Is anyone suffering random massive frame drops post patch? I did not tweak anything with regards to software nor hardware and I find it happening way too often. Preliminary observation suggests that it has to do with the Reegar Carbine. When someone is firing/using it I drop from 60 fps to 10 fps.
Yes. Reegar does cause some issues. It happens randomly to me even when no one has a reegar but more so after 1.08. Strangely, Origin patched yesterday or the day before and FPS lag has been worse. I'm not really sure if that has anything to do with it but, I also would not be surprised if it was.

I was for about a week, pretty badly for the first half of the first wave, but yesterday everything straightened out. Not sure why, I didn't make any changes on my end.
"To hate blindly is as dangerous as to trust blindly." An old Angaran saying.
I think it depends on the map, I can use the Reegar on FB Aqua with no problems, yet on FB Sandstorm it causes significant FPS drops (or lag, I'm not sure if it's FPS).
Tbh I'm not surprised, this is a game using 75% of my CPU and whopping ~6GB RAM even at 1080p, yet the graphics simply don't justify its requirements.

Seems to be some problem with some of the effects bottlenecking where they shouldn't.
When someone records video of the slow FPS with reegar, you can see some of the lightning in the gun animating in realtime, while the rest of the game is a slideshow.
Personally, I get it more when a tech combo damage area is present (from a tech barrel explosion etc) in combination with other things such as high RoF guns.
So far with what we have, it seems to be some constant effect or animation thingy like the Reegar or Flamer. Yeah huge explosions tend to cause momentarily drops.
not really noticed it being any different to previous patches
rx480 9gb 16gb ram fx8350
what I did notice was swapping the game from a spinning disk to a new ssd (not the one the os is on) improved a lot of things for me specficially it reduced frame rate drops that I was getting a lot beforehand
I suspect also disabling swap drive on the spinners had something to do with that as well
just because your paranoid doesn't mean there not out to get you!
i'm dyslexic and grammatically challenged if you spot a mistake its because auto correct has messed up:)
I don't think they performance checked 1.08 for any length of time. The Reegar is one of the obvious causes of performance losses, but there are others. Explosions, in particular tech combos, are giving me pretty hard hits to my frames. One or two, not a biggie, but when there's more than that it starts to slow me down. However the biggest one that seems to be doing it to me are the destructible covers in the game. If a few of those are all destroyed at the same time I slow to a slide show until the particle effects for it resolve themselves. Combined all of these together and you definitely have a issue while playing.
Tec combos, elemental ammo, flak cannon, reegar, kett myst and combinations of those causes slowdowns and mouselag in this game since the latest patch. I thought lowering details would help on pc but nope, still severe slowdowns. Enabeling a framecounter reveiled a stable 60 fps framerate even during exterem slideshow moments.
They fucked up something with the game engine, probably has to do with network optimization, to keep the game synced during performance intensive moments. The higher the difficulty, the more is going on ingame, the more obvious it becomes.
There is nothing wrong with fps, I just a had a game with 3 reegar users and fps was at 60 for me but it just becomes frozen like waiting for the host to resolve something. IMO, it is some kind of processing error glitch. Modern PC should have no problems with these kinds of effects, there is obviously some coding error. Hopefully, they'll patch it. Also, this version of reegar sucks, the gun is plain bad and bugged, often times hits don't register at all. Well, this is true for most of the guns anyhow. I'm not sure why anyone would program a shooter this way.
