So 15% increase to the really low base shields. Well that's fucking terrible. Just like the cyclonic mods that are also garbage. I remember the old times when the cyclonic mods gave +30/60/100/150% shields. Not 10/20/30/40 of PATHETIC base shields This new gear is an insult.

Nobody is using cyclonics in this game. It's also quite common that players aren't maxing out fitness tree, and we just get away with it easily on gold since day 1.

Obviously, since even with +100% shields (and fitness trees grant nowhere near that amount) that'd mean only 250 more shields...laughable at best. In ME3 the difference between 500 and 825 shields wasn't huge either, but when you used cyclonics 3/4 and your shields (basic human) became 1325/1575 it was quite noticeable. Not to mention that some characters (krogans, batarians and geth) could go well over 2k shields with boosters, plus the DR that some of them had. Here I don't feel any difference (aside visual) if I'm playing a Krogan or a human.

Even if they make it +30% I won't use it unless we get a Juggernaut. +10% weapon damage every time... If all 4 players use it that's 40% less time to kill a Fiend, while a bit of extra shields has no comparable impact over this.
Shield stacking wasn't as effective in ME3 once you got to platinum anyway due to shield gate mechanics.

Not playing with shotguns, so I broke it down, though. *gasp* One time I found a sweet QIC shield on a DikuMUD but I accidentally sac'd it for 1 GP. Then everyone made fun of me for months. (Yeah I have no idea why I'm telling this anecdote, either.)

It's hard to get excited about updates when they release something this stupid. Why in God's name would anyone use that over the Juggernaut shield? It's like the people creating this stuff don't really play the game, despite what they're always saying. You mean like how they didn't even know how much the equipment even buffed shields. Also, died on first wave using it AND a shield booster... I don't waste my time with there streams but I assume they were also playing on Bronze lol

That's because unlike ME3 the difference between 2 kits of the same class one specced zero Survivability the other full survivability is like 35% Shields/Health(On the highest side) which isn't a whole lot when your base Shields/HP is like 250/300 In ME3 when you specced fully into Fitness for survivability you doubled your shields and health, ME:A you go for all + % bonuses to health and shields and get like 50 extra shields out of it. Tankiest character in this game has like 375 shields, Geth Soldier in ME3 before you even fucking factored in Fortification or Stronghold Shields V had like 2800 shields, and even most basic kits had at least 800 shields. Squishiest character builds in ME3 were glass cannon GI and melee build Talon Merc and both didn't need more than 400-600 shields because you OHK damn near everything even on gold anyway. Miss that shit so much, Talon Mercs charged melee left full health/shield Gold Marauders with like 2 bars of health and you could hit them from like 50m with it, and it staggered the shit out of them for an easy follow up melee. Combine him with an Acolyte and he quite literally OHK's every non-armored enemy in the game, and the GI needs no explanation, and if you had a good GI in your group you might as well put your controller down and find something else to do for 10 minutes while the GI solo carries everyone without a single booster equip or consumable used.
