Well as CD project said from that secret message, they want people who do feel hesitant to not pre-order and wait. You know, even if this game do crash and burn I still won't feel bad about the money I put down lol. They are a great company full of great people, that just deserve success.

It also appear that they changed the storyline, but I expect as much when the narrative director left last year (somewhere in Nov/Dec). It could be that, though when I first saw the trailer the first thing I thought was what if this was a variant of what we've already seen? If V, instead of going with the corp agent's help in infiltrating the gang's hideout in order to acquire the merchandise from last year's gameplay demo, he alternatively went in gun's blazing (and was a guy instead of a girl)? I could be wrong, as it has been over a year since I saw the previous gameplay footage, but it would be cool if this is just another branch in the overarching narrative one could take. It's not the cinematic that actually point to a storyline change, it's the new official description of the game. Last year it was something like: You play as V, a cyberpunk trying to make a name for themselves in Night City. Game writers's description of the story was that of rags-to-rich story through none-linear quest chains. This year it is: You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. This point to a more linear story with the deck stacked against you (as you know, everyone will want the implant or have it destroyed). The cinematic shows something different than last year mission though. Last year mission was about getting a military bot from a gang. The new cinematic trailer is about getting an implant/chip (probably the one mentioned in the description). It does involve the same characters though: Dexter (black dude with golden hands), Jackie (V's buddy) and Bug (the netrunner helping in the first mission to save the woman). With the HYPE this game has, no way it doesn't crash and burns on arrival. People are buying into the hype instead of looking at the game they are getting. Cyberpunk is not for everyone. Strange, it's the same price for me in Canadian $ at both places ($79.99 too, that $88 is very surprising). Definitely waiting for gameplay next year before any decision to buy. They did well with TW3 so they'll probably do as well with Cyberpunk. I doubt it'll be like some other titles that were great disappointments in the past few years. We'll know better once they start releasing more gameplay footage, there's still many months to go. I think they made a boo boo. I round it up and put it at 88. The original pricing was 87.70 or about there. Right now, looking at GOG, it's US$59.99, round up and it's 60. It's better than the previous price I saw if I convert to local currency but still a little more expensive than Steam. The "crash and burns" is more about Cyberpunk, the source material, not being for everyone than the game actually being a bad one. People are buying into the hype (and Keanu) before paying attention to what they are actually buying: a no apology ultra violent setting where friends, happy endings and political correctness are in very short supply.

Keanu is Johnny Silverhand... I don't think they could have cast a better person than him. I think he'll fit like a glove.
Pre ordered collectors on gog.
Edit: to those saying they changed the story line: Have u ever considered that the trailer is just a showing of what happens when you choose a certain path in the game?

Ah, I didn't catch that part about the narrative description changing. I suppose a game like this needs a McGuffin to move things along. I just hope it doesn't come across as too much as a deus ex-machina though. A lone implant/chip that is the key to immortality seems a bit too "fantastical" for a setting like this (IMO).

If that's the case, I really hope that the game will let you purse that transhuman angle without labeling such a choice as the 'bad ending'. Being able to become a digital consciousness? To download your brain into any device on the net, from anywhere? That was the ultimate end goal of my 2020 character when I played the table top. Total droid conversions and multiplayer, those are the next things I want to find out about with this game now.

Mr Matty analyze the trailer a little bit, I thought he did a interesting job. Right now I'm just looking around the internet trying to find whatever I can to paint a better picture on what the game will be about. If anyone have anything they think is interesting, please share.

Official video for the gameplay sneak peek shown during the presentation (it's better quality than the thing I posted yesterday).
edit: There is two scenes in it where we can see Johnny Silverhand (aka Keanu): while V looks at himself in a mirror in a store and another one which seems to be at a job interview (and that one suggest Johnny is only visible to the player).

Yeah, over on the cyberpunk forums some are speculating that it matters who you pick as a childhood hero during the character creator is who you may see. I just personally hope that Keanu doesn't pop up everywhere you go. That could get a bit annoying.

If that's the case then that would suggest that the AI inhabiting the chip V has is not a digital upload of a human consciousness, but rather a machine AI that is trying to appeal to V's childhood aspirations in order to better enlist his/her aid for it's purposes.

Considering V wakes up in a garbage dump (which is straight out of a few scifi stories), I suspect the chip is gone by that point. Also, there is a polish pre-order website that mention " plot with rebel artificial intelligences" ( See this reddit thread for the source), so this ghost!Johnny might be related to that.

It doesn't seem at all different, except for more elaborate.
Kind of what I expected actually. You start to work as merc doing jobs for fixers, and you end up getting over your head, when the prize becomes "too hot". This seems more like a later mission in the game. Eventually a story about saving yourself, when you get in between warring factions ( They said that very early in development)
Uh, GTA? Last Red Dead?
If you promote your game right, that is actually huge appeal, even for "kids". It becomes "cool" to play that kind of game ( kind of how a lot of kids start smoking early for no other reason), Rockstar's "fuck-it" attitude when it comes to offending everyone's sensibilities.

I dunno, even Star Wars had a more impressive showcase than CP2077...
If they didn't bring Keanu Reeves and release date it would be absolutely dry.

They have a 1 hour demo presentation during E3 (which isn't even started yet) that they will make available online end of August/September (so people going at Gamescon/PAX can see it live too). Just like last year, but unlike last year, it's open to all attendees. We should get lots of previews and interviews to read by the end of this week. We are also supposed to get new screenshots tomorrow and a surprise (I don't think Keanu was the surprise). The surprise might be related to an ARG as the official twitter asked if people wanted to play a game but it was written...in binary.

I'd be a lot more interested in this game if it had third person perspective. I just don't get a good enough view of what's going on in the first person format. Peripheral vision doesn't exist. You can't turn your head without turning your whole body, and usually by then it's too late. It just doesn't work for me.

I never been hype for anything like I am for this game. I totally expect it to meet my expectations as well so already pre-ordered the CE and Deluxe just to give CDPR more money.

Is this real? It's still an RPG... right? Hopefully it's just a marketing technique to get people who don't otherwise play RPGs to flock to the game even more.
