So what do you ladies and gentleman do to make your life just that tad bit easier and save yourself a those 5 seconds of your day? Ill just post mine ones in the spoiler to make it look somewhat neater. 1)when i have my alarm set for morning i put my phone on the other side of the room to make sure that i will wake up. 2)i always chew gum when revising or tying to memorize something then chew it again since it helps with remembering (done it on exams plenty of times and works pretty well) 3)When making lasagna i put cheese on top of it instead of cream source since its easier and its still pretty damn tasty. 4)When shopping i pick products on the very back since these have later expiry date 5) img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/am9O1gV_700b.jpg

* When I cook noodles I put some cooking oil into the water pot which will prevent foam building up and spilling over leaving one hell of mess on my stove.
* (Disinfected!) Toothbrushes make excellent cleaning tools for cleaning dirty wounds.
* When you have to pick up and lift heavy objects brace your core. Take a deep breath and hold it, push your belly OUT and at the same time flex your abs as hard as you can, keep your back and your head straight. Then lift. NEVER breathe out during a lift and NEVER look at the floor. This will save your back for years to come.
* When I go camping I always take an empty plastic bottle, cut off the top, insert it in reverse and put it in my tent. The last thing I want to do when its cold and rainy (or even snowing) is having to get in my wet, cold clothes and in the rain outside just to take a goddamn piss.
*When you shoot a rifle, never hold your breath. Holding your breath is tensing your lungs, a muscle under tension shakes which does not help your aim. Relax and control your breath and heartbeat instead. (Also, you'll get dizzy if you have to fire multiple shots, and thats never good)

* Lift with your legs when possible, especially when you have to carry heavy amounts on your back. * Good tip, but it's easier if you just stand in the entrance of the tent and piss out. Depends largely on the size of your tent. I use a one/two person cheapo tent (the sleep system is what you want to fork out for) or just make a hooch with a tarp (my sleep system is Military Arctic-thermal grade and waterproof.) Also, use clothes as additional insulation in a sleeping bag when in the cold; this will keep you warmer at night, and keep the clothes warm for when you put them on. * I always shoot on the exhale. Controlling your breathing throughout your shot is a huge deal. While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to breathing techniques, shooters should definitely find their preference and master it so their breathing doesn’t harm accuracy. Some guys have it where it’s going to be on the full inhale, others on the full exhale, and some do it in between. It’s all about finding your natural shooting position. But you don’t want to hold your breath because you’ll start getting shaky, your heart is going to start elevating and there is more and more shooter error. One thing to remember is that mistakes become increasingly exaggerated the more distance there is between the shooter and the target. Also, pulling the trigger of a rifle should be a smooth squeezing motion, not a jerk. Many times poor trigger control is the result of a shooter anticipating the weapon’s kick or recoil. The gun isn't going to hurt you. There's no need to tense up when firing. Too many times people flinch in anticipation. Don't flinch, don't tense; just squeeze and fire. All of this being ironic since I'm against civilians having wanton access to military grade weaponry. But I did have to run range control; that meant showing people how to shoot, or making Soldiers (and more than a few Marines) remember how to shoot properly. And here's my own: For shaving, when I have a razor that gets dull, I push it forward on the back of my hand to clear it out and get more life out of the razor. The average life for a razor for me is about 8-9 months with this method. Saves me so much on having to buy new razors every few weeks. I believe this would work for the ladies as well.

Well I like my method, cheese on top, bottom , inbetween, all over, so much it gets messy, real real messy. So much cheese it's hard to find the pasta.

On a related note, when making tacos with hard taco shells, put a bit of cheese in them 1st and micorwave for a few seconds. This makes the curve part of the taco more elastic and it will break far less often after you have added your other ingredients.

To de-skin tomatoes,
Put them in boiling water for a few seconds and then into an ice bath and the skin should slip off fairly easily.

Gall soap is very good with organic stains, ie. coffee, berry, red wine stains. Use it! (Not especially Sonett brand but any gall soap.)

If I have to remember a sequence of numbers I imagine walking in through the front door of my family home and encountering animals corresponding with the numbers through each room I walk through. So if I have to remember 3481 I imagine walking through the hallway and seeing 3 squirrels jumping between the coat-hangers, then I walk into the kitchen and see 4 dogs playing poker, after which I walk into the living room and see 8 foxes sitting on the sofas watching tv, and then when I finally enter the bathroom I find it already occupied by a bear. Works as long as the sequence of numbers don't outnumber the rooms of your house.

This tip doesn't make anything easier per se, just more delicious. When making iced coffee, freeze a batch of coffee ice cubes beforehand and use those instead of regular ice cubes.

Everyone should:
1. Have a small sewing kit and know how to sew a button back on. (This helps you be self-reliant, which aids confidence) 2. Make at least three meals from scratch. (as above, but also helps socially) 3. Change a car tire. (as above) 4. Recite at least one poem by heart. (helps boost memory) 5. Do laundry. (more self reliance) 6. Ask for directions in another language. (language skills are always good. They improve brain function) 7. Have a small tool kit (hammer, screwdrivers, file, adjustable wrench, measuring tape and level) and know how to use them. (self reliance) 8. Know how to fill and paint a wall (especially if you rent). 9. Swim. (this may save your life or someone else's) 10. Dress appropriately. (social graces and manners are more important than you might think)

I'll do some bandwagon-jumping here: Everyone should: * Follow a basic exercise schedule to keep the back healthy and in good shape. * Should read at least one good war diary/novel to know what war is really like behind the myths and TV bullshit * Have enough food stored to last a week without having to go to the grocery store * Possess the skill to read maps and to navigate without GPS or electronic aids * Read a detailed book about human physiology to get a basic idea about how your own body really works * Be able to predict the weather by reading signs like clouds, wind, temperature drops etc. * Be able to do basics fixes on your car like changing, tires, battery, check brakes etc. * Read Kant / Schopenhauer

Same here; I make a couple of mean dishes, though I don't make them much since I really can't eat them myself. 3. If you're an adult and can't do this, you shouldn't be driving. 4. 'The Next War' by Wilfred Owen. Otherwise, do dirty limericks count? I'm not much for poetry. 5. See number 3. It's terrifying how few people know how to do this. 6. Google maps. I learned a language because I was expected to conduct an interrogation in said language. Does that count? 7. Swiss Army Knife, Gerber tool, and SOG tactical knife. What problem? 8. I use Flags, but yes. 9. High School Swim team, held a record for 3 years in the 200 meter butterfly at my school. 10. Depends on what we're talking about; I'd say knowing what to wear and when. There's a time and a place for business casual, formal, etc.

beetle and mousestalker I agree with both of you but i would add that:
1)Everyone should know somewhat some basics for first aid, specially CPR (it can be a life changer) 2)Call your love ones that your rarely see once a week (more or less) 3)Do all chores that are needed to keep your house look good, makes it easier to live (changing sheets, as mousestalker mentioned do laundry, vacuum etc etc) 4)Have at least one houseplants (helps one with responsibility) 5)Not only watch TV to get all your news and information from, internet or newspapers are great way to get those as well. 6)Everyone should know how to approach and meet new people. 7)Listen (you can learn a lot) 8)Don't leave stuff you can do now for later. 9)Should know the difference between your/you're, then/than and to/too
EDIT: I forgot about something very important: 10)Have good personal hygiene, people will not want to know you if you smell..
(my mother works in a factory as production line co-coordinator and i've heard stories that people were told to leave work to go home since they smelled so bad, she sends anyone who smells badly away from her line if possible, simply saying people will avoid you as much as possible...)

Don't bother throwing pears that have fallen off your tree at magpies or squirrels in your back yard because you almost always miss and they keep coming back. (Don't ask me why I know this.)
On the weight training theme, I'll toss in my two cents.
- Proper form over the amount of weight. I see tons of guys just hoisting around weights that are too heavy for the exercise they are doing, their lack of proper form means they are not working out the part of the boys they are supposed to be working on.
- The amount of weight or type of exercise that others are doing should have zero relevance to the routine you have come up with. You are competing with yourself, not the next guy or girl to you.
- Try and work as well on your weak points as you do on the strong parts of your body. You see a ton of guys with great upper body physiques and chicken legs.
- The worst music in the world is always played in fitness facilities, this appears to be some kind of hard and fast rule.

A minor one:
If you feel you're ready to sneeze and you don't want that (because you're at the cinema, or someone's sleeping, or whatever), tickle the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue. That will stop the sneezing.
