If you're making fun of me you clearly didn't even read my complaints I did read your complaint and your complaint is also valid against the way anime presents women. However, you didn't make it about anime, you made it about video games and yet both genres are widely known to have oversexualized female characters. Of course, anime generally does it worse since their oversexualized females are either excessively exaggerated or made to look underage. So the real question is, why don't you hold both genres to the same standard? Hmm. Why do you think...it might be...that in replying to a post involving using a picture of a video game character to undermine the over-sexualization of women in media...she might have made the complaint about video games and not anime? That is a head-scratcher.

Guys, just for the record, this is an ironic thread, so the potential for ironic posts is also pretty high. Just always consider the possibility that something might be ironic. Ironic? I don't know what that means.

I'm so dumb Don't say that. For the record, there was only one person among the several who are trolling a bit in here who I was referring to as genuinely ironic (I.e. a feminist using the term "feminazi). But this is a silly thread, deliberately so. The only chance we have of enjoying it is if we let the things that usually bother us roll off our backs.

If she were so outraged by the oversexualization of the media she would have agreed or understood my point in response to her oversexualized anime character (that I am going to assume was older than the age of consent). However, that is not what she did is it? No, she took offense to it! Now, let's move off of that contradiction to address your wording. I already highlighted, but I suppose I should repost it here so you know exactly what I am referring to: Unless I am mistaken, anime is a part of that "media" you just mentioned. So what exactly are you arguing here, that only video games count as the media? That is the REAL head-scratcher here...

I took offense to you mocking me and I put that pic. Because I thought lady artifice would like it and I like that girl she has cute straight bangs. I don't much like her character because she is in fact a symbol of what's wrong inanime but when lady artifice called for pretty pictures she came to mind and the way @lron you responded to me, it seemed an awful lot like making fun of me so I responded like I did. Yes anime is also guilty of the same problems.
The woman I posted is from a video game not an anime

Her words: ...To which you proceeded to complain about her representation of a woman wearing skimpy clothing and are now faulting her for not agreeing with you? See the disconnect, Lorn? She was complaining about oversexualization as a societal effect; what it does. Not the fact that it exists.

GUYS, THE WONDER WOMAN MOVIE IS GOOD!! IT'S GOOD!! DC HAS RISEN FROM THE ASHES!! The lead actress is terrible, and I'm not talking about her acting but her looks. Wonder Woman should look capable, Gadot looks like a regular skinny girl. Maybe that is what they were going for, but it still sucks. Thats not Wonder Woman. Oh, jeez, you're one of those? You do know she was in the Israeli Defense force for two years and her training regimen for Wonder Woman is allegedly even more intense? screenrant.com/wonder-woman-gal-gadot-training-military/Sorry she's not a powerlifter, but come on. Ok, humor me people. Which do you think is hotter: or Zoom is always better.

Women can look like that, there are many that do. Gadot, a model (military service notwithstanding) does not have the body type for it. As a woman I want true representation, not have a woman be okay coz she's beautiful. If the character is beautiful and muscly, then why can't we have an actress who can portray her properly? She's a fine actress and did a good job in BvS, but she's not a WW. Also why the attack on Giant? He's one of those what?

What's with all these females in video games and movies and stuff these day? Why on earth do we need so many females? Discuss. Preferably with pictures. Because why not? Females aren't restricted to the role of damsel in distress or love interest anymore, so why not add them in more roles in movies and such?

She's a fine actress and did a good job in BvS, but she's not a WW. Also why the attack on Giant? He's one of those what? o rly? Did I cherry pick those? You bet. Because that is part of the point. Comic books aren't consistently drawn, especially ones with decades under their belts. So no, Wonder Woman isn't always a white She-Hulk in the comics. Here's the other side of it too: Comic books depict an idealized version of the human body. It's why even supposedly scrawnier heroes like Spider-Man are still nigh-impossibly toned/built. Hugh Jackman may have gotten jacked (man) for every Wolverine movie but he never looked like this: And finally male and female characters are not idealized the same way. Men get super muscly and classically handsome, in that order. Women get super attractive and some muscles, in that order (unless they're specifically brawny, in which case they get super attractive and then get muscly, but still not to the same extent as dudes, even keeping body proportions relative). You can call sexism and I won't even argue with it, but it is what it is. Hollywood works mostly the same way in what it chooses to emphasize. And if they had cast just a pretty face like Zooey Deschenel or some shit, I'd agree with you. But from what I've seen Gal Gadot puts in the work to meet the physical demands of the role and then some. And unlike some rando starlet, I'd say her military background gives her a bit more cred in playing a warrior. So yeah, I think complaining about her physique now is ridiculous. At least you're not criticizing her armpits (that's why I was a little short, I read that nontroversy and wanted to set something on fire). Besides the character's an immortal god/demigoddess who can knock down Superman. Why should she look on the 'roid side of bulky when magic means her muscles don't work as hard for most of what she has to do? And yes that was an exaggeration for effect. Don't go accusing me of misrepresenting your point.
