I liked "the exile" the best, even though KOTOR2 isn't a BW game.
Of the ones listed here I chose the last option.

"Kadan". Sten calls the Warden this if you gain his respect.

Hawke, no doubt. Would use my second vote on endearments/nicknames, but tbh they're mixed bag.

"Revan" was always the most interesting, because it was "title" that came along with a persona. The name carried even more weight than Darth, and implies so much more than the Dark Side.
Inquisitor is the runner-up, just because of the implications of what the PC is going to do. The title is also badass.

I mean, when I just see the titles against each other, the one that "calls to me the most" is probably "Hawke", just because of all the times I could repeatedly click on Fenris to hear him practicing his goose noises, or something.

What about Charname?
For me, however, it's a tie between skipper and Shepard-Commander.

How is Hawke a nickname? It's his/her actual name. Shouldn't the option be Champion instead?

Then you must be talking about first names only, since calling Hawke "Hawke" is voicing the char's real name, just like calling Ryder "Ryder." But isn't Revan the actual first name? I never got the impression it was a surname or any kind of title either.
To me, a nickname is Varric calling Sebastian "Choir Boy." In fact, there's a banter with Aveline where she complains he only calls her by her real name but he counters with the fact he also calls Hawke by "Hawke."

Just talking about what you refer to the protagonist of each game in dialogues when they do not use the private name you gave the character. I actually am not sure if Revan is first or last, or the only one the character had, or took for him/herself as an honour name. They are not consistent between the games, really in what they are using.

How is Hawke a nickname? It's his/her actual name. Shouldn't the option be Champion instead? Hawke: Varric. Varric: You called? Hawke: I notice you don't have a nickname for me. Varric: I call you Hawke. You've probably heard it once or twice. Hawke: But that's my name. It's not like Daisy or Blondie. (If Hawke has a diplomatic/helpful personality) Varric: All right, Waffles. You really want a nickname, I can hook you up. Hawke: Waffles? That's... unexpected. (If Hawke has a humorous/charming personality) Varric: Sure, Chuckles. You want a nickname, I'll be happy to fix you up. Hawke: Chuckles? That works. (If Hawke has an aggressive/direct personality) Varric: If you really want a nickname, I can oblige. I'm thinking about going with Killer. Hawke: How creative. From mark of the Assassin

How about "Shep" from Kasumi Goto? Don't like it, especially since she starts using it as soon as you meet, like you're old friends or something.
Same with Ashley calling Shepard, "Skipper." Makes me think of Gilligan's Island. Not what they were going for, I'm sure.
