Goal: build the asari duelist so the asari sword will OHK any redbar in the game and 2HK annointed/anarchist level enemies. Without the use of boosters you will have to briefly tap backlash before each melee to accomplish this which activates biotic warrior. Build: - Offensive Biotics: Power Efficiency, Weapons and Melee, Biotic Warrior
- Barrier Unyielding, Barrier Drain, Saving Barrier
- Backlash: Recharge, Either, Either.
- Charge: either, Weapons and Melee, Bastion
Equipment: Jugg Shield and Melee Mod X on a shotgun/pistol. We don’t get much use of ranks 5 and 6 of backlash unless you run into a pickle and use your backlash for longer which does happen....but I don’t think rank 6 Damage is activating if you tap it and don’t take any damage but I am not 100% certain. So theoretically you could go lance to 4 (see solutions below). The math: The AD has a base melee = 740 and we need to get to 2375 (per numerical handbook) to OHK any redbar in the game and be able to 2HK an anointed/anarchist. So 740 * (1 + x) = 2375 which means that we need to add 221% (x) extra melee damage to accomplish our goal. Barrier gives us 30% (rank 3) and 50% (rank 5), offensive biotics gives us 15% (rank 3) and 30% (rank 5) for a total of 125%. The juggernaut shield gives us 15% and the shotgun melee X attachment gives us 33% for a total of 173%. We need to come up with 48% more melee damage to accomplish our goal. Solution #1 Tapping backlash for an instant before each melee should activate biotic warrior and give you 50% more melee damage allowing you to OHK any redbar in the game and 2HK an annointed. You should be able to 2HK an Anarchist, Agent and Sabatuer as well (armor = 4750) Solution #2 Use a strength enhancer III (45%) and a Universal Power Amp 2 (10%). No backlash tapping necessary. Solution #3 use a strength enhancer III 45%) and a Ruzad with extra melee damage (10%) Solution #4 use a ruzad, strength enhancer 2 and universal power amp 2. Solution #5 obviously a level IV melee amp will work but who has lots of these? Solution#1 will not work with a hurricane (29% melee damage) as you end up 2% short and the enemy will have a sliver of health left. Solution 2 will work with a hurricane/pistol and melee amp. Recommended solution: depends on your booster situation but two is probably the preferable one as it will work with any shotgun and pistol. Alternatively, you could just utilize Solution 1 with a lower level strength enhancer 1 or universal power amp 1 and some elemental ammo with a hurricane! Now you can prime and detonate with lance (which can go to 4 if you put backlash to 4) and detonate with your charge and still tap backlash for OHK melee damage of any redbar. I max backlash and skip the priming as its useful vs remnant and ascendant bubbles. Just for hahas….Suppose we put on a Ruzad, Strength Enhancer III and Universal Power Amp III and charge into armor and then tap backlash before a melee: = 323% extra damage = 4.23 x 740 = 3130.2 for the melee. The charge will do 275 x (1+ 1.10 +25 …took effenciency) = 646 damage. A bersekerker has a health of 14250 ( Charge into it, tap backlash then melee = 10, 473.8 health Tap Backlash and Melee = 7408 health. Tap Backlash and Melee = 4342.8 Charge into it, tap backlash then melee = 566.6 Ruzad shot??? 4 melees and a ruzad shot for a gold berserker in isolation. I'll post video later.

You forgot to add in the part where the Krogan headbutts and staggers you or the Sharpshooter takes out your shields and some Raider finishes you off with his Avenger XX.
Seriously though, Asari melee + Biotic Blink + Backlash + Charge makes her almost unstoppable and unkillable. I have been able to tank an entire room of Destined, Anointed, Wraiths, and Chosen – thankfully no Ascendants or Fiends – on Firebase Magma using this technique.

Melee on asari duelist takes to long, the teleport to enemy is nice, but doesn't matter if your already dead. Also missing the key component that makes melee something besides a shyts and giggles game... krogan endurance. While using her I literally thought to myself... why am I not using the krogan vanguard instead....

Its not the kit's fault you die a lot. And you assume I was speaking of myself because? Your Ass duelist and melee are for shyts and giggles brah. You'd take out more enemies faster with primer ammo and just spamming lance and charge.

Firstly; Does the 50% passive bonus stack? That sounds very weird. Unless it does there's no need to tap backlash after a charge. Secondly: why specify for hurricane, when you could generalize with pistols? (concerning solution 1)

What's funny is I did most of this math this weekend while I was finishing leveling her. I went with Solution 4 mostly. I mocked up another build idea that I'd like your opinion on. The theory is to get it so you drop shields (up to 2375 for observers and pariahs) in a charge and a lance, then kill with a melee. I also didn't want to have to rely on any temporary melee damage boosts to get that 2375 to OHK red bars. It seems like it should work, but the big sacrifice is the CD reduction from Power Efficiency to get that last little bit of biotic damage. I think that the extra second on charge is probably too long. I think a weapon will strip the shields quicker than a lance...Take an annointed or destined... I can two melee them or I can charge into one, spray the hurricane for an instant and the shields are down and then one melee. This also works with the than quite well and I am sure a few other guns. You only need a universal power or strength enhancer 1 to make tapping backlash work with the hurricane and none with the than... I thought about trying to take down the shields with charge but I couldn't get enough damage to do so but didn't consider lance...I still think hurricane/dhah increase efficiency... So you can one melee any redbar and charge, instantly spray then melee the health off a shielded enemy. The problem with the duelist is you melee often tracks past things, especially when cloaked...I missed the dhan shot on the second one and the melee went straight through but that game I was off host and two bar-ing. It was rough and choppy the whole game...but if I could get my aim up that would have been a quick two piece...

(concerning solution 1) Not after a charge but frontal DR is nice....and I don't always charge...sometimes I am in a group of enemies and you can only charge and melee one of them...maybe two if you are lucky but the melee has a long animation... My biggest gripe with her slow animation is you have a period of vulnerability at the end. You get iframe during the melee but its slow and the enemy is locking onto and rocking you at the end of your attack sometimes... They said they can't do anything about the animation speed without breaking her but she needs like 1s of DR after a successful melee attack IMHO....might make her OP though. Thats the only time I ever die is when in a big crowds getting lit up from all angles..

Looks like the new magic number is 3375 for mooks and mid-tier shielded/armored enemies on Platinum. 3800 for the Boss versions. The lesser number is possible with: - lvl IV strength and universal mods
- Hydraulic Joints equipment
- Biotic Warrior and Weapons&Melee damage bonuses being active
- Rank XI Duelist for the 4% damage bonus
With an XX Duelist, and at least a 21% damage bonus from Damage Aftermath on Backlash, it's possible but very difficult to hit the OHK threshold on the bosses with 3800 health/armor/shields.
