Wow, what an improvement. When I almost gave up on all the shotguns other than the Piranha. The Dhan has improved greatly too. It's no longer a Wraith wanna be. It's now a Geth plasma shotgun wanna be. Mine is at VI or VII. I'd rather have a geth plasma shotgun. I have a feeling the Geth would have made short works of Andromeda. But hey, how bout that Crusader. I can now take it or the Piranha into a game now.

I thought the Dhan was pretty decent pre-patch but i'm definitely loving the Crusader now.

I still wish they just would have given the Crusader it's damn pinpoint aim back, but I have to admit that it's pretty damn good as it is now.
The Dhan seems like a monster now, though I only used it on one match.

I was afraid of this topic. I tried the Crusader yesterday after reading the changes, and it's probably the best or at least one of the best shotguns in MEA right now (don't have Dhan or Piranha). I love it. And now I'm afraid they'll nerf it back to oblivion.

Yeah, the Dhan puts out incredible damage but the mechanics of that gun is not very good. I still won't use it. The Piranha is still king, as it should be. The Crusader on the soldier is great. Almost like a sniper shotgun (from ME3) again in terms of effectiveness. Some people are waxing about the updated Ushior pistol (sniper pistol). It's really good now, but the Crusader is definitely more effective. I took both into a game with my soldier and compared them. It's not even close.
The crusader is still not up to the last ME3 buff. It's not that godly yet.

Barely touched it in ME3 as many was better. This buff however makes me wanting to get it. You should have tried it after the last ME3 buff. It became the equal of the Piranha and Wraith. The Crusader (after the last buff) and Hurricane (from the start) were the only two N7 in ME3 that deserved their N7 labels. The Valiant was great but not N7 worthy. The Eagle was... well, the Eagle. The gun only a turian soldier could make adequate.

I have a Crusader I and Ruzad IV and honestly the Ruzad is much better on any class. They seriously need to fix the aim on Crusader to be pinpoint, especially since you can't put a smart choke on it.
It's far better than it was, but still pretty weak on gold at rank 1, and feels frustrating to use. The Ruzad with smart choke is much more accurate.

Did you play it on host or off host on a good connection? I had immense problems with it on a poor connection. On a good connection though, at level 1 it wrecked on gold (tested it on sentinels and the Krogan engi). Granted, I was aiming for headshots, though.

It's good. But I prefer Dhan. Dhan staggers and has a crazy weakpoint hit now. Also real easy to aim.

I was playing both the Crusader and Ruzad off-host last night. 2-3 games each. Played HSol and HSent (both built for weapon damage/accuracy). The Crusader felt very inaccurate compared with Ruzad + smart choke. I was going for headshots with both. Ruzad surprised me with its accuracy at midrange. Crusader disappointed.

Definitely in a really nice spot now, you can use it at pretty much any range on every map that isn't Icebreaker.

But hey, how bout that Crusader. I can now take it or the Piranha into a game now. Salarian inf with Geth shotgun was my original off-host goto for gold. (Vanguard Shoutyman when hosting once I could reliably not get stuck under the map) Charge GPS, Cloak, ED, release, charge/followup = Dead phantom or several mooks in less than a second. Was odd as anything to get used to the charge mechanic interacting with cloak and dropping off small ledges, but it was effective with the power-like aim of the thing. With how even more unreliable the charge mechanic is in this for other guns, kinda glad GPS wasn't put in Dhan has convinced me to try infiltrators again! For some reason I always go the unexpected route... Started using Vanquisher on my Human Vangod early on - Nothing like using my 1 key to zoom in automatically before shooting (though favored the equalizer once I got it due to anything with reload stopping gameplay flow like rockets) Shotguns gonna get some serious love again from me in 1.06, just need that Crusader unlock... *crosses fingers for claymore dlc*

Haven't tested this yet, do the penetration mods stack with the Recon Visor? Surely they don't....that would mean you actually do more damage shooting through cover, than not
