There's not a lot of new games out with co-op multiplayer on PS4 that I know of (open to suggestions!) Waiting on Destiny 2 and Borderlands 3 (played earlier versions of these games to the max). My friend and I purchased uncharted 4 to play co-op but it didn`t arrive for another 8 months after release... we both forgot about it and didn`t play it... but I tried it once and it was decent...

Loved ME3 MP ever since I got to play the beta/closed demo and this is at least as enjoyable to me, and usually moreso.
I HATE PVP. Not one PVP game I've ever played over the last 25 years was actually fun for me.
I prefer 3rd Person over 1st person, because I don't have three monitors and 3rd person gives much better peripheral vision, which is more close to real-life.
I love space magic and having RPG-style progression.

I don't usually multiplay any game that I own, even though I had my share of Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena and C&C Generals in the past. For some reason I got hooked on ME3MP, I played the MP-beta of that one and liked it, played through the campaign and liked it, but damn that fucking ending. It really was the worst ending to any gaming trilogy I've ever played... But I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the Mass Effect universe, started a second ME3 playthrough and meanwhile decided to give multiplayer a chance, which is really out of character for me. I didn't bother at all with Bioshock 2's MP, or Max Payne 3's, or later Tomb Raider's nor even GTA V's. I loved ME3MP, and it was getting better and better by all the balance changes and added content. Another out-of-character move for me was getting addicted for a year on SW:TOR, about a year after ME3's release, when I for some reason quit playing that one. So, since MEAMP is in many ways a successor to that awesome-against-all-odds miracle called Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer, I got hooked on this one too. Yes there's still a long road ahead, and MEAMP might not catch the magic that was ME3MP, but slowly but surely it seems to at least be heading in the right direction. Yes there are better multiplayer games out there, but besides ME3, none of them play in the Mass Effect universe, which makes it special to me. EDIT about the ME3SP ending: I personally loved the Extended Cut, and at least for me, Bioware redeemed for the crap which was there in the first place by at least having taken the effort by having those endings make a bit of sense where they originally wouldn't, and even gave some feedback on your gameplay choices, where it didn't. Yes there was no 'happily ever after with <insert love interest here>', but they had to keep some bit of their 'artistic integrity intact'. Oh and Citadel DLC

Oh and Citadel DLC Funny you mentioned that you normally don't/didn't play MP, because I'm the same way and ME3 MP was my big exception to that rule too!!! Aside from ME:A, it's just about the only MP I've ever bothered with, because I hate PVP and fucking loathe microtransactions/F2P.

The full question should read: Why are you playing Mass Effect Andromeda in multiplayer and not other multiplayer games or at least not only those neglecting Mass Effect Andromeda?
Maybe this topic already was covered in other threads and I’m not aware. Haven’t found something adequate. The intention is to seriously discuss/share ideas why you/we are playing MEA in multiplayer although there are multiplayer games out there doing it better (do they?). What keeps you going. So please at least try to give it a serious thought and answer. Although I know that MEA is built as a single player game at least I’m much more playing the multiplayer part of it and enjoy it a lot. However I came up with a few ideas (for myself) how to even more increase the enjoyment of the game, for instance • More maps/enemy factions • Bigger maps, much, much bigger maps • Longer missions with e.g. 1h gameplay for a team • Additional non-battle objectives • PvP in addition to PvE • …
Now I know you know that many of these ideas have been discussed in and out. I – not having played any other multiplayer ever except for ME3MP – discussed it with my son who told me: “But Dad, all of these elements already are out there, Destiny for instance providing very long team missions, Battlefied, Command & Conquer etc. etc. ”
My question is – if so many games are out there offering higher variability, longer/more ambitious objective concepts, PvP etc. – why are you still playing MEAMP?
Don’t get me wrong, I do NOT wanna encourage anybody to move to other games even more as I need ALL of you to save my a… when being headbutted to death by another berserker. But I would like to understand what keeps you happy with this game despite the fact there might be other games out there doing an equivalent good or better job. As I’m obviously lacking an appropriate base for comparison I can only tell what I enjoy.
It’s quick and you receive immediate feedback of success or failure. It gives me the good feeling of random people helping each other (doing objectives, reviving, fighting the same enemies etc.). It provides a lot of variability in character/weapon/team vs. enemy faction/map/difficulty set up. It provides me the emotional connect to the mass effect universe single player history. It’s fun.
Thanks for reasonable replies.
Halo is dead and other than that single franchise, I couldnt really care less about pvp. PvE is all Im really concerned with anymore, specifically a horde mode style pve. Ive yet to play a game that does it as well as ME3/MEA.

I won't go through OP's wall of text to answer such a simple question.
Personally, I don't have the same commitment to other games, nor I feel that they have the same replay value for me. For instance, I have played about 150 hours of Overwatch and 200 hours of Titanfall 2. I got my money back from those games, for sure, but if I go back to them and play for 1 hour, I will easily get burned out.
I have played MEAMP for 500 hours and I am still far from feeling burned out. Yeah, the game has its shortcomings, but I still have fun playing it and i have defended here that i do consider this game even superior to ME3MP. Besides that, the ME universe, lore, races, struggles and all that are also factors that me keep me interested in the game.

Don't like 1st person. No interest in PVP
So it has to be 3rd person PvE.
If there are other good ones of those, I'm all ears...

It's relatively low stress (apart from the fiends) and I can play it without paying too much attention to what's going on. Mass effect mp is probably the only pve game mode I actually enjoy as well when it works. Otherwise I mostly play pvp like gears/halo though I've started to dislike first person shooters because the ttk is so small and my twitch reflexes just aren't very good.

But I play other games. I play KSP, a SP building sandbox for space stuff and Fractured Space, a spaceship MOBA MP with PvP. KSP is like getting in a time machine. Turn it on and you move forward hours in time near instantaneously. I play MEAMP for the MP. It's the only MP game I really play and the only fast paced action game I play. I normally prefer RPG or strategy but ME3MP hooked me on the co-op style. The co-op style is also nice that you can play with other people and not talk to them. A major plus for the antisocial gamer.

Main reason is the lack of pvp. Pvp games invariably attract the scum of the earth like dog shit attract flies. Here I can play with somewhat sensible people instead. Same reason...just I would have phrased it more politely. lol.

Its new, I played TF2 and Rocket League before MEA came out. TF2 will be 10 years today i spent over 3000 hours in game and will be coming back after i get tired of MEA. I still go back to Rocket League every couple days. Sometimes you just want ballgames instead of spaceshooters. And I spent way too much cash on customizations to just walk away.

I purchased MEA(MP) because I really liked the original Mass Effect series and ME3MP. ME3MP was the first multiplayer game I played, really: before that I had never considered myself to be good enough to play with or against human players. ME3MP changed that: I played it a lot and became quite good at it (ahem). From there on I played SWTOR, Guild Wars 2, DAIMP, Titanfall and SW Battlefront (insofar as multiplayer games are concerned); these all make for quite different multiplayer experiences some of which I enjoy more than others. Anyway, after a few years I was pleasantly surprised that ME3MP still had a very rich player base and started playing that again. Moving to MEA(MP) seemed sort of the logical thing after that so, here I am playing as well as enjoying MEA(MP)...

I have not been on in a week, other than for the elite wtfe pack challenge. I decided to play Warframe again and when I did the challenge I couldn't believe the input lag on MEA that I guess I became accustomed to.
The aiming, movement and framerate feels like utter shit compared to WF haha.

As mp games, you mean? Unless one would refer to them as 'MOs', sure why not? Imho, they're the most multi-faceted mp games, since you're often able to choose what type of multiplayer game you like: World versus Engine, Team versus Team, World versus World, Player versus Player...

I'm not much into competitive MP, so I enjoy the cooperative aspect of this game.
I'm mostly just killing time until the FFXIV expansion, though.

Currently I am waiting for the second expansion to launch.

i play MEA on weekend apex missions, like the aqua map, roekka invasion, etc i like it but there are way too few maps, and it's always the same, i play a few matches and thn it's boring, i play Titanfall 2 MP, (it has few maps too) but it has more maps than mea, and it's way more fun, unpredictable, responsive, fluid, dynamic, more competitive, more entertaining, a lot more things to do, more modes, more objectives meamp is not as good as me3mp was
it's not coop and not competitive, it's just a third person shoter, objectives are way too simple and fast to complete no new map, no new enemies, few new characters
always the same
and it's sad

1) I absolutely HATE PVP as I'm too competitive and get stressed out. 2) I enjoy this IP 3) It's very fun, would like to see some kits from ME3MP ported though.

I got bored of Borderlands and Warframe since they make me fall asleep; I liked ME3MP(fun times) and DAIMP(to some extent); I don't have an xbox one so I can't play the new Gears of Wars or Halo games; I played some MMOs, than my eyes closed, and I snored; Destiny has been boring, but new content brought me back for some months, than MEA came out.
The exceptions to this are Killing Floor 2 and Rainbow six siege; I actually play Siege the most since I have friends who play it for most of the week. As for now I play R6S, KF2, and MEAMP; once EA's Battlefront II comes out I'll play that too. I might pick up Destiny 2 once all of its content has been put into a convenient collection; I might even look at Anthem(gonna wait and see with this one; at the least it makes me snore less than Destiny 2).
