For my money, Xaine's World has the best weapon analyses videos on youtube. He recently recommended stacking four plasma charge augments on the Ushior pistol (tongue in cheek?).
Anyone know if augments can be stacked like that?

Are you sure you correctly understood his suggestion? He researches his vids pretty well via gameplay; but that sounds impossible. You can only apply one such mod per weapon. That would be like stacking Vintage Heat Sinks. It makes no sense. You can only change your weapon to "Plasma Charge" once.
Typically, he recommends stacking Kinetic Coils to up weapon damage, if anything.

You can stack the exploding plasma augment with other types. Like exploding plasma with plasma charge. The result is a semi automatic weapon that fires heat seeking plasma bolts. Used it on a valkyrie (highly recommend btw) for two playthroughs. Superior weapon that. Only changed it because I got bored and wanted something new.

With the new patch the stat changes are clearly defined on the augs now too. Fucking beam aug is -80% damage lmfao whats the point.

The VHS' 30% clip size penalty still isn't listed, though. It makes me wonder if they're are still other hidden penalties. I've not checked them all. I'm still fairly early in this PT, so I don't have many of them. |

VHS seems comparable. Ushior with clip upgrades over heated on the 5th shot I think.

I can't help but wonder if they just screwed up with the coding (inverted it). I have a hard time believing anyone at Bioware thought -80% was a good idea lol...maybe they meant to make it -20%? Hopefully it gets fixed at some point because like you said, there's really no point to an augment the lowers a weapon's damage by 80%. |
