So I getting all my characters beck to 20 to stay there and have just the uncommon left. Decided to test the melee options on the Human Adept.
Strategy: pull and punch things like the gladiator. Takes two punches to kill red bars on gold but you can punch really fast: Toss singularity and shockwave at the rest per your standard adept build. Fining pulling and punching things while I wait for shockwave/singulaty to be fun and intense. I could shoot enemies but pulling and punching them is really really fast...plus the 15% shields restored...
Gold Video (I was only a level 9 or 10 in this)...I do die and use consumables. I play gold high octane and this was actually really really fun....Used some barrels to kill fiends in this game as well...Basically put all my points into pull, barrier and offensive biotic first...not much in shockwave or singularity this game...Had tons of fun though...
STATS: 275 base melee= 1232 damage when tricked out. + 30% (Barrier 3) + 50% (Barrier Drain) + 20% (Exposure) 50% (Biotic Warrior) +30% (Expose) + 75% (jugg shield) +33% (shotgun melee mod) +45% (Strength enhancer III) + 15% (Universal power amp)
Build:I haven't even fully leveled this up yet...character is at 11 but this is where its going...
Pull to 5 [4] Radius: you can pull and punch multiple enemies [5] Expose: your such should do 30% more damage
Barrier to 5: [4] Unyielding Barrier: 305 more shields vs more and quicker regeneration. [5] Barrier Drain: + 50 more melee damage and 15% shields restore....I feel less squishy with this character. I die a lot but the constant melee child replenishment allows me to exist in the open much more.
Offensive Biotics to 6: [4] Recharge : faster recharge means quicker pull&punch and quicker singularity and shockwave combos. [5] Exposure: debuff for pulled targets I will punch...not 100% sure this works with melee after a pull, if not I'd go combo damage. [6] Biotic Warrior: for 3 seconds after using pull you get a 50% melee damage bonus.
Shockwave to 5 just for recharge speed Singularity to 5 for recharge speed.
Gear: Juggernaut shield (75% melee) Weapon: shotgun or pistol with melee mod (shotgun gives more)--ruzad the most Consumable: strength enhancer/universal power amp
Alternatively, pull to six and Barrier to 6 could make you tankier but I use the singularity/shockwave frequently and will use it more so as I level him/her.
S0 you have a poor man's krogan gladiator where you trade in a hammer with AOE damage (your annihilation should be off!) for shockwave and singularity. It also takes two hits for a red bar but the melee and this character is super fast.

I did this with the Kineticist. Ascension obviously makes spammimg it easier. You do however miss out on the additional 50% melee damage bonus from Biotic Warrior.

I did this with the Kineticist. Ascension obviously makes spammimg it easier. You do however miss out on the additional 50% melee damage bonus from Biotic Warrior. Did you like it? I occasionally punch with her but usually go bowling instead. Biotic link for the 40% extra shields is hard to drop for barrier drain. A constant 160 extra shield points while ascended or pulling a target, or getting 60 shield points (out of 400) per melee. You lose the 50% biotic warrior but I think your exposure does 10% more damage with Kineticist (at least according to apex HQ) so its a 40% loss. STATS: 275 base melee= 1122 damage when tricked out. + 30% (Barrier 3) + 50% (Barrier Drain) + 30% (Exposure) + 50% (Biotic Warrior) +30% (Expose) + 75% (jugg shield) +33% (shotgun melee mod) +45% (Strength enhancer III) + 15% (Universal power amp) So it doesn't seem the kinetics can 2 hit red bars on gold.... I wonder with power mods and passives how much damage crushing grip can do? Mix the melee with pull to 6. Shields get restored a few seconds then 15% for the melee hit and possible kill. I don't think with all power passives, the biotic gear and power amp that crushing grip can become fast enough to work though.

It's also 10% multiplicative, rather than 50% additive for Biotic Warrior. Can't be bothered to do the math now though. The important thing is the ability to spam it while maintaining Ascension due to Barrier Drain.

I start salivating when I see multiplicative in this game... it is tons of fun....I am having a blast with this human adept right now....keep pulling and punching out quarter health ascendants as well... OI thought I would loathe relabeling these commons but some of them are the funnest characters to play. I went with a non turbocharge soldier yesterday...lots of frags and concussive cells. Followed a Turian agent around and hit everything he lit on fire with one... combos for days...had my own priming ammo and durpicane as well..7 made spam on fiends... LUL mode...
