When I first unlocked the Venom shotgun months ago, I was so excited. It was one of my favorite weapons in ME3MP when paired with the Salarian Engineer. In Andromeda, running, dodging or landing from a hovering state disabled the charged state. I recently took it off the shelf and learned how to maximize its use. Contrary to current opinion, it’s actually an excellent shotgun. Charged shots have great direct and AOE damage and priming ability. It's important to charge your shots because uncharged shot will bounce like the Falcon assault rifle rounds. A charged Venom shot goes where you aim it, and the extra explosions go behind and to the right/left. The Venom can be charged to kill (red bar enemies) outright or strip shields from multiple enemies at once. A charged shot also primes enemies for a combo explosion. In the gameplay video below, I am using an Asari Huntress. Charged Venom shot, followed by either Throw or Lance for a fire explosion. I was using Incendiary Ammo 3 and the Shocktrooper equipment (20% to shotgun damage): Laggy start to the match, so the Venom fun begins at 1:49 mark. Some highlights: Hit two raiders at once: Three enemies, two kills. Would have been three if the Soned Krogan didn’t kill off the third Adhi: Venom charged shot and reload times synergizes well with throw, lance, and elemental combo cooldowns (4 seconds). Here I take down an Atlas: Another example of using fire combos with the Venom, Throw and Lance against a Berserker: Next comes a fully shielded Saboteur that I take out in two charged Venom shots and a fire combination: Right after that, I take out an Adhi, Raider, and Anarchist with a Knockdown Lance on the Adhi, charged Venom shot, charged Venom shot throw, and regular Venom shot: If you aim the charged shot just right, you can outright kill multiple red bar enemies. Here I kill two Raiders while under cloak (1 point in stealth grid): At long distances, the Venom fires with an arc, and it's hard to hit enemies that are flying, so it's not the best weapon against Remnant. Against the Kett and Outlaws, it's very effective. I encourage people to give it a second shot. Whilej it isn't Lord Venom from ME3MP, it's still quite good in Andromeda! I am looking to find myself a crowd of enemies so I can re-create that awesome GIF of the Turian getting a Venom killstreak in ME3MP. Best chance is during a Hack or Upload objective.

So.. uh, TLDR, so you may have said this, but the biggest mechanical advantage I found for this gun was the fact that you can charge and fire from hard cover without ever lifting your head. Reasonably accurately, too.

You say "bounced like a Falcon shot", as if it were a bad thing.
Can you use it intentionally for bank-shots? That was 3/4 of the joy of the Falcon, and I never understood that until 400hrs into 3MP when @crimsonvanguard opened my eyes to how incredible that gun is.
If Venom can bank, I can bang. No bank, no bang.

No bank, no bang. You don't actually have the game right? There's an armored robot unit that pops up a shield in front of it nearly all the time. There's the main opening towards its head and a smaller slit opening on the bottom. You can bounce shots and grenades under it.

Correct, I do not have the game, and I am happy to learn that those mechanics remain unchanged. The Falcon is still a top tier gun in 3MP after all the nerfs. It is not as good as the Venom, but it is better off-host than Venom and is better overall than the Scorpion (Scorpion is still a valuable sidearm for kits that can't stun a Phantom). It has saddened me that the Venom has been relegated to shit-tier. To learn that this may be partially a L2P issue is somewhat hilarious, which also seems to me to mean it can't be right, and that OP is a host-only cat. Nothing wrong with that, but it is an important part of the conversation.

I still haven't fucked with this gun much, but some very good players I play with, swear this gun is very effective. I don't have the balls yest to try it on gold, but they say its good.

Right now, I am missing more often than not when not hitting targets directly with uncharged shots.

Nothing wrong with that, but it is an important part of the conversation. The charging mechanic is far worse than ME3, so I wouldn't say it's a L2P issue. As for Falcon, I think it's not used often. It's not the worst weapon, but since everything else was buffed there's not that much reason to use it. I think the RoF and mag might be lower than 3's as well. Positive being it can actually get headshots.

The game is still relatively new, and people haven't are basing their opinions on using the gun just a few times. Play with it enough and you can join the Venom fan club.

I kinda like it. Similar to flak cannon. The charge mechanics are ass though.

Mechanical execution is the biggest limiting factor on the venom.
It is a potentially great gun if you nail the timing, but it has so many inconvenient points.
I wish it would auto charge when you hold the trigger. As the refire delay, and anything that breaks your charge stops the gun from firing when ou release the trigger at all, and the weird delay with when it will accept trigger pulls really hampers the guns usability.

Falcon is better for bank shots. Venom single shot could bank, but it limpdicks around too much to work unless it's a small space you'd fire into.
Works great in mid-air. Turian Havoc Venom + Flak will clear spawns. (I'm a broken record). But it's different from ME3MP. Harder to charge, blankets more space.

I think you have just made the Huntress interesting enough to level her up. Charging the venom is a bitch, but with stealth grid you can take your time for it. Thank you.

No bank, no bang. Yes you can! My favorite is shooting the platform's ceiling on Zero to kill multiple enemies from the other side. Charge mechanic sucks but this gun on a fully charged shot primes faster, and deals massive amount of damage. You can bank it like Tim Duncan
