like if Messy won the champions league with Tottenham , ok, maybe Chelsea, at 34 The penalties were a little excessive yes, but it happens pretty here and there. As for your Brady question: I think he's actually pretty skilled, he's great on the throws he makes, he knows how to read a defense and he can make adjustments before a play starts that works in his favor. Mentally I don't believe anyone is better, and I don't think anyone could mentally rival him ever since Peyton Manning played. Brady can tell if you're blitzing, dropping people back into coverage, pressing with your DBs, etc etc I do think there are some more talented QBs though, mahomes makes throw no one else can, Aaron Rodgers can too but Mahomes is just better. Mahomes actually made some of the most beautiful incomplete passes last night lol.

The weapons Brady has in Tampa is probably the best of his career and all he wouldve had in NE, all else being equal...was James White. Which is a great player one of my favs hope he goes to Tampa but that wouldve been his only real option.

Well I'm a happy camper. Different teams, same Brady. It makes a difference to me that Brady and Gronk are playing for a new team. I never thought that Bill Belichick was a very good influence on his players' character, in spite of his being a very good coach in other ways. The team culture under someone like Bruce Arians has got to be vastly different. It has been revealing to see them play so well for a team that probably didn't give them any special advantages. It's a validation of the unique talent this pair brought to Tampa. I credit both Brady and Gronk in this win; I don't think Tom would have had the season he's had without Gronk.
