Well, F76 is not for me either. Prey 2 unfortunately doesn't excite me at all. Looks way too much like a fairly generic open world thing. Another Doom could be nice but really we haven't seen much here and it's also not anything I am loosing sleep over. The TES Phone game looks fairly impressive from a purely technical perspective, I'll give 'em that but I'll probably never play it, no a phone gamer. So yea, the best parts for me were also definitely the Starfield and TES 6 teasers (which I really didn't expect anymore at this point, so I am very happy about those two) and the Skyrim on Alexa thing, which was very funny. In general, I think Tod Howard did a very good job on everything he presented and he kinda saved the press conference IMO. Definitely better then their Bethesda Land BS last year. It's actually not Prey 2, it's just an update, but yeah... not really that interesting, especially since it's all a "simulation" in that update apparently, and anyone who played Prey (reboot) understands where I'm going with this... F76 definitely nay for me. RAGE 2 is big yes, Doom... eh, I feel it's too soon, but that's me. SF and TES awesome, but so far away... at this point I just expect to get another trailer for each of those games next E3. Fun fact if anyone saw the interview with Todd. The Alexa thing is real you can go and download, it's a joke app, but it works. Wow, sorry, I meant Rage 2, not Prey 2, little brain malfunction on my part there. The Prey DLC stuff actually looked kinda intersting to me but I am not even through the main game so, well, whatever. But hehe, I love that they made a real Alexa thing out of it. That's fantastic. With all that self-adulation that is going on at E3 press conferences (and Bethesda's by no means excluded), a little self deprecating humor is very refreshing and makes them way more likable to me than all this "we are so amazing" BS.

I'm one of the apparently very few who hated that game's ending simply because of "where you're going with that". And that's also the reason why I'm not excited for it's addon/expansion/dlc/whatever it's supposed to be. Starfield on the other hand: Single player space exploration game, Bethesda open-world style? Sounds like instabuy for me! Even though it's going to be riddled with bugs on release...

from the DA twitter thread, not to derail things further... Good thing it was a teaser, not a trailer, in which case you would be absolutely right. Maybe not the shittiest though, the Starfield teaser was similarly unhelpful. I'm just glad they kept the "code name" as the actual series' name. Starfield is a cool name, imo. Also, the teaser showed space and breaking space-time. So, it was still cool? lol Starfield was also the codename? The first time I heard it was when some youtuber pointed out that Bethesda had reserved the rights for that name years ago. Perhaps they just don't do the Joplin- and Dylan-thing.
Then again there were rumours TES VI had the codename "Greenheart", which is a city in Valenwood. Sounds straight to the point, but wherever the place in the teaser is, it doesn't look like Valenwood to me. So either this "leak" is false, they wanted to mislead everyone or Valenwood is a lot more arid than I thought.

My first thought was Els-whatever the Khajit place is called. I’m interested in Starfield, but I still have no idea what it actually is.

I'm gonna copy-paste the shit I've wrote in the Fallout thread after watching the latest Noclip documentary about Beth. Small bits about Starfield:
Once 76 is out, Maryland and Montreal studios will move on to Starfield. Austin will remain in charge of the on-line service of 76.
They were going to announce Starfield and TES VI this E3 all along, since this interview was done pre E3 and they discussed the games announcement a little bit. Starfield is mentioned as a "massive undertaking" and in Todd Howard's words in the list of things they always wanted to do, this is "the biggest most epic science fiction thing you can possibly imagine" and "I think we are uniquely positioned to make this game". Supposed to be a big single player game.
Sorry, that's all we've got about it.

I remember Oblivion's third person was dreadful so much I never ever played like that, same with FO3. Skyrim is more decent, and FO4 is fairly passable if you don't engage in shooting.

I doubt I'll ever do much of anything besides walking in third person in a Bethesda game, personally. And even then, it was usually to use the drawn bow in 3rd person trick to speed up my walking when over encumbered. Or just to admire my character when she was stood still. Definitely not combat. Its wonky enough in 1st person as it is. lol

Swinging a melee weapon in Skyrim was painful to watch and I'm not talking about the NPC's trying to kill you Starfield is at least a year away.

So, ok, even after E3 is over, we really don't know much beyond the teaser trailer, right? Here are my best (and possibly quite infantile) hopes for what this game will be: - A decent amount of star systems to explore (I wouldn't even expect too many, maybe a dozen but make those really well instead, see below). - Quite a few very different planets and moons (and/or space installations) to explore per system. - Planets are procedurally generated (but better than in No Man's Sky) with half way realistically defined physical parameters dependent on their location in the system, and different biomes on the planet if appropriate. However, NPCs and creatures should not be procedural but hand crafted. - On these procedural planets there should be hand made points of interest such as landing zones, quest relevant places like dungeons or enemy strongholds, next to some procedural locations (basically a similar design philosophy as for Star Citizen but built for an SP game. - Planetside the game handles like an RPG-shooter hybred (think Mass Effect or Deus Ex) with the typical Bethesda learning-by-doing RPG mechanics. - Between planets we fly a space ship, either we can buy/sell different ships or we can extensively upgrade and modify. In any case, we should be able spec it for different roles (freighter/fighter/explorer, etc.). Space combat should be a good mix between sim and arcade (maybe dependent on a difficulty level that could be seperate from ground based). Personally, I wouldn't mind something that handles a little like freelancer, maybe a bit more complex than that but not too much. - There is a decent main story-line that guides you through the universe (don't expect too much here, it is Bethesda after all) - It would actually be more important to me that there are heaps of side quests. I am thinking similar to "The Long Journey Home" here. You fly somewhere and anything can happen, based on a rich lore. There might be different factions that you can align with or make your enemy, etc. But basically give us heaps of shorter stories to go through while exploring the worlds. - Modding Support: make an Editor available that is powerful enough for the community to create their own adventures and place them on the "free" space on the planets or even create their own star systems and add those to the map. I know, this would be a lot of stuff but this would basically be my dream game and Bethesda seems like one of the few studios in a position to build something like that and hay, a gamer can dream, right?

So I was watching the teaser for this again and I noticed that it says a word in the bottom left of the frame as the teaser starts. I think its "Constel", possibly part of the word constellation? (The letter after E kinda fades out first, but I'm like 90% its an L.) And with a weird little symbol before the C. So... yeah.

I'd add that I'd like at least one really cool, really large space station to explore. But yeah, this list sounds good to me.

The overall theme of this year’s E3 for me was reminding me of just how much older I am now than when the series I love began and how much older i’ll Be when they pick up again.... Ye, I don't even llike to think when a next Mass Effect game might be coming. If at all. Ugh, yeah. Keeps syncing with me life, too. ME1 - Very teenager, high school even. It helped inspire me. MET (ME1-ME3) - College, mistakes during it, surviving after it, trying to return. It both motivated (awesome stories) and demotivated (ending) me. ... MEA wait - The most boring and uneventful time of my life. Neither horrible as its been before, nor as close to as great as its been. Crappy STASIS. MEA - Very 20s, fully returning to college, initial stumbling but ending in a place of opportunity, enough success, and progress..? ... ME'5' wait? - Getting everything in order, graduating, advancing. ME'5'? - Early (or later?) 30s, and sorted out? A new age, more properly? Lessons fully applied? God I hope so! Ha. A ME that releases 2022, releases over 15 years since the first game .

They will continue with mod support, I'm sure. Todd said mods are key to their games and it's essentially what keeps their games alive for so long. I hope for perhaps faster release of the modding tools (because FO4 had the CK released after an entire year IIRC, whereas Skyrim got the CK released after 1 month), and just better tools all around.

Bethesda still wants mods.
They just also still want to find better ways to merge monetization of the modding community's actions.
Would not be surprised to see Starfield (or maybe even Fallout 76 post-launch) come with some company modding 'support' as long as one agrees to certain 'conditions'...

Bethesda still wants mods. They just also still want to find better ways to merge monetization of the modding community's actions. Would not be surprised to see Starfield (or maybe even Fallout 76 post-launch) come with some company modding 'support' as long as one agrees to certain 'conditions'... You can practically see the gleam in their accountants' eyes from here as they're looking at the Skyrim stats of over 1.6 billion mod downloads. And that's just Skyrim on PC. But if they try to push Creative Club exclusivity... it'll go thermonuclear. Even I have a hard time believing they would risk that. They might try inching their way in that direction somehow, but still...

(maybe Starfield) TES6 - Hosted! Astonishingly, mods no worky so well without being hosted? Huh *scratch head*.

Our modders found a way around it. And the Bethesda modding community has way more people in it to work on that kind of problem. They'd crack the game and make mods possible.

Todd said mods are key to their games and it's essentially what keeps their games alive for so long. mods are also the only things that keep their games from crashing every time you sneeze lmao

Given the enormity of the mod community, and all the goodwill they bring to Beth, the sales (directly and indirectly), the longevity, I think there's only so far Bethesda would go here. They wouldn't risk hitting a tipping point that would turn all that against them. But I'm sure they'll come close... I agree we'll likely see incentives and maybe more "Mini-DLC" (with things like proper VA-ing, a little more professional polish, etc.) sold through the CC. Projects that might be more than most the mod community could (or would want to) tackle. Y'know... actually having decent offerings might not be a bad idea. But I think the existing modding community as it stands will continue on and is relatively safe.

What's the most important mod ever to be released in Beth games? Unoficial [insert game] Patch, and they always are the number 1 most downloaded and endorsed on the Nexus.

Seeing how they aim for toxiplay mechanics and online features in Fallout wossdatnumber I'm pretty sceptic about the future development of Bethesda games.

Seeing how they aim for toxiplay mechanics and online features in Fallout wossdatnumber I'm pretty sceptic about the future development of Bethesda games. Well, Todd Howard did specifically say in the presentation that both, Starfield and TES6 are their two upcoming big SP RPGs. So unless he's lying or they chenge something drastic about their plans during development (which would also mean that he was lying, just not as badly), they should not be reiterations of Fallout 76.
