Yarrr, 'tis kotaku. They've often been hoisted by their own retards (yep, that was intentional).
There may or may not be a story, but as long as it's from those fucktards, my field of fucks to give lies barren.

For me this ain´t a reading thing but more a believing thing. EA is unhappy with the 5 years development time and I fear they might be shortchanging the staff working on MEA.

1. Bioware Montreal was always a support studio.
2. They were given their first chance with Andromeda and blew it.
3. While EA figure out what to do, they are back to being a support studio - mostly for the other branch in the same building.
4. Mass Effect isn't dead. It is still a huge franchise. But clearly, a course correction is needed.
5. Executives at Montreal will hopefully be given the boot.
6. For now, this is Kotaku. We really don't know much until we hear an investor call or otherwise an interview from EA.

1) They didn't pull the team from Andromeda, the team from Mass Effect in general was pulled, which simply means they're currently not developing the next title, but, as they said, are continuing work on Andromeda. 2) I still don't see any consistent problems with Andromeda, the complaints I have seen are pretty vague and incoherent, to say the least. 3) The one shortcoming of Andromeda may be that it's storyline isn't that great, which we knew in advance for two reasons. First, it's because Andromeda is the introduction of a new setting (Andromeda instead of Milky Way), so the storyline was to be considered relatively "light". Second, it's because Mass Effect in general is still suffering from having the same lead writer that ME3 had. You know, the same one who locked himself in for two days to write the ending for ME3 without accepting any constructive feedback whatsoever from his team of more capable writers, nor QA playtesters.

People, you gotta remember, BW did this exact same routine for ME3. Those devs on contract and not on salary are always let go once their contributions to development are complete so they can find new work, and those who are on salary get moved around internally as need be. SP is basically wrapped up, so only MP needs support staffers. Eventually, once MP development is sunset, those people will move on too, just like ME3. Now, we'll probably never hear about which particular team members get shuffled unless Twitter detectives get to work, but if it does turn out that this move reduces MP support to a barebones crew, that's when I'll be worried about BW's commitment to MP.

You know, the same one who locked himself in for two days to write the ending for ME3 without accepting any constructive feedback whatsoever from his team of more capable writers, nor QA playtesters. Wait, for ME:A isn't Chris Schlerf (who left BW for Bungie) the lead writer opposed to Mac Walters who was the lead writer for ME3? Though I am sure he is still the decision maker as Creative director. And Casey Hudson was in that role for ME3 and got the bulk of hate for it (some of it deserved, I mean the more restrained one). At least I believe I was blaming Casey Hudson for everything going wrong in the world for a few months there, did I misdirect my discontent? Also BW did hire back ME1&2's original writer - I was hoping he would get to work on Andromeda at the time but they put him on SWTOR. And also, a video that is always appropriate to post in those apocalypse scenario threads:

Exactly. It's completely normal for any AAA studio to grow in size as development progresses. The core team might stay to work on DLC afterwards, but many are simply reassigned to the next big thing. It's easier than ever for EA now that most of their games are using the same engine.
